33. One More To Go

After they had all been alerted to the true gravity of the tracker having come on, they knew that they would have to get back to the RV as soon as possible. Though it was unlikely that Jungkook's adoptive father could do anything about obtaining the RV while they were in space, they also weren't about to wait around to find out. Seokjin watched all of them hurriedly move about his house with a slight frown on his lips.

"You're all leaving already?" he asked as they all hustled to move towards the door.

Namjoon was the only one that still lingered near Seokjin, looking him over as he sadly looked down at his feet.

"It's been forever since I've felt like I could be my normal self around someone," continued Seokjin.

"The offer still stands," said Namjoon. "Why don't you come with us?"

"But LAME..."

"We'll make sure they don't hurt you," said Namjoon. "If you come with us, you will become part of this odd family and we protect one another."

"And you're sure you'd want someone like me?"

"One hundred percent sure."

"Alright then, just let me grab a few things," said Seokjin as he quickly disappeared to go fill a backpack with some of his belongings.

Within a matter of minutes, Seokjin had returned. A frying pan that he deemed lucky dangled off the side of it as he walked outside with Namjoon to where the others were waiting.

"So hairy Houdini is coming with us?" asked Jungkook.

"Yes, he is," said Namjoon, "and be nice to him."

"Nice? This is me being nice," said Jungkook as Taehyung sighed beside him, looking over at Seokjin who seemed a bit sheepish and shy around them all.

"Well, it'll be nice to have you along," said Taehyung as he held out a hand for Seokjin to shake followed by an overly enthusiastic Hobi who drew out some hay from his pocket to hold out to Seokjin.

Suga could see Jungkook rolling his eyes as Seokjin took the offered hay with a thanks, walking over to whisper in his ear as he walked past him, "It's not hairy Houdini, idiot. He has fur."

"OH CAN IT!" snapped Jungkook at Suga as he walked off chuckling, acting as if he did nothing wrong before walking up to Namjoon.

"So, what's the plan?" asked Suga as he looked at Namjoon. "We obviously need to get back on our RV to get out of here, but we have to go through LAME to do so."

"I think the best plan is to face them head on," said Namjoon as Suga looked at him like he had a screw loose.

"But they are after that man," said Suga, pointing at Seokjin as if Namjoon had forgotten.

"I know," said Namjoon, "but they will have to go through us in order to get to him. Ready to act like the security system you once were?"

A small smile twitched across Suga's face as he nodded his head.

"I was made ready."

When they reached the flower field where LAME had first deposited them on the planet, it took Namjoon what felt like a matter of seconds to contact them to come pick them up. They had convinced Seokjin to pretend to be their captive, wrapping some rope around his wrists. Jungkook and Suga each stood on either side of him to look like they were guarding him as all of their eyes turned skywards upon the reappearance of the LAME ship.

"So, I see you found him," the leader of LAME said as he stepped off the ship, walking towards them as his eyes stayed focused on Seokjin.

"We did," said Namjoon as his eyes tracked after the leader. Namjoon soon looked at Seokjin who stiffened his back a bit to appear as if he wasn't intimidated. "Now that we have held up our end of the bargain, we'll be off."

"Fine," said the LAME leader as he stopped a few feet short of Seokjin to use his com to signal back to the ship. Soon the RV came hovering down to a landing in the flowery field.

'One step down. One to go,' thought Namjoon as the leader of LAME focused his full attention back on Seokjin.

"I was worried I wouldn't ever see you again," said the leader of LAME as a grin flickered upon his face before disappearing. "I'm glad you have finally been found though. It's time you came home."

The LAME leader was so focused on Seokjin that he didn't notice Suga and Jungkook look towards each other and lock eyes.

'Please just work together for once,' pleaded Namjoon internally.

It seemed like Namjoon's internal wish came true as Suga and Jungkook moved forward at the same time. Suga moved to grab the com link that was attached to the man's wrist while Jungkook maneuvered himself around the back of the man and put his sword up against his neck. The LAME leader stiffened in shock at first before a small chuckle left his lips.

"What do you idiots think you're doing? Has this blemish on humanity manipulated you into taking his side?"

"If anyone is a blemish on humanity, it is you for thinking that being different is a bad thing," remarked Namjoon as Taehyung moved to start untying the rope that was about Seokjin's wrists.

"You are all so narrow minded that you don't realize the consequences of trusting him," said the LAME leader, narrowing his eyes in disgust as Suga managed to get the com link free, stomping it under his foot.

Taehyung handed the rope to Suga who moved to stand beside Jungkook who still had the LAME leader at sword point. As Suga worked to tie the LAME leader's wrists behind his back, his icy gaze remained focused on Namjoon.

"You will regret this," he threatened.

"You talk too much," groaned Jungkook as he turned to look at Namjoon, "Can I just silence him already?"

"No. We're not going to stoop to his level," said Namjoon as he looked from Jungkook to Hobi who stood nearby. "Hobi, the signal."

"Signal?" asked the LAME leader, confused as Hobi came over to him and tucked a few strands of hay into the pocket of his suit.

No sooner had Hobi backed away from the LAME leader then, over the hills, came a pack of Alpacians. The LAME leader's eyes widened as they got closer and soon took him into their custody. He continued to spew how they'd all regret what they did as they led him away, charging him with hate crimes against their species.

As soon as the LAME leader was no longer in sight, they all seemed to take a collective sigh of relief. Wandering back towards the RV after retrieving Seokjin's backpack from its nearby hiding place, they all got on one at a time. Namjoon boarded and turned to see that Seokjin was still hesitating at the door of the RV, looking cautiously inside as everyone else's got settled.

"What's wrong?" asked Namjoon.

"I just...I feel like I should pull my weight since you not only saved me, but are offering me a place to call home," said Seokjin. "I don't feel right boarding unless I can contribute somehow."

Namjoon tried to think about what Seokjin could do as a small argument started up behind him over what food remained in the RV and who it belonged to.

"Wait...you like to cook, right?" asked Namjoon.

"Well, yes..."

"Perfect then! We're in desperate need of a cook," said Namjoon.

Almost in cartoonish fashion, Hobi poked his head over Namjoon's shoulder to look at Seokjin.

"You can cook?!" asked Hobi. "Do you know how to cook fried chicken?"

"Yes, I just..."

"You're hired!"

"Hobi, this isn't a job interview..." said Namjoon with a chuckle as Hobi grabbed Seokjin by the arm and practically yanked him into the interior of the RV.

As Namjoon shut the door of the RV, he looked at how happy Hobi was showing Seokjin the limited kitchen they had to work with. They only had one more person left to go according to his grandfather's journal. Namjoon just hoped they could find whoever it was before it was too late.
