Experiment, Chapter Five: Aftermath *Snugglemagne*
"My king, we have taken Darkness to our dungeons."
"Excellent. Thank you for your hard work," the king told the captain of his guard, who bowed in reply, "It is of no problem to me, my king. Forgive my incompetence in protecting you from your assailant."
"Do not fret regarding that. You are still a beginner, but your skills have grown, Keita," he reassured the wolf as he smiled. "What matters now is that we have taken down Darkness, and everyone is safe. Now, go get some rest. Your injuries have not healed, have they?"
"N-No my king," The wolf's owl wings lowered at that statement. "Will you be fine during this timespan, though?"
"I will be fine, so do not think too much regarding this matter. I require some alone time with Moonflower anyway," he said. "Now off you go. Gather your men and have them rest."
"I will, thank you, my king," Keita smiled back before he flew out of the wrecked throne room, leaving Snugglemagne alone.
He then turned around and headed deeper into the palace. The padded footsteps echoed through the silent walls. A lot of people had been hurt by Darkness, so he was relieved that Night and he had taken her down.
However, it did leave one question behind; what now? What was Night going to do? After all...
She had told him of her desire to seek out her relatives despite the vague fuzziness that surrounded them.
He closed his eyes. No, the better question, although selfish, was what was HE going to do, should Night leave him?
Did he WANT her to leave?
....
Of course not. Of course not, but this was for her happiness, so she could find out who she was, and he wouldn't be a gentleman if he tried to push his greedy wants onto her.
"Snuggleberry?" He was snapped out of his trance as he looked at Night, who had turned over from the balcony edge.
"Moonflower," he smiled as he walked over. "Have you already packed?"
"Not many things," she reported, but adjusted the silver cloak he had gifted her with a flush, "Thank you for cloak though."
"It might be chilly when you travel to your aunt's place, so I got this cloak to ensure otherwise," he reassured her.
"Thank you," she repeated. "You save me, you guide me, you.... love me. Thank you, Snuggleberry."
"It is not a problem, Moonflower, for as the moon above us right now, your eyes shine splendidly," he gently placed a paw on her cheek, and she leaned into it, her paw touching his as they looked into the other's eyes deeply.
"I... miss you, but I come back," she suddenly said. "Is okay?"
"Of course," he nodded. "I will wait a thousand years for you, Moonflower, because I know you are the one. The love of my life you are and let you go I will not."
She flushed hard, but soon she leaned over and their foreheads touched as their lips grew closer and closer...
Until they touched, and they shared a passionate kiss under the full moon.
No matter how far apart they were, they would always come back to the other. This was the person who had given them something worth fighting for, and they weren't going to let others hurt their beloved.
After all, home is where the heart is, and the heart will always come back to the home no matter how many times it tries to run.
So Snugglemagne would wait for months on end, wait for her return. Sometimes he sparred, others he just did whatever, but other than that, he waited patiently.
And when he saw her enter the valley, he jumped for joy and rushed at her, hugging her and giving her a long, passionate kiss despite her bemused relatives watching the admittedly embarrassing scene.
Their story, seemingly at a standstill, continued and continued on, even if she was a legendary villainess. It didn't make him love her less.
He loved her to the ends of the world and NO ONE could change that. No one.
Okay, I loved that quote and HAD to add it in!
Anyway, let's see if I can finish the final chapter today or whenever! But have fun with this during that time!
