Kai and Kaylee fight sparring bots while Jay and Cole train together.

"Zane is down. Folks disappearing all over town, and we can't do a thing to help! If we just knew why Acronix and Krux are taking people!" Cole groans, punctuating each sentence with a punch.

Jay starts. "You know, my theory-"

"For the last time, they are not hostages," Cole growls. 

"How can you be sure?" Jay asks as Kaylee kicks off a weapon on the sparring bot before walking over to the two. 

"No ransom note," Kaylee replies. 

"Maybe they're gonna hypnotize them into being an army?" Jay suggests. 

Cole sighs, before punching the mittens Jay has on. "Krux and Acronix already have an army. Of Samurai snakes."

"Well, you know my other theories-" Jay continues. 

"Do not say alien abductions again, or dimensional rifts, or Elven magic portals!" Cole uses his Earth Punch on Jay, hurling him in the air. "Sorry. It's just...I'm tired of speculating. We need to take action! Right, Kai?"

Kaylee turns around. "Kai? You okay? You haven't been the same since you squared off against Krux. Did...did he do something?"

Kai mutters. "More like said something. No, Nothing. I'm fine."

"Good, 'cause I was just saying it's time to stop guessing and to start fighting!" Cole declares. 

"So you're saying we capture one of those snake guys and bring them back here for Wu to question?" Kai asks. 

"I just want to fight somebody. But okay, we could do that too." Cole shrugs.

Lloyd walks out from the Temple. "That plan won't work."

"Why not? I think it's a brilliant plan." Kaylee replies, crossing her arms. 

"Because Master Wu still hasn't recovered from his battle with Acronix. He rambles. He passes out. I think he's a lot more hurt than he lets on." Lloyd answers. 

"Oh, great! All this and now we have no leader, either." Kai sighs.

Lloyd rubs the back of his head nervously. "Uh, that's not exactly true. Ahem! With Wu out of commission, the, um...logical successor would be, uh..."

"The Green Ninja." Cole deadpans.

"Correct." Lloyd nods.

"Uh, Master Lloyd?" Kaylee says. "That sounds so weird." 

"Temporary Master Lloyd, you mean." Kai adds. 

"...in Training." Jay agrees. 

"Okay, Temporary Master Lloyd in Training, we mere Ninja await your words of wisdom. Which I assume involve kicking some butt till we get a few answers. Right?" Cole asks as the small group runs toward the edge. 

"Wrong. Too random. We need a plan." Lloyd shakes his head.

"We have one. Go kick some butt." Kai says.

"Really? Who's butt? Where?" Lloyd raises an eyebrow. 

Kai shuffles in his gi. "We'll work it out down there."

"No. We'll work it out here first. That's what Wu would do. Come on!" Lloyd orders. 

"Oh, yay, I just love sitting around and talking instead of doing," Kai growls. 

"Cut him some slack, guys. He's doing the best he can." Kaylee consoles.

"Maybe you should tell your boyfriend to stop being so annoying." Kai replies. 

Lloyd tries to explain his plan, but Jay keeps interrupting him. 

"So I think we can safely rule out-" Jay slurps his drink but stops when Lloyd turns around. "These places as hiding spots for the missing people." Jay does it again. "These are too small. These are to public. And these are too obvious." 

Jay slurps his drink again. "Or are they so obvious that they're actually the perfect hiding spot?"

"Hm. Interesting." Lloyd nods, as Jay slurps again.

"What are you doing?" Cole hisses.

"I'm bored. So I'm messing with him." Jay whispers.

"But now Lloyd's starting over! He's gonna take even longer." Kai says. "And Kaylee's already asleep!" 

Kai points to Kaylee, who's sprawled over the couch, lightly breathing. 

Jay sighs as Ronin and Dareth come in.

"Sorry to interrupt what looks to be the most boring party game ever-" Ronin stares at the sleeping Silver Ninja. "But the city's under attack down there."

"Yes!" The red, black, and blue ninja cheer, as Kaylee jumps up. 

"What?" Kaylee rubs her eyes, as Lloyd looks accusingly at her.

"Oh, I mean, that's horrible." Jay changes his wording, upon Ronin and Dareth's facial expressions.

"Terrible," Kai adds. 

"The worst." Cole nods.

"There's a bunch of Samurai and snakes stealing every piece of metal they can find." Ronin says.

"They took my trophies. My trophies!" Dareth laments.

"Any sign of Krux or Acronix?" Kaylee asks.

"Who?" Ronin asks. 

"Doesn't matter. Let's go!" Cole shrugs.

"W-wait. This doesn't make sense. Why are they after metal?" Lloyd asks.

"We can ask as we pummel them." Jay says.

Lloyd shakes his head. "No. It might be a diversion to draw us away from the Temple so they can finish off Master Wu."

"We can't just ignore the damage they're doing," Kaylee says.

Dareth adds in. "Nor that they have my trophies."

"I'm not leaving Master Wu unprotected again." Lloyd retorts. 

"But we're going." Kai answers.

"I'm ordering you to stay," Lloyd demands.

"And we're ignoring that order." Kai defies. 

"So..." Ronin asks, staring at the Ninja.

"Just go." Everyone leaves. "Nya will have my back." Lloyd tries to call her, but the cell tower is still down.

The Ninja arrive at the big tower, where a lot of the Snake Warriors have gathered. 

"Last one up is a rotten Ninja." Jay declares. 

"Clear off as many snakes as you can!" Kai adds.

Dareth gasps. "Wow! Total snake invasion!"

"This isn't good."

Kai defeats some snakes. "Why am I so good? It's a curse, really." The snakes regenerate. "Oh, great." He falls, but Nya catches him. "Nya, what are you doing here?"

"I came to warn you about the metal-stealing snakes, but it looks like you already know." Nya answers. 

