*Crickets chirping in the distance*
Erm... Well, to whoever still reads this story, enjoy this chapter!
"Is everyone done with voting?" Kathy yelled as she pulled off a Jim and stood on a table.
There were murmurs of 'yeah's as the cadets dropped their chits into the ballot box.
Hopping of the table, Kathy strode over to the box titled Romeo and opened it, proceeding to count the votes.
"Honestly, why am I even surprised", she mumbled to herself before looking towards the cadets.
"Well, I guess the one playing Romeo will be Jim!."
Many groans were heard from the men while the women squealed, making Kathy roll her eyes.
"Oh get over it people, what's done is done. Now, for the rest of the cast!"
And finally, a list was formed, with every character casted apart from the female protagonist.
"What about Juliet?" Someone called out from the back, their voice sounding funny.
Huh, that must be Tristan...
"Well", Kathy said with a smirk, "I saved the best for the last."

Chloe tried not to smirk as she listened to Kathy speak. Stupid girl hadn't even realised how easy it was for Chloe to rig the ballots in her favour.
Ignoring the fact that she was behaving like a cliché popular high school girl, she waited with bated breath as Kathy opened the ballot box titled 'Juliet'.
She sucked in a breath as she watched Jim grab Kathy's hand has he shook her head and grabbed the box from her, shoving it away as he turned towards the students.
"Given the fact that I'm playing Romeo, I should be the one to pick Juliet."
Murmurs of agreement resounded as Chloe resisted the urge to punch Jim in the face. Stacy was standing behind, sulking slightly. Chloe couldn't help but feel bad for her friend. Her anger flared as she remembered why Stacy was suffering, and she vowed to take revenge. This sudden turn of events was merely a set back.
With these thoughts in her mind, the girl relaxed against a desk, slightly calmer than before.

Kathy couldn't help but facepalm at Jim's behaviour. Shaking her head at the girls who were dying to be chosen as the female lead, she couldn't help but choke on air when she heard Jim's choice for the female lead.
"Are you serious?!" She spluttered, looking at her friend with wide eyes.
"Oh come on, don't look so shocked!" J said with a playful smirk as he leaned towards her.
"We have so much chemistry between us!"
Kathy looked at him blankly for a moment before smacking the back of his head.
"If you keep flirting this way, even if it's just as a joke, that girl you said you like will never like you back", Kathy hissed.
The bell rang just then, and the cadets poured out of class. Kathy could see Jim's smile faltered for a moment before he grinned at her, flinging his a arm around her shoulders as they walked out to.
"Now you don't worry about that, Kathy. I'll handle my love life in my own way."
"At this rate you won't have a love life", Kathy muttered, as she grudgingly agreed to let him do things his way.
"Cool then, it's settled", Jim said dramatically.
"Now, you will be my Juliet!"
A few people stared at them weirdly as Jim received a slap on the back of his head, again.

"Exactly how stupid do you think I am?" Jim hissed, pushing Stacy into a corner.
"Excuse me?" Stacy asked, confused.
"Did you really think that no one would find out?" Jim's grip on her arm tightened.
"F-find out what?" Stacy stuttered, feeling a little scared as she looked at Jim's furious expression.
"Are you actually going to make me say it?" Jim snapped, "I know that you messed with the ballots."
Stacy immediately began to protest, only to be shushed rudely by Jim.
"What made you behave like a bitchy teenager, I don't know. But if you ever, and I mean ever mess with Kathy, you will have to deal with me."
Before Stacy could get in a single word, Jim turned back, whispering softly.
"Also, we're over."
And with that, the Star Fleet Bad Boy walked away, leaving Ms. Popular's heart in pieces.

"Jim I'm serious I really don't think that I can play Juliet", Kathy said as they made their way to the auditorium for practice.
"OK", Jim muttered, making Kathy freeze as she turned towards him slowly.
"So you're just giving up, without a fight?"
"Isn't that what you wanted?" Jim snapped at her.
"Yes, James, but this is not like you, you don't just give up!" Kathy exclaimed.
Jim said nothing. Sighing, she grabbed her best friend's arm and pulled him to the side, forcing him to sit down next to her.
"What happened, James?"
"I broke up with Stacy", Jim said after a moment.
That sentence hung over the deserted hallway like a heavy blanket as Jim waited for Kathy's reply.
"It was for the best, Jim. By staying in a relationship with Stacy you were hurting not just her, but yourself too", Kathy muttered.
Jim hugged her suddenly, startling Kathy as he buried his face in her hair.
"Jim", Kathy mumbled as she felt him shake against her, "hey, look at me!"
She grabbed his face in her hands and looked him in the eye.
"This isn't just about Stacy, is it?"
His silence was all she needed to confirm the fact that she was right. Letting out a sigh, she stood up, pulling (or rather trying to pull) Jim up with her. She gave him a sincere smile and held his hand, squeezing it comfortingly.
"It'll be fine, you'll see! Now come on, as the main characters we must not be late for practice, right?"
"Does this mean that you're going to play Juliet?" Jim asked looking a little happier.
Kathy looked at her friend and sighed.
"Well, it's not like I have a choice", she grumbled playfully, eliciting a small laugh from Jim.
"Besides, how can I say no when Romeo himself asked me to be his Juliet?"
Jim felt his eyes widen as Kathy wiggled her eyebrows and laughed, before pulling him towards the auditorium.
"Now, follow me dearest!" Kathy exclaimed jokingly.
He looked at the woman ahead of him in wonder, before letting a shocked smile take over his expression.
He would follow this woman.... till the end of forever.
"Aww that's do sweet Jim!" Kathy exclaimed, pinching his cheeks.
Jim blinked. He hadn't realised that he had said that out loud.
"Come on bro, let's hurry!"
Jim let out a sigh and shook his head as he allowed Kathy to drag him with her.
Some things would never change, and if he was to be honest with himself, it was probably for the best.

