We have enjoyed reading your stories so much. You all wrote some amazing bits of fiction with the prompts! Please excuse me if I have any spelling mistakes here today, I'm running a fever and am seeing things kinda fuzzy.

Prompt 4- Paris, 1914. Everyone has been anticipating the performance of 'The Nightingale'. You work at the opera (you may be a dancer, composer or musician). There is a small opium den situated fairly close to the opera house. You are also a user and opium is your poison. Write a story that takes place either in the opium den or in the opera. Use this prompt somewhere in your story.

The opium pipe calls to me, beckoning with wanton fingers. It needs me as much as I need it. Scents intoxicate me, a mixture of sweat, Oriental spices, and tobacco. Clouds of smoke hover overhead. I watch in mild interest as some ghost-like creature nestles up close and whispers a thousand little lies. Tendrils waft away creating a stairway to the sky. Yet who are those worthy enough to make that trip? We are certainly going the other way.

FYI-the prompt is from part of a story of mine. Some of you may have read it before I took it down for editing, it is from 'Master', a piece of gothic horror. 

Edit: I knew I forgot something in my fuzzy state of mind. The due date is February. 10, 2016. 

Edit #2: Here is some info for those who want it. No, you don't have to use this info in your story, it's an FYI IF you need it. :)

La Info: The Nightingale by Igor Stravinsky, based on the tale of by Hans Christian Anderson, was written by the composer and Stepan Mitussav. It was first performed on 26 May 1914 by the at the Ballets Russes at the Paris Garnier in Paris.For the opera's premiere, the singers were in the pit and their roles were mimed and danced on stage.

Feel free to change the real life people's names and even the names of the opera house, etc. (for example, if you want to write about the composer and feel he should become a she named Olga Dobrovolska or that the Opera house should be called La Opera house LALA go ahead). Make this your own.
