Y/n : " * still has the same gentle smile on his face * Good night, my precious little Rose", he whispered to her, before he had laid his head back on his own soft pillow letting the sleep to consume him.

Author's POV

The next morning Y/n had woken up next to Ruby that was actually snuggled close to him in her sleep, snoring softly as if she was a baby.

Y/n : ' * In his mind* She's just so cute', he thought to himself smiling softly at her and averting his gaze from her, not wanting to seem like a creep has she woken up when he was looking at her.

He had then stood up and stretched a little bit, getting the tension off of his body and had dressed up in his school uniform.

He had then opened the curtains of the room, seeing that the sun was up, meaning that he had to wake up the rest of his team. Great.

He had to first of all try to wake up the one that wouldn't do that much noise and between the others and Blake, yeah,... he could probably try to wake her up first.

Y/n : ' *In his mind * Why does she have a yarn near her?', he thought to himself and smirked slightly, having a mischievous idea in his mind to solve this mystery.

He had untied slightly the yarn, leaving a small woolen string of it to be there and proceeded to slightly tickle Blake with it and to his surprise, she had woken up and started to PLAY WITH IT.

Blake's POV

I was currently taking a nap, but something small and wooly was touching my nose. I don't know why but my feline instincts went to complete overdrive almost as if they were saying 'play PLAY P L A Y!!' to me and before I even knew it, I had begun to play with it.

I had woken up and before me, I saw Y/n smirking slightly at me, trying his best not to laugh and at his hands was my yarn. Oh f***.

Y/n : " * whispers to her * Wakey wakey little kitty", he said to me and I could hear the smirk in his tone.

Me : " Good morning Y/n", I grumbled, getting up and getting my yarn off of his hands, proceeding to get it as hidden as possible in my bed.

Author's POV

(A/n : Stop the previous music and begin with this one)

After some time, Y/n had managed to wake up Yang and Weiss, on Yang's case it wasn't that easy since the blonde was a REALLY heavy sleeper and ironically enough the only way to wake her up was actually a simple one. Basically the tickling way.

He had then tried to do the same thing for Weiss as well, but let's just say that this didn't made her feel that grateful for the rather playful awakening, but she had mostly just greeted Y/n with almost kicking him in the no no square and a pillow to the face, when she saw that he was away.

Finally it was time to wake up Ruby who had mysteriously slept through all of the commotion. He had approached closer to her and sat by her side on the bed.

Y/n : " * whispers * Wake up little  cookie", he whispered to her ear, trying to wake her up.

Ruby : " Nuu", she whined, getting the other pillow on her head, trying to not hear him which actually elicited a playful chuckle from the tri colored teen who took the pillow out of her hands.

Y/n : " * whispers * Wake up my little rose and I'll give you some cookies", he said to her calmly, giving her a small kiss on her cheek and then got back waiting for her to wake up in three, two, on-...

Ruby : " * wakes up * COOKIES!!" she said, jolting up to a sitting position, but seeing that Y/n had snickered slightly, having his hands behind him, she had pouted slightly.

Ruby : " * looks at Y/n * No cookies?", she asked solemnly, her eyes were wide as if she was ready to cry.

Y/n : " * stops snickering * Hey, hey don't start the waterworks now, could you?", he asked her politely, seeing Ruby sighing.

Y/n : " * smirks slightly * Well then, you make it look like you don't want to get them", he said to her, showing his hands and revealing a packet of cookies with chocolate chips. Ruby's favorite, making the younger silver eyed girl to hug him saying about A MILLION thank you WITHOUT taking a break to take a breath.

(A/n : Y/n's POV)

We were at Ozpin's office after being summoned there by him. He had told us that our mission was to find a mercenary with the nickname of 'Shadow Guardian' and bring him back to Beacon with us.

He had then, after Blake's request, showed us how he looked like, making Ruby to yelp and actually jump on me, making both of us to blush HARD from embarrassment and the fact that I didn't thought that she would actually do it.

(A/n : That's how his mask looks like)

Ruby : " * looks at Y/n * U-Umm, Y/n? Could you please let me go?", she asked me.

I obliged at her words and let her go since it was a bit too much flustered case for me to hold her bridal style and a massive (A/n : Pun definitely not intended) reason for Yang to tease the both of us.

A Yang without so many reasons to tease me and everything that ever existed is a good person in my book.

(A/n : Still in Y/n's POV)

We have arrived at the destination that Ozpin had shown us, looking around for any kind of things that would actually reveal to us some basic information about the Semblance of the mercenary that we're trying to find.

Weiss : " This is just tedious. I'm pretty sure that Ozpin had wanted us to find about the existence of an urban legend.", she said.

