''You are Saloni! How have you been?''

"For nth time, I am not the Saloni you are looking for.''

''But you are Saloni Kapoor''

''Yes, but not the Saloni Kapoor you are thinking me to be. I don't remember us getting acquainted. Saloni replied. She quickly walked away from the prying eyes of the other woman getting into her subway train. As the doors slid close, her eyes went to the woman who stood waving her grinning ear to ear.

Few years later

''Did you get me the details I asked for?'' Ravi Taneja asked his assistant and right hand, Vineet. The man nodded. ''Here, this is the file on her, Saloni Kapoor.''

Ravi smirked staring at the folder. Finally, he was so close to finishing what he started 5 years. Kaushal Kapoor, his dad's business partner and friend, destroyed his family, usurping all. He then vanished from their lives leaving Taneja's fighting the loan sharks. Ravi's father couldn't take it and lost his life. But his mother fought the aversities for him to make him a strong man. Ravi graduated as computer science engineer and an app made him the talk of the town. Now, with 5 patents under his belt , he started to build the empire his father lost.

Ravi understood the meaning of slow and steady, he took his time and started eliminating his enemies in the most brutal possible ways. He took advantage of loop holes in law and the law officers turning everything in his favour. It was easy, money made things easy. Now, he wanted to hunt her down. Saloni Kapoor, the only Kapoor blood left. After her father's death, she vanished and kept a low profile.

Kaushal Kapoor's daughter was never socially active and not many knew her. Kapoor's kept her hidden as if she was a treasure. When Ravi started hunting down his enemies, he didn't spare their families. He mauled, destroyed all who were directly or indirectly related to his enemies. But one stayed hidden. Saloni Kapoor.

''There is no picture of her.''

''No one has seen her for years. All I know is that she escaped the country and is somewhere in the west.''

''You want me to tour all the possible places in the western world?'' Ravi asked irritated

''No, give me a week's time. I will have a good news for you.''

''If you find her, just do whatever has to be done to ruin her present and future.''

Vineet took a moment. ''Sir, she is innocent.''

''She is a Kapoor, and that makes her guilty.''

A month later

Saloni stepped out of the airport looking around confused. She was again in an unknown space on her own. with all lost, she had no option but to accept the petty job in India. The job Ravi Taneja offered her. She knew what was coming for her but she wasn't a quitter. She knew the man destroyed she called family and forced her father to commit suicide. But she was going to end this war. She was here to make a peace and leave.

Saloni made her way to the 34th floor of the Taneja Tower, her eyes nervously looking around.

''Sir asked you to wait.'' The receptionist informed and Saloni took a seat , her hands clasped nervously. She knew how brutal Ravi Taneja has been with his enemies but there was no one she could go to. She had to fight this battle, for her and for the promise she made.

It had been 6 hours, but Ravi didn't call for her. She watched as employee walked in and out of different rooms, but Ravi Taneja's door stayed shut on her face.

She knew if she left, he would have another reason to bother her, so she decided to wait, her body tired and eyes droopy

Ravi walked after his office emptied. When the receptionist asked about the girl, he said he would take care, and now was the time. He walked out of his cabin to a sleeping Saloni in the waiting area. His eyes gleamed in pride, he had finally dragged the final of his enemies back into his den and no one would even know. He had his plan prepared, he would break her mentally and physically every moment till she would beg for the end.

He watched as Saloni would rub her tired neck. She looked like a scared lamb, her eyes scanning everyone as if they were going to butcher her. He liked this fear, her dark eyes full of fear. He walked to the glass wall that stood as the barrier between him and his prey. His mind full of wild and crooked thoughts. 'She has nothing to do with anything'  His heart reminded

'So did my family. They suffered , and so will she.'  His mind countered. 

It was late in the evening when the whole building turned silent. Saloni wiped her forehead, what should she do now. She was confused and worried. If she left without meeting him, he would just o something unthinkable. She had suffered enough and she wasn't going to suffer more. Gathering her strength, she walked towards his cabin . With shaking hands, she knocked the front door. Saloni waited for an answer, but nothing came. She swallowed the dryness, turned the knob and walked in.

''You wanted me here, I m here. Let's just get over with it.''

''So soon! I have the plans to make you suffer for long.''

''Why? I haven't done a thing to you''

''You dad did.''

''They go and fight him, not someone innocent.''

''My Mom was innocent and those who respected her in fair days offered their beds to as a help. She suffered, and so will you.''

''Haven't you already done that. My sister committed suicide in a mental asylum and my mom is presumed dead. My brother went to work but never came back. He is still missing, all your doing. Isn't that enough?''

''You are alive. Still! Till I wipe every exitance of Kaushal Kapoor's blood, I won't stop.'' He replied, calm and with a smile.

Saloni studied the man, she recalled that in the good times, the two family had been friends , so were the kids. Only if Kaushal Kapoor hadn't given to his greed, the two families would have been at peace. 

''Here, your letter of appointment. You will work as a janitor, in men's loo.''

Saloni gulped, she shut her eyes tight. ''You are no better than men who offered help to your mom. But, I am different, I have survived what no one can. I will wait till you are done with your revenge. '' Signing the letter, she picked her bag and walked out of his cabin. The sadness of her eyes covered with something more, a determination to fight the all odds.
