Chapter Fifteen

The week passed by rather quickly and when I arrived back at the scrapyard,  I was given a scene I had not expected. The Autobot were on the hill, building a roller coaster into the scrapyard.

"Uh... what's going on, guys?" I ask, gaining the attention of Denny and Russell.

"Astraea!" Denny cried, giving me a big hug. I tense at it before relaxing and hugging him back.

"Hey, Denny", I say quietly. Denny smiles as he pulls back. "Hey, Russell. Seriously though, what are the Autobots doing?"

"They're helping me build a roller coaster", Denny exclaims. A few minutes later, the Autobots came up to us.

"Still a few beams to bring in, Denny, but we're just about done", Bee says as he walks up. Evidently he had not noticed me. Fix-it then commed in.

"Lieutenant Bumblebee! I'm picking up a Decepticon signal", Fix-it says. "Sensors show that's it's in a forested area just east of here."

Bee grins and is about to transform when I spoke up.

"Bee, can I come with?" I ask, perking up. Bee blinks as he sees me.

"Sorry, Astraea, but I think it'd be best for you to stay here, and get unpacked. Maybe the next mission."

I nod, and bring my stuff over to my trailer, quickly unpacking. I was about to head outside, when I heard the doors opening. I frown. The bots couldn't be back already. I peek out a window, and gasp when I see the 'cons entering the scrapyard. Oh no... Underbite stays at the gate, waiting for the Autobots while the rest head to the command center. I follow them as quickly and silently as possible, trying to escape the attention of Underbite. I watch as Denny, Russell, and Fix-it run down to the ground from the command center without even seeing Steeljaw and his pack.

"Well, well. A welcoming committee", Steeljaw murmurs. "How very kind."

I have to hold back from growling so no one hears me, especially when Clampdown grabs Denny and Russell.

"Fracture, perhaps one of your little friends can relieve the mini-con from his duties for a while", Steeljaw says to the purple con. One of the mini-cons from Fracture ejects and he lands where Fix-it had been moments before.

"I beg your pardon", Fix-it exclaims, offended.

"Not to worry, just upgrading your security system", Steeljaw says.

"With the limited materials on Earth?" Fix-it laughs. "Look, there is nothing you can possibly do to upgrade-"

Steeljaw cut him off. "Oh, but you're wrong. Or are you not aware of my previous crimes?" He turns to the purple mini-con. "Bring up my dossier, Airazor. This should be fun."

The mini-con does so, and Fix-it speaks. Steeljaw kneels on one knee as he does this, allowing him to be closer to the mini-con's height. "Oh, I'm well aware of your reputation. Jailed for instigating rebellion. Knowledge of subsonics, but-"

Steeljaw cut him off again. "Subsonics, precisely! Your security system can easily be rewired to emit sonic pulses that don't affect bots outfitted with the special chips I cobbled together for my friends and me, but aren't nearly as kind to standard Auto or Dinobots, as Bee and his team will soon discover."

My eyes widen and I want to go warn Bee and the others, but I have to find a quick hiding spot as Steeljaw comes walking over to go to the gate. The others follow close behind, Fracture ejecting his other mini-con to hold Russell and Denny. I watch as they lead them to front gate, all the while hiding in plain sight. I knew Bee saw me because his eyes widened, but he otherwise gave no indication that I was there. However, Steeljaw still had that strange obsession about me.

"Bee, where's that galaxy armored femme that I thought joined your team? The one that cares for Optimus Prime. Or the techno-organic? I haven't seen either of them", Steeljaw says.

Bee doesn't answer, and I got an idea to see if I could access the command center. Ignoring what happened next I found that there was only one mini-con there, and he was on the controls. I quickly made my swords visible and pulled them out, flying forward to attack the mini-con.

I scratched his metal and he let out a surprised shriek, alerting the other cons to my presence. I quickly hid in the stasis pods, not allowing myself to peek and see if they saw me. However, Steeljaw seemed to know it was me.