Me : " * looks at Weiss * Can't you stop complaining about it for once?", I said to her, pushed to near groaning levels by her attitude.

Weiss :" I'm just stating the obvious fact that Ozpin has sent us to what seems like a literal ghost hunt. Dear Oum, even trying to find evidence of Bigfoot would be easier than that. ", she groaned.

Me : " * his eyes turned from crimson to blood red for a split second * Could you reply what you said? I've lost track of your words since the only thing I heard from you was blah blah blah and pointless whining. ", I said to her.

(A/n : Author's POV)

Blake :" Alright that's enough between the two of you. Seriously now, are you supposed to be teenagers? Because all I see from you right now is a bunch of babies that are throwing a tantrum!! ", she said to them infuriated.

Y/n : " * points to Weiss * She started it ", he said.

Weiss :" * points to Y/n * He started it ", she said and they went back and forth for a long time, long enough for a sertain blonde to lose control of her Semblance due to anger for a moment.

(A/n : Just like that, but change the background to outside of Vale)

Yang :" Ugh!!!! Can't you just stop behaving like babies and be more calm!? We're on a mission for Oum's sake!!!!", she yelled.

Y/n : " * rolls his crimson eyes to her shenanigans * Pretty ironic coming from the one who has practically zero control over her Semblance whilst angry ", he said to her.

Yang :" Is that so!? But at least I didn't tried to kill someone else when I lost control of my Semblance ", she retorted, having ironically enough Blake to try to hold her back from lashing out.

Y/n on the other hand had growled lowly at her words but didn't tried to provoke her any further, although she did so already.

Ruby was seeing that the team was slowly falling apart and she also didn't want for Y/n to lash out on someone or worse have HER NIGHTMARE that haunted her sleep a day ago to become a cruel reality. The thought of it alone had sent a million shivers down her spine, shivers that she chose to ignore.

Ruby : " * sighs * I think that it would be a lot better if we had split up for this one. I'll go with Y/n and the rest of you will be the other team. If someone finds anything then we'll have to get back together.", she said to them and they split up in groups and went their way.

(A/n : First path, Ruby's and Y/n's team)

(A/n : Still in Author's POV)

Y/n and Ruby had gone towards the left side of the building, the hall in there was full of dust yet extremely moist and dark as if someone had to visit it in a really long time.

Ruby : " * looks around * This place looks kind of chilly * shivers *", she said to him, hugging herself, trying to warm herself up from the slightly cold atmosphere.

Y/n : " * nods * I know, but we still have to try and find evidence of The Shadow Guardian that Ozpin had told us about. ", he said to her calmly as he begun to look around for any potential evidence until they were in front of a massive dark brown colored gate.

Y/n :" * looks at Ruby* Brace yourself and stand behind me, just in case there's someone else in there except for us.", he said to her calmly, in a reassuring way that he would be by her side to this.

Ruby : " * tilts her head * Who else could have been in here except for us and the rest of our team? ", she asked him politely, unsure of what he meant by saying that there would be 'someone else' in there.

Y/n : "* sighs softly * Go figure. This place was starting to give me some unsafe vibes since when we've first gotten in here. ", he explained to her calmly and pressed slightly on the knob, opening the door with a slight creaking noise.

Once they've gotten into the massive room, they could clearly see that it is basically a massive dining hall, but by the thrown chairs, broken tables and the obvious dents on the walls showed signs of either vandalism or battle.

Y/n : " * approaches a wall * Ruby, could you please come and look at this one as well?", he asked her politely and she obliged.

Ruby : " * touches the mark on the wall * That's impossible..." ,she said to him.

(A/n : With the group of Blake, Weiss and Yang, still in Author's POV )

Yang, Weiss and Blake had gone through the right corridor, getting to a place that looked almost like a massive living room, this place was also destroyed by the same being who destroyed the rest of the place.

Weiss : " * rolls her blue eyes to Yang's comment * How is it not possible to happen? The place itself is pretty much ruined.", she exclaimed.

(A/n : Yang had a similar reaction to Ruby seeing the scars on different places in the rooms)

Yang : " The reason is that both I and Ruby actually might know about the mercenary who did those scars. We were even going to the same academy as he was. The Signal Academy.", he said to her.

Blake : " * raises an eyebrow * How are you so sure about it?", she asked her in an inquisitive manner.

(A/n : Back with Ruby and Y/n since their words and reactions were basically the same)

Y/n :" * looks at her * Who was he then?", he asked her politely.

Ruby :" An old friend of mine and Yang's, someone who Yang had saved from the bullies back at Signal. His name is...", she said to him, but instantly stopped and got her weapon, Crescent Rose into its scythe form and blocked at a blade that manifested from the shadow as the entire room was full of shadows that turned into samurai.

