Also it looks like RoT may overtake TGD in reads before I even finish it. I'm actually super happy about this because 1) it means turn out has been good and 2) Roses and Thorns is objectively a better composed, written, and executed story on every imaginable level.

English class doodle of... well, bipedal Rena. Not quite anthro but I might go there sometime...

More English class doodles. Have a manticore and a Full!Cherubim. 

I've always been a little uncomfortable with human faces on animals, so I think the mask thing is a nice compromise when it comes to manticores. I might be more comfortable later but I also think this looks pretty sweet

As for the cherubim, for people who haven't really been paying attention (I don't blame you lmao), they're from my story Deja Vu and they're sort of like... guides to the new heroes? Basically that crystal between their horns is like their source of power and they can split it between humans, who they use to go retrieve... more crystals.

Saying the word 'crystal' is irritating to me at this point after writing Roses and Thorns. I need NAMES for all these fancy minerals , dammit!

You can catch this one in their dormant form down in the bottom right of the last picture- all the Cherubim (all four of them ha) are based off of card suits. The only two in Deja Vu are diamond (Ameratsu/Anthem) and spades (Sihloh) but I've planned the other two, who don't have names yet. Heart in particular is freaking terrifying. 

Those bullet wounds are from one of their own heroes.

This is why cherubim usually target teenagers- apparently, adults are a lot less willing to cooperate.

Fun fact- Amanda from Team Omega (left) and Megan from Team Alpha (right) actually know each other really well and get closer to telling each other about the superhero thing than the twins do, multiple times. They used to be mortal enemies, seeing as in middle school they ran rivaling fandom clubs, but there's only one 'fandom' related club in their highschool, the Naval Brigade (they discuss ships and canon). 

I love them.

No, they can't fuse in the book, but that's never stopped me before.

It's funny because they look so much alike and their fusion is just (quoting a friend here) "either one of them but with more arms"

Still had a lot of fun drawing them. I even made Evan's horns look a little more like Cherubim horns for ironic symbolism

Anyways in case I haven't mentioned it yet Daisy Eudica is a national treasure and putting her POV in the book was one of the best decisions I've made thus far

all my friends who have OCs for my series have collectively agreed that the Water Canira are the gold standard so I drew some lovely water-based Canira ladies.  Been a while since I touched River but there she is and she's Not Happy (bottom right)

Not sure if I'm going to merge Lumi (above) with this other concept I had for a character who can only exist in the mindscape of other people and is stuck moving from subconscious to subconscious but it's definitely an idea 

TODAY IN CHRONA HISTORY

Anyhow so in fifth grade my friends and I made a bunch of collab stories and by far the longest, most ambitious, and least successful was the Spirits Rising series (renamed Heaven's Aria since). Basically if you took Pokemon and Digimon... and then made it a Dreamland... then...

It was really weird and half formed but I figured if I made it it's own IP instead of leaning it against my other stories and made it so there were representatives from both worlds... then it might actually work. So I reworked the love interest (Von) a bit and then started working on some of the creature designs.

I'd go into more detail as to what was going on in the original but it was way too much of a cluttered mess even for me, the goddess of cluttered messes.

(Also have I talked about Something Else because I feel like sooner or later I'm going to have to tell you guys about that, that was a good time)

Another character from Heaven's Aria. Abyss/Abigail, like all the other... creatures we got goin'... is a shapeshifter. She's also a spy for an underground rebellion against the regime that foretold the protagonist (Ava) was going to either save or destroy the bond between worlds. It's apparently really hard to make a case for yourself when you're firmly on the 'destroy' side.

She also has a bit of a crush on Ava herself so between her and Von (who is super, super devoted to the regime) we have a Really Great Love Triangle 

i need to stop making A-names I don't know why but lately it just keeps HAAAAAAAAPPENING.

So I'm sorry for not being around, but honestly I quit a lot of my Wattpad obligations lately and I don't think I've ever been happier when I *do* post. The environment around here is quite suffocating and I feel like a lot of people who do actual work are getting stifled under the weight of easily consumed garbage and repetitive, derivative plots.

This is when people are even making any kind of media. Hell, half the stuff in this corner isn't even books.

My schedule is going to be much the same if not more rigorous, but expect me to be updating my writing before anything else, and I've been planning a looooot of projects. Glad to have you all along for the ride.