"Oh, techno-organic, come out, come out, wherever you are", Steeljaw called. I shiver and sink further down into the Earth behind the many stasis chambers. "Find her", Steeljaw mutters. I shake my head, and allow myself to peek out just a tiny bit. I saw that all their backs were turned. Using this to make my escape, I move towards the middle of the scrapyard, where I found myself away from the walls, and hidden. Letting out a breath of relief, I decided to test something. My armor came over me, giving me a metallic sheen. And no subsonics affecting me. Okay, time for test two. This was the one I was most nervous for because I saw how it affected Bee and the others. Allowing myself to become a full sized cybertronian, I brace myself for any pain. But... there was none. I grin in victory, and quickly and quietly move towards where I saw the Decepticon hunters. Those would be more powerful than my own swords. I saw them, and saw that no one was guarding them. In fact, I saw no one. I quickly grabbed one, and thought of the weapon I wanted. When it disappeared, I saw that it resembled the star saber which is exactly what I was going for. I grinned before willing it to close again. It worked, and I placed it on my back for later use.

Taking back pathways, I move towards the command center. I peek out and find everyone there. Smirking, I step out into the light, before casually leaning against some rocks as Steeljaw tosses Fix-it into the command center.

"So... I heard a certain wolf was looking for me?" I say, with a smirk on my face. Steeljaw whips around and when he sees me, his eyes widen in surprise.

"How are you here with no chip to protect you from the subsonic waves?" he asks. I sigh softly.

"Maybe your subsonics aren't as good as you thought they were", I say as I move past him, stepping so lightly and in a way that seems like I was just floating wind. Steeljaw stares at me as I inspect his pack.

"Got a motley gang of thieves here, don't ya, Steeljaw?" I tease as I walk past each of the cons, pausing briefly at Thunderhoof, glancing at his horns.

"Nice rack", I say. Denny coughs back a laugh as I turn back to look at Steeljaw as I lean against the command center. "Even still, you won't succeed."

"And why won't I?" Steeljaw asks as he moves closer to me. I roll my eyes as if it was so obvious.

"One, you can't even keep track of your captives", I say as I point to the spot Denny and Russell had just been. Steeljaw gapes at where they had been and growls.

"Thunderhoof, Clampdown", he orders. "Locate the prisoners! Now!"

I chuckle softly. "As I was saying, Steeljaw, you can't keep track of your captives, and two, you can't even locate a single techno-organic. That's pretty sad, isn't it? Especially since there are so much better things you could be doing." I move over to him and gently run my digits under his chin. He was definitely surprised but definitely seem to enjoy it.

"Underbite, Fracture, go search for that techno-organic", Steeljaw says, but his voice was soft, quiet as he kept his optics on my ever moving body. I refused to stay in one place for too long in case Steeljaw managed to corner me. Though I knew even if he did, I had a few tricks up my sleeve. Er... I technically don't have a sleeve right now...  oh well, you know what I mean.

"Starblazer, what are you doing?" Fix-it asks.

"So that's your name", Steeljaw says as we circle each other. I was preparing for an attack, though I knew Steeljaw wasn't. I don't know what he was preparing for. "Starblazer. It suits you."

I smirk. "Yeah, well, it's only a pseudonym. Wanna know what my real name is?" I was basically purring now, but it was only fake. I could never, just ew. But it was turning out to be very helpful, because I was able to take Steeljaw off his guard.

"I have always wanted to know your real name since I met you", Steeljaw murmurs, moving straight for me now. He wraps an arm around my waist, and pulls me close. I let out a small gasp, not having expected it.

"My name is...." I pause for a moment, getting ready to kick him away. "My name is 'I'M GONNA KICK YOUR AFT!'

I kicked myself away from him, and pulled out the Decepticon Hunter, it turning into the Star Saber. Steeljaw's optics widen as he realizes it had all been a ploy. I pointed the Star Saber at him only to leap up as I sense something charging at me. Thunderhoof plows right into Steeljaw, angering Steeljaw.

"How in the pits where you able to tell he was coming up behind you?!" Steeljaw yells. I sigh, shaking my head, before pointing to my antennae.

"You really aren't that smart, are you, Steeljaw", I mutter, turning away.

"Where have I seen those wings and antennae before...? Not just when I tried to kidnap you in the woods, but..." Steeljaw pauses, and I glance back at him, my optics going wide at the smirk on his face. "You're the techno-organic, aren't you?"

