Studio Ghibli films

I am happy to have a friend who works at a movie theater! He keeps me updated at times about movies, his work, his coworkers, etc.

He knows that I LOVE Studio Ghibli and sent me a snap on Snapchat of Studio Ghibli films that his work is gonna show every month! This month is Ponyo, then next month is The Cat Returns, after that month is Porco Rosso, etc! I can't wait! I hope to see all of the ones I've never seen before!

Do you think they'll still show them even after Miyazaki retires after his final film, How Do You Live??

SPEAKING of Studio Ghibli films....!

Here are some fun facts about the films that I found doing research for a genre project for my English class!

- The films that Miyazaki directs are entirely in his vision. He storyboards everything himself and uses those images as a script. So no one, including Miyazaki, knows how the film will end.

- Ponyo, a movie about a goldfish who wants to become human. Sound familiar? (The Little Mermaid)

- The English voice actress for Chihiro in Spirited Away also voiced Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. She also played Samara Morgan in The Ring.

- To get the scene where Chihiro pushes her hand into Haku's mouth just right, the animators had recorded a vet opening a dog's mouth to use as a reference.

- You can see original short films in the Ghibli Museum that you can't see anywhere else. They are screened in a theater that looks similar to the baby's room in Spirited Away.

- Miyazaki drew the waves in Ponyo himself.

Do you see this movie?! ^^^

Type in "Studio Ghibli films" and I bet you 5 bucks that this is one of the "Studio Ghibli" films. IT'S NOT A STUDIO GHIBLI FILM! IT'S A STUDIO PONOC FILM! HUGE DIFFERENCE!