"How's Zane?" Kaylee asks. 

Nya stares down at Zane. "He's, uh..."

"Avocados are not vegetables! Fifty-three, eleven!" Zane yells. 

"Uh, we're still working out some kinks," Nya replies as The Vermillion regenerates into an even larger snake.

"Spleen sauce, cow box!" Zane shrieks. 

Kai watches as Nya jumps on top of the tower. "Nya, where you going?"

"Come on!" Nya orders, as Kaylee follows the older girl. 

"Jay, Cole, let's go!" Kai orders.

"So, does anyone have a plan?" Jay asks.

"Welcome to Ninjago!" Nya uses the crane to knock off all of the snakes.

"That's a plan." Kaylee points out.

Lloyd meets up with the other Ninja. "What took you so long?"

"We were-Hey, how'd you know those whatever-they-ares would be coming here?" Jay asks.

"When all the power went out, I assumed they must be at the source." Lloyd replies.

"You figured that out yourself? Nice. We had to follow them." Kai replies.

"I should have been following them with you guys from the beginning. I'm sorry." Lloyd answers. 

"Yeah, yeah, so are we. So what's the plan, Temporary Master Lloyd?" Kaylee asks. 

"In training," Kai adds.

"Hehe. We go in there and kick some snake butt. Or whatever passes for a snake's butt. Like it?" Lloyd asks. 

"I love it!" Jay cheers.

Cole smiles. "Yeah. That's a great plan."

"The treadmill was invented in 1818." Zane answers.

"All right, snakes, time to-" Jay yells, as they burst into the power plant. "Where are they? The place looks empty."

"Zane, you detecting any snakes?" Lloyd asks. 

"Cranberries. Corkscrew. Squab!" Zane answers.

"Multiple contacts. Six meters in. Uh, after a while, you start to pick up on the meaning." Nya says.

They see the Vermillion, decorated with office supplies. 

"That's a bunch of Office Warriors! Literally!" Jay shrieks.

"Okay, let's do this! All of us!" Lloyd yells. 

"All of us?" Nya points to Zane walking into a wall.

"Oh, right. Zane, stay here." Lloyd orders.

Zane nods. "Newt."

"Ninja, go!"

"You don't look so big," Cole says, as the Warriors grab more office supplies and turn into a bigger snake. 

"And now you do," Kaylee says.

"A desk is no good without a chair. Have a seat!" Nya kicks a seat towards the snakes, but instead she just gave them a weapon. "Aw, come on!"

"I hate not having a full team. We could really use Zane's help." Lloyd sighs.

"Right now he basically has one move: short himself out with a massive blast of power. It creates a magnetic field that yanks off their armor." Nya informs

"Those turbines. They're basically big rotating electromagnets, right?" Lloyd asks. 

Nya nods. "Yeah. Basically."

"So if Zane were to hook indirectly and supercharge one of them, all this metal armor the snakes have-" Lloyd starts.

"I'm on it. Zane, I need you!" Nya orders. 

"Hog knock!" Zane shrieks. 

"We have to buy Nya and Zane a little time!" Lloyd orders. 

"Ninja, go!" Jay yells, shocking the snakes.

"Take that! And that! And- Oh that's doing nothing." Kaylee yells, shooting balls of her power at the snakes. 

"Got it! Now, Zane. Now!" Nya yells, plugging Zane into the turbines.

"Gargle my pudding! Gargle my pudding!" Zane yells. 

"We need more juice!" Nya informs. 

Lloyd turns from the snake. "Jay!"

"On it!" Jay sends a bolt of lightning at the turbines, and its attracts all the armor, including the ninja's

"Boo!" Kai says, and the snakes slither away. "That's right. Slither away! Hahaha! Way to go, Nya!" 

"It was Lloyd's plan." Nya admits.

"Way to go Nya, Lloyd, Zane, and Jay!" Kaylee reminds them. "It was a team effort."

"Yeah, yeah. Way to go, Master Lloyd!" Jay cheers.

"Yeah, you forgot the 'temporary in training' part." Lloyd says.

Jay nods. "I know. Don't let it go to your head."

"Uh, not to ruin the feel-goods, but maybe we should save the celebrating for after we get the power and Zane back on?" Cole says. 

They run to the power, and Nya started to flip switches, as the Ninja sat around awkwardly as the Water Ninja saved the city's power. "One more switch and..." The power goes back on.

"Well, we know civilization has been restored. The TV is working again." Kaylee grins. 

Zane powers back on. "Hello, everyone. What have I missed?"

"Oh, not much. Missing people and snakes trying to steal your metal skin. But we kicked their butts, if in fact they have butts. It's still an open question. But for now it's game over." Jay answers. 

"Uh, I'm not so sure about that." Kai points to the TV.

Gayle Gossip is standing behind Mega Monster Amusement Park. "Snakes are attacking Mega Monster Amusement Park. They appear to be after anything metal that isn't nailed down, including the nails themselves!"

"Ninja, we're leaving." Lloyd orders. 

"Amusement Park, really? Do these guys have fun?" Cole questions, shaking his head.

"Nah. More like they love metal." Kaylee replies. 

"Agreed. I cannot think of a better place to steal it from. I'm sure you concur, Pixal. Pixal?" Zane questions. 

"Now let's roll. I've got a Samurai X Suit to get back." Nya declares. 

"Wait!" Jay yells, but most of the ninja already left, Jay's cries muted from the covers on their vehicle. 

"What Jay? Seriously this better be good." Kaylee asks, landing softly on the ground. 

"There is a better place. A scrapyard. Like the one that belongs... to my parents!" Jay drives toward his parents' junkyard.

"He's got a point. Sorry guys." Kaylee sighs, kicking off and flying after Jay.
