Emma groaned as her phone started ringing. She sat up still half asleep and started searching for the offending object on the shelf above her bed. It was Saturday and she planned on sleeping in so the piercing wake-up call annoyed her. Finally finding the phone she checked the name. With a heavy sigh, she answered the call.

"Girl, it's early" Emma was already laying down and closing her eyes fully intending to get rid of Julia fast.

"Emma, get your ass over to the Eiffel tower now!" The sound of fighting caught Emma's attention. She stood up and replied with excitement coloring her voice.

"I'm gonna be right there. Let me just..." She put the phone down on the table and started getting dressed. "What did I miss?" she asked while putting on her shirt.

"Ladybug encountered a Miraculous user. He isn't one of the friendly ones" Julia summed up the events. "It has been going for a while. I waited for you to see it on the news but it has been about an hour now." For a moment Emma stared at the phone.

"I was sleeping. It is Saturday after all" she decided to answer instead of questioning how the heroes haven't defeated someone in an hour.

"Stop whining and drag your butt over here before they finish. You're the reporter not me, and we need an interview" Emma picked up the phone and ran out of the apartment rolling her eyes.

"Are you sure it's not the fact that last time Chat noir walked up to me and not you?" her giggle was muffled as she tried to stop it.

"No" The eye roll was ringing through the voice of Julia. "See you in a bit," she said before ending the call.

Emma ran towards the bus stop to catch the bus that was currently parking. A tiny creature flew after her, taking care not to be seen by anyone. Its flight was hardened by the weight of a feather medal. The tiny phoenix never entered the bus, instead hid on top of it waiting for the right moment.

The bus was stopped by the police so everyone got off. The little golden creature followed Emma's route still not revealing itself. Emma ran off towards an alleyway but to her bad luck, it was also barricaded.

"Young lady, the scene is under quarantine until Ladybug and the heroes defeat the threat" the cop standing there stopped her.

"My friend is there and I need to get to her. She can get into way too much trouble." It wasn't the full reason but Emma was seriously concerned about Julia's physical health.

"Look, I appreciate your concern and willingness but it is way too dangerous to go there right now. If you would like to watch the fight, you can do that from the main road" Things have improved greatly since the first super-villain attack, and the authorities now cordoned off any and every fight early on.

"I can say goodbye to that interview after all" Emma wanted to interview Rena Rouge for months now, but never succeeded as the heroine had attracted attention from real reporters.

She went out to where the bus was turned around and made her way to the front. There were fewer people than usual as the fight was going on for a while. She looked in the direction of the fight and tried to figure out what could the guy's power be that Ladybug couldn't defeat quickly.

As she was watching, the villain looked in their direction. A glint caught Emma's attention. The supervillain's eyes locked on a person on her right and they started glowing. The man beside Emma started wavering and his blinking got slower. Emma immediately pushed the man aside looking into the eyes of the raven-themed Miraculous holder challengingly.

The raven smirked and the glow flared then blew out and Emma found herself battling to stay awake. And more, her brain was starting to remember her worst nightmare ever. She felt that if she fell asleep she would not wake up from the nightmare and that could potentially be catastrophic.

As she fought her own mind she fell to her knees. She looked at the ground and was about to give up when someone with black boots landed in front of her. She managed to gather enough strength to look up. She met the eyes and sympathetic smile of Rena rouge who immediately offered her a hand.

"Everyone, go home" she yelled out while helping Emma up. "If you get caught in the crossfire this villain could kill you" Emma was unable to gather information from her surroundings.

"Don't you fall asleep on me now" Rena said looking into Emma's eyes.

"I... I'm..." Emma didn't have the strength to finish

"Ladybug, we need something here. This kid got herself in trouble again" Rena said still holding Emma. Ladybug looked over and yelled out to Chat noir.

"Chat, cover us" She swung over taking Emma away from Rena

"As you wish M'lady" the answer was a little late but still earned an eye roll from Ladybug.

"Emma right?" she asked focusing all her attention on the half-asleep teenager. Emma only nodded although it delighted her that the heroes knew her name. "Do you know what nightmare he made you see?" another nod from Emma "Do you die in it?" the girl was afraid of that question as it only confirmed her suspicions. She nodded slowly, closing her eyes. When she realized it she forced them open once more but it was apparent that she won't last long. "That's gonna be problematic. Let me try something" Ladybug took out her yo-yo and took the monkey miraculous out of it. Combining its power with Tikki's she touched Emma's head with the ridicule object.

