Pub Chatter 6th Edition - August 2, 2020

Hello Dear Friends!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day/evening! We don't have much of an update for you yet, other than there is still some hope of saving the Pub. We are still waiting to hear back from Wattpad to see if they are going to allow us back into the Pub.

As for the contests, we are going to see what this week brings and if we can get back in, we will post any poems that have been sent in for the July contest, call it good and let our judges do their thing. The Crossover contest is still ongoing, and we will post any entries as soon as we can. And our August contest will, again, start as soon as we can get back into the Pub.

Unfortunately, it looks like we may have lost all access to Flash-Fiction-Forum. As such we are talking now about what we want to do to get the FFF back up and going. Again, as soon as we know something, we will let you know. For now, if anyone wants to send in submissions for the FFF portion of the Crossover contest you can send them to the Pub.
We want to thank you all for sticking with us and being so understanding. Rest assured we are doing everything possible to get the Pub back up and running.

Cheers,
Myna

Warning
by Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Busted Gulch Vol. 14 Update:
3Gun dismissed the County lawmen with the prisoners and wished them a trouble free trip. The sheriff sent his deputy, Billy, on a job to go see if Ronan knew anything about Dunn and Dusted. An old man looking tired and frail came to the hotel wishing to speak with Rue and her manager. He pulled a gun from under his coat and a second later Ronan was on the ground. Once Denver and Donavan finished with the grave, Missy said some words for them. The wood on top of the grave was lit and remnants of the dead's souls were sent to their maker.

Thank you MysteriousDryad for another great update!!

On The Ning Nang Nong
By Spike Milligan

On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ning Nang Nong
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning
Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!
