Before I answer this, I need you to understand that I use humor to diffuse tension in myself and try to cope with heavy emotions...

My grandfather had just died in the hospital. We were all sitting around the hospital bed. He was laying there, and looked so peaceful, like he was sleeping. I was, obviously, devastated. I felt miserable, and well... I wanted to find anyway to not feel so... yeah...

Well, a Nurse came in, and asked "Is Carl awake yet?", not knowing that he had recently passed (Carl was my grandfathers name). And I, not missing a beat, said "Come back later, he's come down with a case of the 'deads'." My whole family got rightfully upset at that, but even before they said anything, I felt like a goddamn monster. Instant regret right there.