She woke up as weird but mostly calming images appeared in her brain.

"Thank you Ladybug," Emma said sitting upright.

"What were you thinking? You don't have any superpowers. You could have easily been killed. Again." Ladybug sounded like a mother to Emma.

"Sorry Ladybug but I had to. That guy was going to give in" She couldn't just sit and do nothing, even if it meant putting herself in harm's way.

"I admire your courage but you have to be more careful. This is the tenth time you put yourself on the front line. Go home and rest. We'll deal with this" Ladybug turned to Rena. "Take her home, please. I need to think clearly"

"Thank you Ladybug," Emma said one more time as Rena grabbed her and started jumping from roof to roof.

"Girl, you are almost as reckless as I was before becoming a superhero," Rena said after a while.

"Is that a compliment?" Emma smirked

"Maybe, although your friend takes the cake" Emma rolled her eyes. Julia was reckless to the point where most of the time it was her Emma had to save from harm.

"She isn't lazy" she responded sarcastically. They arrived at Emma's apartment and Rena put her down.

"Yeah, that helps. Although from what I saw, she'd be long gone without you." Emma was speechless. Her favorite hero was complimenting her. "Keep it up and maybe one day you can be a superhero too" Rena winked before leaving.

When Emma was hit, the creature that was following her left and raced towards the girl's home. It was time for the choice to be made, so the phoenix chose the only place Emma would notice a necklace. Her room. When Rena dropped Emma off, the creature was already gone, leaving only the necklace behind on Emma's desk. The girl didn't see it immediately as she laid down to rest until Ladybug fixed everything.

Rena went back towards the Eiffel tower, although she heard through the comms that the fight was over. Ladybug was already talking with Julia, the current writer of the Lady blog. Rena couldn't help but smile at the little girl's antics.

Arriving at the scene she signaled to Ladybug that they need to talk. The hero finished talking and said goodbye to Julia. They started swinging away from the scene towards their homes.

"Your daughter is just like you," Rena said when they finally got to a point where she could catch up to Ladybug.

"I was gonna say she's like you" Ladybug smiled at Rena

"Nope, that would be Julia. Pretty sure Emma only comes here to protect her." Chat chimed in winking when the two girls stopped to look at him. After that, they descended from the top of the buildings.

"But how could I make her stop?" Ladybug asked before de-transforming in an alleyway My attention can not be split on every single mission trying to see when Emma will do something stupid." She walked out making sure no one saw where she came from.

"You could always give her a Miraculous, it helped me calm my antics a little" Alya said following her friend.

"She's fifteen" Marinette argued

"How old were you when Master Fu chose you?" Alya raised an eyebrow. "Besides, I didn't mean permanently, just for one mission" she put a hand on Marinette's shoulder. They arrived at Alya's home and stopped outside the gate.

"Rena is right Bugaboo," Adrien said grinning.

"You should be more careful with these names" Alya frowned

"Let's go home and check on her for now." Marinette was still worried about her daughter. "That dream haunts her even without someone showing it to her on purpose."

"Oh. Are you sure it's that dream?" Alya asked worry flooding her expression. They were all familiar with Emma's recurring nightmare.

"Her eyes said everything." Marinette looked down at the road. "And besides, she's my daughter." she smiled at Alya "We should really go and see how she feels."

"Catch you later then. Nino is waiting for me anyway" Alya said opening the gate and waving goodbye to her friends.

"She will figure out sooner or later you know." Adrien put his hand on Marinette's shoulder as they started walking toward their house. "You are way too protective of her as Ladybug" he explained upon seeing her confused expression.

"But she shouldn't know just yet. She is like you too you know. If she knew, she'd just follow us every time being worried" Marinette said.

"Exactly why giving her the dog now would be our best move" Adrien was the sound voice in cases like this which created a nice contrast to their hero dynamic.

"Adrien, you know what it did to us. I can't subject my daughter to that kind of pain"

"She will get herself into trouble for others whether you like it or not. Just give her a chance." Marinette understood why Adrien wanted to give this kind of freedom to their daughter but she wasn't happy about putting Emma in harm's way just to prove a point to her.

"I won't tell her yet, but I will give her the miraculous for the next mission." She finally gave in as they walked into their home.

They went to check on Emma and found the girl fast asleep in her room. They didn't want to disturb her, knowing how hard it was on her after seeing her worst nightmare while she was still awake. She looked peaceful in her sleep and they were happy that nothing too bad happened to her.