Y/n :" We'll have to get out, it's to dangerous to fight them in here since I'm the only one who's partially impervious to damage from the both of us even without aura.", he said to her as they proceeded to bolt outside of the mansion.

(A/n : With Weiss, Yang and Blake)

Weiss :" * blocks a katana swipe with Myrtenaster (A/n : Sorry if I butchered it's name) * Is this some kind of an edge lord prank!? ", she asked infuriated.

Blake : " I think that we should retreat out of the mansion and reunite with the others", she said to them using her weapon, Gambol Shroud in its katana form to counter a sword attack and then turned it into its gun form to try and knock off balance two other shadow samurai.

Yang : " I'm not going anywhere without my sister!!!", she said to her angrily as she had reactivated her Semblance and punched one of the samurai.

Blake : " It would be a better thing to tactically retreat into a more open place so that we could fight more effectively since now if we get outnumbered and end up with broken auras, we'll be as good as dying for nothing.", she said to them as both Weiss and Yang had reluctantly heard about what she said and obliged.

(A/n : Outside of the mansion, still in Author's POV )

Once they were outside of the mansion Y/n, Yang, Ruby, Blake and Weiss were finally reunited with one another.

Yang : " * sighs softly * Thank Oum that you are okay and fine", she said with relief towards Ruby.

Ruby : " Same goes to you big sis", she said to her calmly.

Y/n : " * rolls his eyes to their shenanigans * I know that you are both glad to have one another yet again, but it's not the time for things like that right now.", he said to them, making Yang to groan.

Blake : " * looks at Yang * As much as I would hate to admit it, he's right. Look. ", he said to them as they turned their attention towards the mansion, from the likes of which many shadow samurai were starting to be formed outside, every single one of them was looking at them pointing their razor sharp katanas to the team's direction.

Weiss : " Oum damn it. There's no end to this things!!!", she said in a frustrated way, seeing that they were many times more than before.

Blake : " First of all we'll have to find who's responsible for summoning them.", she said in a calm yet collective way of thought.

Y/n :" It appears that we won't have to try to find them any further. * looks towards the roof * Look up.", he said to them and on the roof of the abandoned mansion was someone who was wearing the same mask as the one that they had seen from the picture that Ozpin had shown them. The Shadow Guardian himself.

(A/n : Blake's POV)

'Wait a second? Is the Shadow Guardian working with them or are the samurai bound to him like a Semblance to its wielder?', I thought to myself as I saw that he had jumped from the roof of the building, landing on the ground below.

Weiss : " * gets into a battle position * Oh Oum, here we go again.", she muttered with a small sigh.

We had seen that Ruby and Yang were approaching him, not intimidated either by his appearance or the massive amount of shadow samurai that were close to him, almost as if they were protecting him.

Ruby :" We had came here to find you because our headmaster had requested your appearance. We're not here to fight against you or criticize you.", she said to him, making the masked one to scoff.

??? : " And why would he try to do that? Does he want to use my Semblance to his own ends? Having me to be used as either a mercenary or a tool once again? ", he asked her mockingly, every word that slipped from his mouth was as if it coated in venomous poison.

Weiss :" Why don't you just calm down and come with us you dolt! ", she said to him as he had pointed one of his swords towards her.

(A/n : His sword that he had pointed towards Weiss )

??? : " Don't even dare to try to get me by your side Schnee. I know what your family had done to the faunus so I won't think of it twice if I wish to slice your throat open and let you die as a cruel revenge for the insurmountable amount of lives that your family had ruined via their notorious faunus labor ", he growled towards her and to my surprise I saw that a tail was slowly moving behind him. He was also a faunus, just like me.

Yang :" * recognized the voice * Wait a second, I remember that voice. The same one from an old friend of ours back at Signal.", she said calmly. 'What did she found out about? ', I thought to myself.

Ruby : " * looks at him * Rancor is that you?", she asked him politely and we've seen that his eyes had widened slightly in surprise behind his face mask.

Rancor :" How do you know that name?", he asked her with a low growl.

Ruby : " I know that because we both were going back to Signal Academy together. I'm Ruby Rose and she's Yang Xiao Long, the ones that were your friends back then.", she said to him calmly.

A/n : Hello everyone Son Raon here and I present to you the latest chapter of my story called Remnant's Pharaoh with the title New Arrival (Part 1).
In case all of you were confused about who's Rancor, I've got to say that he's not my OC, but an OC of a follower of mine, named BloodWarden the credit goes to him for wanting me to place his OC in my story.
The other thing that I wanted to tell you about is that I'm sorry for not updating the book earlier on, but since I had to both find a way to introduce Rancor in the story, along with reading for TWO examinations is way too taxing for my mind.
