"You can't leave! I'm pregnant with your daughter."

"She'll find her way in life."

"Please... don't leave us."

"I have my kingdom to run and one day she will have her own castle she will run herself."

Leda put the dishes away, setting her wand on the counter and grabbing a book for some light reading. As she grabbed the book, a cup was thrown into the wall shattering upon impact. Her eyes went to her daughter, who was sitting in a chair and smiling as if she had done nothing. "Well at least you took after me, well, I mean, if you were a squib I would still love you." She kissed her daughter's forehead and then muttered a quick reparo charm.

When she awoke to her daughters crying days later, she found her stuffed animals floating in the sky, while other shredded to pieces. She couldn't help but smile as she cared for the small child.

Helen was bouncing around in the shop, her mother had bought the shop when she was five. At the time, the shop seemed like a miracle, now it seemed like a curse. They were only going further and further in debt but Leda loved it and wanted to keep it. "Will I get my letter?" Helen sighed messing with something she probably shouldn't have touched.

"Yes, you will, then you will be sorted into Ravenclaw like your gran, or Hufflepuff like your mum." Helen frowned, would her mum be upset if she were to be sorted into the other two houses, she had always hoped of being sorted into Gryffindor, she loved their loud colors and voices and how they never backed down from a fight.

"Oh okay, how can I help with the shop?"

"Why don't I get to ride the train? Every first-year rides it!" Helen complained sitting on a table, pouting over what she just learned.

"Why would you take the train? We are a walk away from Hogwarts." Growing up in Hogsmeade was not as pleasant as it may seem, you missed out on key things, such as riding the Hogwarts express or riding in the carriages. All first-years were expected to ride in the boat for the sorting ceremony.

"Well hurry up the keeper will be here soon to take your stuff and you still have to pack a few things." Helen picked up her cat and held it while she watched her mum freak out.

"Mrs. Norris, I don't know what to do, mum's gone insane again."

"I'm going insane, you're the one talking to a cat."

Helen covered Mrs. Norris's ears, "But she still has feelings." Leda rolled her eyes and shooed her daughter off to the station. Helen already knew where it was so didn't need her mum to take her like other parents were doing, she skipped her way to the station, stopping when she saw the other first years. When she arrived she saw people getting into the boats, she looked around before getting in with two other girls. One had dark brown almost black hair while the other had dark red, to Helen it looked dyed, but she doubted it was, which made her instantly jealous.

"Hello, I'm Alice Fortescue." The dark-haired girl replied, the other girl turned around, "I'm Lily Evans." Helen smiled at both, as she forgot they were expecting her to say her name.

The castle looked much prettier then she imagined it, every piece just fit in with each other, and each stone looked perfectly in place. The boat ride continued with silence for Helen until she got out and stood behind the doors of the Great Hall. She was insanely nervous, this would determine how she was judged and seen for the rest of her life.

She watched as the doors opened and then the sorting ceremony began, she found it quite boring, rolling on the heels of her feet, that was until Sirius Black's name was called. She had slightly entertained herself by guessing which house that person was going to go into. "Easy Slytherin."  She said under her breath while looking at the ground. She didn't hear what the hat said, which she regretted, when the hat suddenly shouted, "Gryffindor!" The room went quiet. A Black, in a house different then Slytherin? It was unheard of, especially to be placed in Gryffindor. First years separated forming a pathway, all of the half-bloods and pure-bloods sharing awkward glances. The young boy rushed by, sitting at the table and putting his head down.

She watched the woman who's name she already forgot begin to call names again, she rarely paid attention after that, looking up when she heard Lily and Alice's names. When she was called up she happily sat on the stool,

"Your heart belongs to Hufflepuff, you could follow in your family's footsteps, Ravenclaw would help you with that. You'd do wonderful things, but you are meant to lead. Follow the future that has been planed out, and Gryffindor will do just that, Gryffindor!" Helen smiled and jumped off taking the hat with her, professor McGonagall quickly grabbed it off of the student's head. Everyone sat far from the Black at the table, minus for two boys who seemed not to care. She sat next down to him watching as James Potter was sorted after her and then the boy sitting on the other side.

Sirius looked up and then at both of them then back down. Dumbledore said his speech and then all the students began to eat, Helen looked over at the boy and tapped his shoulder, "You should eat." The boy looked as if he had been crying or about to cry, she hugged him, which cause the boy to freeze in motion. "Why did you do that?"

"You were upset? and looked like you were about to cry."

"Black don't cry."

"But humans do."

"You're kindness will be your fall..." Sirius was only joking.

"Past queens have fallen for much worse reasons." Helen was not.
