Chapter 71 - Welcome Back

Kwon Jiyong entered YG Entertainment with Bae Jang Mi and Choi Seung-Hyun following behind him. Bae Jang Mi was forcing him to go into President Yang's office and apologize for slacking off for six months. During the ride over, Bae Jang Mi kept going on and on about how she would've disbanded Kwon Jiyong if she was President Yang. For six months he hasn't been doing anything for the company so he understood where she was coming from.

As they were approaching President Yang's office, the door opened. Bae Jang Mi took a second to process who had stepped out from behind the door, and when it did settle in, she stepped forward, ready to lash out. She was ready to fight her right in the entertainment company's hallway. After noticing what was going on with the situation, Choi Seung-Hyun took hold of his wife's arm and dragged her into a nearby studio with his free hand over her mouth.

Kwon Jiyong stood there in shock. His mind couldn't comprehend why she was standing before him. She was just as shocked as he was but she quickly covered her expression. Park Nabi stood confidently in front of Kwon Jiyong. However, she looked like a completely different person. Not only in the way she presented herself but also the way she carried herself. Gone was the simple and plain Nabi who was always soft spoken. Now before Kwon Jiyong, stood someone completely different. Her hair now cut short and dyed black. She wore a black shirt covered with a long sleeve white blazer that stopped at her hips, tight jeans with expensive jewelry hanging from her neck and ears. She even had a golden watch wrapped around her wrist. What was even more shocking with her appearance was the fact she wasn't bare faced like usual. She didn't look like a clown caked up in makeup but she wore just enough to make her look fashionable. She even wore heels. Something far off from what she usually wore.

"Kwon Jiyong-ssi." Nabi bowed politely as she spoke to him formally.

His eyes started to water at the sight before him. "How ar-"

Before he could say anything, Nabi cut him off. "Let's go talk up on the roof."

Kwon Jiyong waited for Nabi to take the lead. She began making her way down the hall and up the stairs. Kwon Jiyong followed, almost like a zombie. He pulled the hood for his jacket over his head and stuck his hands in the pockets of the jacket, staggering behind Nabi with constant questions that he wanted to ask her, running repeatedly through his head. He wanted answers. He needed them.

When they arrived on the roof, Nabi sat at just one of the many tables that scattered across the YG Entertainment building's rooftop. She looked at Kwon Jiyong, not really saying anything or doing anything. Her face was expressionless, not showing any sign of remorse. She simply gave Kwon Jiyong a nod towards the seat across from her, so that they could talk appropriately. Slowly, he followed her command, sitting down across from her. He kept his head down, not able to say anything. However, he could feel Nabi staring at him. Burning holes into the top of his head.

"How have you been?" Nabi started.

"Where did you go?" Kwon Jiyong asks looking up at her now.

"I hope you're doing okay." She says ignoring his question. "You don't look like you've been eating much."

"I asked you a question." Kwon Jiyong says. "Where have you been?"

"You need to take care of yourself. Make sure you're eating well and drinking water." Nabi says.

"Why'd you leave?" Kwon Jiyong asks with his voice getting louder.

"Also, you should get more sleep. You don't look good with tired eyes." Nabi continued.

The two were having two completely different conversations. Nothing made sense between the two. Kwon Jiyong wanted answers, Nabi wanted Kwon Jiyong to be healthy. The whold conversation was going anywhere and if someone were to listen to this conversation, both sides would seem completely one-sided.

"I asked you a damn question! Why won't you answer them?!" Kwon Jiyong snapped. He stood up fast causing the metal chair to be pushed back, causing it to fall down with a loud bang. "Why did you leave me?! You left after leaving that stupid note with your declaration of your love for me!! Did you even love me?!" He snapped, pounding a fist against the table.

His sudden outburst caused Nabi to flinch back but she regained her composure and straightened out her blazer. Kwon Jiyong continued to eye her down. He was leaning his weight on his hands that were propped up on the table. He eyed her, awaiting her answer.

"Miss Park, we're late. Let's go." A man in a suite says entering the rooftop.

Nabi stood up and looked at Kwon Jiyong. She bowed a ninety degree bow before turning around. However, before she completely walked out, she looked over her shoulder and eyed Kwon Jiyong.

"Take care of yourself." She says before exiting.

Kwon Jiyong took a few seconds to comprehend what was going on. Until he finally understood that Nabi was leaving again. He instantly ran after them. Following them down the many levels of the YG Entertainment building. He rushed out of the building the moment he reached ground level, only to see her climbing into the back of a black car with dark tinted windows. Before he could do anything, the car zoomed off with another same looking black car following behind it.

Kwon Jiyong was confused by what just happened. He needed answers and to get them he had to find out what President Yang knew. He turned around and went back into the building. Kwon Jiyong climbed the steps two at a time, rushing to get to the second to the last floor. He began making large steps down the hall and towards President Yang's office. He entered the office, without even knocking, looking around the room for any sign that Nabi has been inside this office. President Yang looked up from his paper work and sighed.

"From your face, I guess you've bumped into her." President Yang says with a sigh. "Of all days to come into work." He says softly to himself.

"How? Why? When? I don't even know what to ask. I don't even understand." Kwon Jiyong says in disbelief.

"Sit down first. You need to calm down." President Yang says. He watched as Kwon Jiyong made his way to sit in the chair in front of his desk. "Are you going to start working?"

Kwon Jiyong nodded. "Jang Mi forced me to come."

"Not surprising. She cares nothing for status or formalities." President Yang sighed. "So you're wondering why Nabi was here?" He asked which received a deadpan look from Kwon Jiyong. "She was in Japan when she first left."

"Japan? Why was she in Japan?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

"A few weeks after she disappeared, I heard from a good business friend of mine that he saw her roaming around Japan with a bunch of known Japanese business men." President Yang explained.

"What was she doing with a bunch of businessmen in Japan?" He asked.

"I don't know. But they weren't regular business men. These guys were higher ups in either the entertainment industry or the music industry down in Japan." President Yang explained. "So I've been using my connections to try and find out who she's working for."

"Why would that matter?" Kwon Jiyong asks confused.

"Because then, I would actually know why she left." He admitted.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why did you continue to do this all on your own?" Kwon Jiyong asked furiously.

"Because then that would give you false hope." President Yang says straightforwardly. "The false hope that she didn't leave you by her own choice."

"So what else did you find. What more do you know? I need to know." Kwon Jiyong almost begged.

"I did some asking around with some businessmen. None of them knew who Nabi was. So I started asking some close family friends of my sister's who are also in the business scene. All of them claim that when Nabi was around four or five years old was the last time they actually saw her." President Yang says.

"So that's it?" He asks. "That's all you have on her. After six months?"

"Sure as hell more than you got from her." President Yang challenged. "Look, none of them said anything. I'm guessing word had gotten to her which caused her to come here personally." President Yang explains.

"So what did she say to you?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

"To stop looking for her." He replied simply. "She said she doesn't want to be found and she's happy doing what she's doing."

"Did you ask her why she left?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

Nodding, President Yang replied, "She said it was because of you."

"Me?" Kwon Jiyong asks confused. "I didn't want her to leave. Why would I be the cause of that?"

"That's all she said. She left because of you." President Yang says. "I'm still searching for more information about her whereabouts. If you continue doing your work, and not half-assed either, I will keep you up to date. You also have to stop drinking."

Kwon Jiyong sat silently for a few seconds before nodding. "Fine."
