In front of them is a box with 3 black hats and 2 white hats.

Pretend those are 2 white hats.  I couldn't find a white hat emoji.  ;-;

Each man reached into the box and pulled out a hat, placing it on their head.  They did not see the color of their hat or of the other 2 men.

The 3 men then situated themselves where A could see the hats on B and C, B could only see C's hat, and C couldn't see any hats.

Anyways, A was asked if he knew what color hat he was wearing.  He said no.

B was then asked if he knew what color hat he was wearing.  He said no.

C was then asked if he knew what color hat he was wearing.  He said yes and guessed correctly.

How did C know what color his hat was and what was the hat's color?

He did not guess by chance or luck.  He guessed based on the information he had heard.