"You know, for someone who claims to have taken drama class and acted on stage, you kind of suck at dialogue delivery", Audrey shouted.
"You know", Kathy yelled back jokingly from the stage, "for someone claims to be a psychologist, you kind of suck at comforting people."
Audrey raised her hands defensively.
"Calm down Whitlock, no need to bite my head off! I was just messing around!"
"So was I", Kathy replied reassuringly as she got down from the stage.
"What are you doing here anyways?"
"Do I need a reason to visit you, my bestest of friends!" Audrey replied dramatically.
"A) Bestest isn't an actual word and B) You do", Kathy deadpanned.
"Oh loosen up", Audrey exclaimed, patting her friend's back, "I came here to visit brother dearest, but then this play of yours caught my eye, so here I am!"
Kathy nodded at her, smiling slightly before turning back to the script in her hand.
"Romeo, oh Romeo!" Audrey began mockingly, "Wherefore art thou Romeo! Be my one true love Romeo! Fuck me Ro-"
She was cut off by a rather embarrassed Kathy who placed her hand over Audrey's mouth.
"Could you not? Your brother will kill both of us if he hears you swear."
"I heard my name", Jim said as he sauntered towards the duo, completely on character, "did you call for me, my beloved?"
He took Kathy's hand in his and placed a kiss on it. Kathy snatched her hand back immediately, rolling her eyes as she pointed at Audrey.
"Actually, she called you."
Jim and Audrey looked at each other for a moment, before Audrey let out a huff and looking away. Kathy looked between them in confusion.
"Look, I don't know what you're thinking", Audrey began, "but I will end you if you hurt her."
Jim paled for a moment, nodding solemnly before brushing past Audrey. She looked at him with a pained expression, before sighing and smiling again.
"Well, I need to get going. Bye!"
Kathy stared at the woman's retreating figure, thoroughly confused.
What was that all about?
Kathy snapped out of it when she saw Spock look at her with a quirked eyebrow. It seemed as though he too had noticed Audrey's abrupt departure. Kathy smiled nervously as he approached her.
Why is he walking towards me?! Why why whyyyy?!?!
"So...." Kathy trailed off as she looked at everything but Spock's face.
"How ya doin'?"
Kathy facepalmed mentally.
Why *slap* am *slap* I *slap* such *slap* an *slap* idiot *slap*?!?!
If you don't cut it out, you will get a concussion.
Isn't all of this happening in my head? Why would I actually get a concussion?
Of course it is happening inside your head, Kathy, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?
.... Wow, I'm losing my marbles, aren't I....
Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.
"Katherina...." Spock called put in an effort to snap her out if her daze.
Kathy's head shot towards him so quickly that she was surprised that her neck hadn't snapped. Spock realized that calling her by her first name would actually get her attention. He decided to store that away for later, for educational purposes, of course.
Who are you attempting to deceive? Spock's conscience asked him.
He didn't reply.
"Hey, Spock!" Kathy exclaimed, snapping her fingers in front of his face, making him blink rapidly at the sudden movement.
"Look who's zoning out now", she said teasingly, making Spock's ear tips turn green.
Kathy grinned as she looked at him. She realized that calling Spock by his first name would actually get his attention. She decided to store that away for later, for educational purposes, of course.
Who are you trying to fool? Her conscience snapped.
Kathy's grin faltered for a moment.
Who.... Who am I trying to fool?
She didn't have an answer for that.
So she didn't reply.
"Kathy! Get off your lazy ass and come here! We're continuing with the rehearsal!" Tristan yelled from the other side of the auditorium.
Kathy whirled around and looked right at him with a dangerous glint in her eye.
"I- I mean, well, would you please come this way so that we can continue with the rehearsal, Miss Whitlock?" Tristan stuttered out.
Kathy's glare turned into a smile in a split second as she made her way towards the stage.
"Demonic Juliet strikes again!" Jim whispered to Bones.
Kathy's smile morphed into a glare once again as she narrowed her eyes.
"Do you have something to say, James, Leonard?"
Both men gulped and quickly shook their heads, trying their best to look nonchalant at the same time. Kathy smiled at them, before slapping the back of Jim's head.
"You moron! What did you do to piss Audrey off?"
"Why must you assume that I'm at fault?!" Jim wailed as Kathy grabbed his ear and dragged him towards the stage, looking quite like a stern mother.
My friends legit make me feel like Molly Weasley, no kidding!
"That's because 99% of the time, you are at fault!" Kathy huffed.
"Ouch", Jim muttered.
"Was that for your hurting ear or your wounded ego?" Kathy asked sarcastically.
"Why must you bully me!" Jim fake- sobbed, making Kathy shake her head at his antics.
"Honestly, you are such a child."
"That's not what the women I know usually say about me", Jim said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"TMI", Kathy said, sounding disgusted.
Jim continued to wiggle his eyebrows creepily, making Kathy push his face away.
"Dude quit it and get into character!"
Jim muttered a yes ma'am' before going towards his part of the stage. Kathy's mind drifted off towards Audrey's strange behaviour. She made a mental note to ask her about it later. Her mind then drifted towards Spock, who was standing at the back of the auditorium, observing everyone (especially her, though she didn't realize that).
We are too different, they thought at the same time.
What they didn't realize, however, was the fact that they were thinking the same thing, and feeling the same emotions.
