Our lives would be another war fought?
Going through hurt and pain
Hoping for a miracle in vain.

Who ever thought
Peace would be a rare gem sought?
Constantly in darkness, eternally in night.
Hoping to see the end of this tunnel, hoping for a ray of light.

Who ever thought
Of a place with repercussions and restrictions to always worry about?
A world filled with rules, fear and hate.
Hoping that this tragedy isn't our fate.

Who ever thought
That love, talk and laughter could get you caught?
Where people are killed solely due to their race.
Hoping against hope that this dark age leaves no trace.

Who ever thought
That compassion and humanity is something that can be bought?