I roll my eyes as I fully turn around. "Woah, Steeljaw. I'm not a techno-organic. Not even close. How would a half-human, half-cybertronian turn into a full-fletched cybertronian?"

Steeljaw smirks. "Anything is possible. Including the love between a techno-organic and a Prime."

My optics widen as I realized where he could have known that. The museum on Cybertorn. Steeljaw laughs.

"Oh, yes, dear Astraea, I went to the museum on Cybertron occasionally. I know who you are. It didn't take long for me to figure it out. I mean, you are the only techno-organic in existence."

I take a step back, only to notice that there were two cons behind me. Steeljaw steps forward.

"Now, if you please... Hand over the Decepticon Hunter",  Steeljaw says. I glare at him, pretending to go to hand it to him, before I toss it high up into the air. I punch Steeljaw, and leap forward, transforming into my predacon form and grabbing the Decepticon Hunter in my claws. I fly up as I as I possibly can before moving away from the scrapyard. At least, until I saw Bee and Drift standing on a cliff above the command center. I fly over to them before dropping the Decepticon Hunter next to Bee. He looks around, and sees me, so I transform, allowing myself to drop a few feet to the ground.

"So... there might be a slight problem", I murmur. Bee tilts his head to the side.

"Steeljaw knows I'm Astraea..." I mutter. Bee sighs before focusing back on what they were doing. I ignored them and studied what was going on in the scrapyard by the command center. Not much, at least, not much until a mini-con was thrown into the fray. And then a second one. That was their plan to get the sonic field down. Bee honestly wasn't sure it would work. They all run to the front of the scrapyard, Bee already with his Decepticon Hunter. I flew threw, and grabbed the others Decepticon Hunters and dropped them into their hands. They hesitantly started forward before runnning through, only to stop when all the 'cons except Steeljaw appeared.

Bee instantly told us to keep them occupied which is what we did. Sideswipe took on Thunderhoof, Grimlock and Charcoal took on Clampdown, Drift took on Fracture, and Strongarm and I took on Underbite. It was actually a quick fight for everyone, being able to get their Decepticons down within seconds. We run to the command center, and Bee is fighting with Steeljaw, them rolling on the ground several times. I saw the stasis chambers opening and instantly started fighting to keep the Decepticons inside, the others coming to help me. After a few moments, the pods closed and we all let out a breath of relief.

"Looks like your army's deserted you, Steeljaw", Bee says as he looks at us. Steeljaw roars and throws Bee to the side, attempting to leave but we all blocked his way.

"I will give the Decepticons their own world. This world!" Steeljaw exclaims. "And I shall rule them!"

I chuckle softly. "Oh, Steely, you just don't get it, do you? We're going to be here to stop you every step of the way. So don't get your hopes up too high."

Both of Fracture's mini-cons knocked Bee down, and Steeljaw transformed, the mini-cons hopping onto him to escape. I try to catch them, but fail, and they drive out of here. We stop at the entrance to the scrapyard, watching them drive away.

"We should pursue them", Drift says.

"No", Bee says. "Our first priority is securing our prisoners by re-setting the scrapyard defense. Steeljaw can wait."

Russell and Denny come walking up and Bee turns to them. "Russell, Denny, if it weren't for you, we'd have had our drive modules handed to us on a plate."

Denny starts off speaking modestly, but even I know that's not like him. "Please, my son and I are just your average, everyday humans..." He pauses for a moment before leaping up into the air. "Who transcend their physical limits, and go to any lengths to secretly protect their planet!" There's the Denny I know. Russell shakes his head, though he's obviously amused. I swear, Denny's child is more grown up than Denny is sometimes.

"Well, this is the most exciting day I've had all week", I say with a smile. Everyone chuckles at that, causing me to grin even more.

'Oh, Optimus, I wish you could've seen what I did today. That was actually really hard...'

'But you did splendidly.'

My heart jumps a little at his almost immediate response, but I couldn't think of anything else I could say to him. But I kept his words in my heart, happy that he thought that. That helped me more than spending an entire week away from the scrapyard did. And with that, some words came to me to tell Optimus.

'Thank you, Optimus. Thank you so much.'
