Instructions
Note: This was adapted from a concept made by UnitedWarriors with additional ideas from NeonSunsets, Sunstruck_Pebbles, and WeAreElkClan.
Joining the Game
To join the game, submit your survivor OC in the next chapter. New chapters will be published on a regular basis (1-2 day intervals). The chapter will list the group stats, news, and allegiances for that day. Game commands and roleplaying are done in the comments section. One chapter represents a month while three chapters represent a season.
Roleplaying is not required and does not affect the game stats at all, but it does help to make it more fun for everyone. To roleplay, you must reply to the roleplay area comments or reply to commands. New comments should only be for game commands.
One action, such as farming, patrolling, building, defending, training, scavenging, building relationships, requires one energy point. Each healthy person gets 2 energy per day for tasks, but injury or illness can negatively affect your energy.
To do an action, you need to submit a command. Commands describe what action you are doing and who you are doing it with. They start with a "/", for example, /Scavenge alone. End your command with your name in brackets: /Scavenge alone (Wade).
An admin will then reply to the command and tell you the result, for example, "Wade went scavenging alone and found 2 food and 3 material."
Some tasks like patrolling and training are usually done in groups. Commands will only be executed when all people have replied to the command.
Example:
Ted: /Patrol with Selina and Wade (Ted).
-> [Reply] Wade: /Patrol with Ted and Selina (Wade).
-> [Reply] Selina: /Patrol with all (Selina).
-> [Reply] Admin: Ted, Selina, and Wade went patrolling together along the outer barrier. The border strength has increased by 2.
Tasks
Start all commands with "/" and end all commands with your name in brackets (not shown here, but still required).
Farming commands (Takes 1 energy)
To farm, your character must have at least level 1 farming skill, and have available farmland.
/Farm with [other person] ...
Provides food based on farming skill, 20% chance of increasing farming level by 1/4.
There is a partner farming bonus, for every 2 people that farm together, add +1 food gained.
/Farm alone
If you don't want to farm with other people you can go alone, but you will not get the partner bonus.
Scavenging commands (Takes 1 energy)
Requires at least level 1 scavenging skill and at least one other person to join.
/Scavenge with [other person] ...
Scavenging can provide food, materials, and medicine based on your characters scavenging skill. People with a higher fighting skill decrease the chance of the group being injured. You have a 20% chance of increasing scavenging level by 1/4, and a 10% chance of recruiting new people.
Fighting commands (Takes 1 energy)
Patrolling requires at least level 1 fighting, and at least one other person to join.
/Patrol with [other person] ...
Patrolling the border increases its strength by 2. Patrols need at least 2 people. People with higher fighting skill decrease the chance of the group being injured. There is a 20% chance of increasing fighting level by 1/4. The border strength naturally decreases by 3 every day, due to weather. Lower border strength increases the chance that hordes will attack the barriers, and get through to the camp. 5% chance of recruiting a new survivor.
/Clear out [building] with [other person] ...
Clear out all the zombies from a building so that it can be reclaimed later. People with higher fighting skill decrease the chance of the group being injured. There is a 20% chance of increasing fighting level by 1/4.
Training commands (Takes 1 energy)
Training one person to be at a higher skill level than the other or a book with a higher skill level than the user.
/Train {skill} with [other person]
Training increases the lower level character's skill by 1/2 or 2/4 points.
/Train {skill} using [book name]
This will increase the user's skill level by 1/4 if their skill level is lower than the book.
Relationship commands (Takes 1 energy)
Obviously, relationship commands take at least two people. Currently, this only has a roleplaying purpose if you have extra energy. Originally, this was used as a prerequisite to the "/Reproduce" command, but human babies take way too long to grow up to be anything other than a burden in the game.
/Bond with [other person] ...
This will increase the relationship level between the participants by 1
Healing commands (Takes 1 energy)
Requires at least level 1 healing skill.
/Heal [injured person]
Heals the injured person using an amount of medicine dependent on how bad the injury is. Different injuries and illnesses require different first aid skill levels. 20% chance of increasing first aid level by 1/4.
/Scavenge hospital [other person] ...
Provides medicine based on group first aid and scavenging skills. Requires at least two other people to join. Hospital scavenging missions are significantly more dangerous than normal scavenging missions. People with higher fighting skill decrease the chance of the group being injured.
Building commands (Takes 1 energy)
/Build [item/structure]
Begins the building of an item/structure immediately using up the required materials. Different items/structures require different building skill levels. 10% chance of increasing building level by 1/4.
/Work on [item]
Increases progress on building an item/structure. Unfinished items cannot be equipped and unfinished structures do not confer any benefits until they are completed.
/Reclaim [building]
Add a cleared building to the base. Each building takes up 5 free border.
Other commands
/Defend
Defend the base from an attack by randomly engaging with one of the opponents.
/Challenge [leader]
Attempt to begin a civil war event by calling on rebels. The civil war event begins if there are more or equal number of rebels to loyalists.
