I know you

Kira's P.O.V.

"Really Caleb?" I half shouted at him, it was really hard to scold him considering the fact I was half the size of him. "You cannot do that in the gym, all my friends are gonna be there and they cannot know what happened okay?" My voice was calm yet firm.

"You know, I won't tell anyone what happened right?" He lowered his head so that he could whisper it in my ear.

"I dunno, you see NOBODY knows it, AND I don't trust people." I started walking out with the building only to have him follow me like a dog on a leash.

"So you're try'na tell me that, nobody..." I could clearly sense the confused look on his face without even looking.

"No, only my brother does." I gave him a slight nod to the direction of the gym building.

"Then who do you talk to if you have to, you know...?" He played with the strap of his side bag that was slung diagonally across his chest.

"No one..." I never really had anyone to trust while growing up alone and constantly changing places till they found me.

"Well, I guess I wasn't alone." He mumbled those words out under his breath.

"What?" I frowned at him.

"Nothing, I mean sometimes you just need someone who listens, you know..." The sweet passion in his voice erupted new emotions through my body that was dormant all these years.

"You know, that's what I do, everyone comes to me if they need a shoulder to cry on or just advise or help, I really wouldn't mind another person joining that club." I crossed my arms and let out a long sigh.

"But who do YOU go to if YOU need that?" He dug his hands into his pockets.

"I guess no one really..." I never had anyone who was actually interested in listening to my problems; I mean who would want to listen to some pathetic little girl's problem.

"You should come to me." Breaking out of my thoughts I realized Caleb's face was inches away from my neck as he whispered those kind words to me.

"Doesn't it hurt your neck to talk to me?" I had to change the subject because there was no way I would ever really talk to anyone about my past or feelings.

He let out a confused laugh which crunched up his burned tanned skin on the side of his eyes, there were three folded wrinkles. I had to count, it was too cute. His jaws tensed up as his stubble cheeks tightened up revealing pearl white teeth and a slit dimple which led a trail near his chin.

STOP OGLING.

I instantly shook my head from side to side a couple of times only to realize we were heading into the gym.

"I'll see you in a bit." That smile hasn't left his lips still.

"Unfortunately." I commented while turning left to head to the girls changing rooms while the boys were on the right.

I knew that everyone was buzzing about the fact that there was someone new in the school, especially if they were hot, they were like fresh meats. Hell, I should know that I was one.

"Kira, I see you and the new guy have a thing going on? Huh? Huh? HUUHH?" Maya is the only girl I actually like in our group. She was pretty, taller than me, smart and popular, which made it easier for me to communicate with her in the group.

However, I had many "friends" outside of the group. She has light brown hair and lightly tanned skin with honey glazed eyes that Devon, the buffoon, adored.

"D-E-V-O-N" With a mischievous look on my face I spelled out Devon's name and she immediately knew what exactly I meant.

"Okay I'll shut up now, but everyone is talking about it, K." She warned me while opening her blue decorative locker that was right next to mine.

"Since when did you start listening to rumors?" Opening my plain lifeless locker I took out my black shorts and a mint green tank top from my bag and threw my bag in the locker so that I could get changed.

"I don't listen, but wanna-b Queen-b over there wants a piece of him and apparently, you seem to be in her way." I should have known that Veronica was on to Caleb the minute I saw him sitting on our table.

"Oh really?" I turned to look at her prune face. "I pity her, honestly I do, and no one likes her. She's only a cheerleader because she blackmailed Saira"

"Ohh yeah, I remember that but what does she have on Saira?" Maya was one of the many who didn't know Saira's secret. I, on the other hand, was the first to know. Although she's a senior she still came to me seeking help, which I definitely did by blackmailing Veronica. Secrets can be deadly sometimes, that's why I can't let mine out.

Throughout the whole lesson, I kept catching Caleb glancing at me whenever he got the time away from shooting hoops and every time he would score he would smirk at me. I'm sure by now everyone "knows" something's going on.

After school, I was on my way to Shane's car to go home but I was stopped midway when I saw Caleb trotting towards me.

"5 personal things about you right?" He was out of breath yet somehow he managed to throw those words at me.

"Yeah?" I frowned.

He leaned forward so that his cheeks were one centimeter away from my cheeks as he silently whispered.

"Shane isn't really your brother, is he? I can see the resemblance but he doesn't share the same parents as you."

Shocked and extremely overwhelmed I stood there blinking over and over again to make sure those were his right words. He had a guilty smirk on his face as he walked backward away from me without breaking the stare down.

How does he know that?
