Chapter 37 - Talk It Through
Nabi and Kwon Jiyong stood side by side, walking around. Of course in a town where everyone knows everyone, Nabi was afraid someone might see her and connect her to the mystery girl in the articles printed out on magazines and posted everywhere online. Knowing anyone would do anything for money, she was worried someone would put her in the spotlight causing Kwon Jiyong more burden than he deserves.
Nabi bit her lip in debate. "What did you want to talk about?" She asked.
Kwon Jiyong stopped, not stopping Nabi who walked a few steps ahead of him before turning around to look at him.
"I didn't like the way you left." He says with a sterne tone.
Nabi ran a hand through her hair before letting them fold across her chest. "Then what do you suggest? We repeat the conversation again?"
"No." He answered. "I want you to shut up and listen."
Nabi was taken aback. "Wh-"
He cut her off by telling her once again. "Shut up and listen." She sighed and nodded.
Kwon Jiyong walked up to her and tucked a fist under her chin so that she could look up at him. He wanted to look into her eyes. When she willingly let him do so, he let go of her chin and swept some of her hair out of her face before cupping her cheek. Meanwhile, Nabi's inside were melting like lava. Even though she didn't show it, she was slowly forgiving him for not texting her. She hated herself at how easily she fell for him that she would forgive him so easily. He didn't even say anything but to shut up.
"I didn't want to say anything. About the reason I didn't text you. I didn't feel like it was a good enough reason." He says softly while looking into her eyes. "I knew you asked for something as simple as an emoji. I agreed to it too." He sighed. "I couldn't. Every time I was ready to reply with a simple emoji, I stopped myself. When I'm ready to send you an emoji, I end up wanting to say way more than an emoji could express. I wanted to text you about how my day went and how tired I am. Where I was headed to and where I was coming from. I wanted to tell you how long I'm going to be working that day. I wanted to tell you some of the funny questions asked during my interview. I wanted to tell you that I'm attending a variety show. I wanted to tell you what I ate and what celebrities I met with. I wanted to tell you what magazine I was going to be doing a photoshoot for. I wanted to tell you to watch my performance because even though I performed in front of an audience on many occasions, I never knew if you actually watched me perform. I wanted to tell you how much I missed you-"
Nabi wrapped her arms around the back of Kwon Jiyong's neck, pulling his lips down to her own. Although he was surprised by her sudden eagerness to the kiss, he didn't hesitate to kiss her back. Their body heat radiated onto the other as their bodies were pressed up against one another. Nabi's heart was beating fast inside her chest while her cheeks burned from kissing Kwon Jiyong. She really likes him and she didn't know how else to portray it. So she gave her all into the kiss. She made sure he at least felt what she was feeling. Their lips moved in sync as if they knew each other's everything. They both finally pulled apart, breathing heavy breaths that were visible due to the cold winter air.
"Why didn't you just tell me? I was mad at you." She whispers placing her head under his neck while wrapping her arms around his waist. "I missed you too." She sighs taking in his cologne, if he even wore any.
Kwon Jiyong sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry." He says wrapping his arms around her and placing his chin on her head.
Nabi shook her head into his chest. "I regretted every I said after I left." She sighed. "After my self pity party, I wanted to go back and slap Da-Hye."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled squeezing her tightly against him. "Huh?"
"No seriously." She said looking up at him. "I knew she had issues against me but I'm older than her."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled while shaking his head. He let go of her and placed her at his side. He took the grocery bag out of her hands and held it while he wrapped a free arm around Nabi's shoulders. They began walking to, where Nabi asumed, would be Kwon Jiyong's car.
....
Nabi and Kwon Jiyong sat in the warmth of his car. Talking. They were talking about anything and everything. Nabi had felt bad for being a burden to Kwon Jiyong. In order for him to be here and apologize to Nabi, he had to cancel quite a few things on his schedule. Which of course got him an ear full from President Yang.
"You have no idea. Girls are much more worst than having to contain boys." Nabi defended.
"Boys are immature by nature. Try stopping Seungri from going into the water when we're filming near the ocean." Kwon Jiyong says defending his side of the story.
Nabi made her eyes into a little slit and eyed him down. Slowly she replied, "Girls. Have. Periods."
Kwon Jiyong raised his hands in defeat. "You win."
Nabi smirked. "I know. You have no idea the things they've said to me. They become totally different people."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "It must of been hard for you to take care of your band."
"And it's easy for you?" Nabi smiled but shook her head. "I enjoyed it. It was hard, but looking back at those times where I struggled as a leader, I'm very proud of those moments."
"Is that Da-Hye girl always violent?" He says shuttering at her name.
Nabi stared out the window and began remembering all the times she had with the other members. "Da-Hye, believe it or not, is the sweetest amongst everyone. It's So Hee we had to contain." She chuckled.
"So Hee? The youngest?" Kwon Jiyong asks.
"Yeah. How did you know?" Nabi asked finding it weird he knew the name of the youngest girl.
Caught in a trap of not wanting to admit that he's been watching GEM TV, he decided to cover it up with a guess. "Wasn't that the name of the girl in the hall you were with?" He questioned.
Nabi nodded. "Yeah that's her. Anyway, she had a tendency to swear when she was often told to do something. I had to constantly cover her mouth and force a bow on her because she often had a bad temper." She chuckled.
"What about the other two?" He asks.
"Bori and Min Jung were the biggest troublemakers in the industry. They never did anything seperated. They were always together. I mean, yeah, they went to the same elementary school, so they felt like they had no boundaries as friends but they were always together. Which was why they were closer together than the other girls were." Nabi shook her head. "This one time, I had to rescue them both."
"Rescue them?" Kwon Jiyong asks.
Nabi shook her head. "We had to do our monthly weigh in and those two went missing. Da-Hye and I had to search everywhere. At the time, I was frantic and on the verge of calling the army to search for those two but looking back it's funny."
"Wait, where were they?" He asks.
"Oh right." Nabi chuckled as she go too into the story. "So I was looking for them. I was searching each floor of the building. High and low. I was so worried that something bad happened to them. So when I was on my way to leave the last floor after checking it, I saw the stairway leading up to the roof." Nabi smiled to herself just remembering it. "I quickly ran up the stairs and opened the door to the roof. The two were crouched in a corner hugging each other because it was winter." Nabi laughed. "When they saw me, they instantly ran, which was the first time I've ever seen them do something so physical by will, and they ran in hugging me." She chuckled shaking her head. "Their bodies were ice cold and now I just find it funny. When I asked what they were doing up on the roof. They complained that they wanted the weigh in time to pass over because Bori gained a pound." She explains laughing.
Kwon Jiyong laughed along with her. He could remember a few things about the members of Big Bang that would make him laugh. He regretted ever having the thoughts of not wanting to be a part of Big Bang. He was glad President Yang placed him to be with his other four brothers. After being in the industry with them for so long, he could never imagine doing music without them. And not wanting to be in a group was a immature thought he had when he was younger. Thinking he knew what was best. But he's glad he has all the other members by his side through thick and thin. It was the best part of being in a group. You're never alone. So a thought came to him. He wondered, what it was that would make Nabi suddenly leave that. All of that behind. Her sisters and her dreams. He would've asked if it weren't for Joo Won knocking on Nabi's window.
"Mom says to come inside." He said chewing on a piece of meat. "And to bring your boyfriend."
