Freedom...For a Price
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
My eyes shot daggers at Ganzon. To think I let myself be manipulated by this man. I despise him. Even his presence disgusts me.
I hissed, "What do you mean it won't work? You know very well that I can easily break this sword."
Ganzon walked closer to Link and me, every step of his boot becoming louder and louder. The metal clicked and clanked. "Poor, poor, (Y/N)." He shook his head in disapproval and tsked. "While you wasted your time--well, not wasted, since you did help make an attack on Hyrule..."
Ganzon continued to walk circles. "Besides that...while you used your time being preoccupied with other matters, intelligent ol' me took the liberty in researching how to keep that soul of your sister's still imprisoned."
My blood started to boil beyond control. My hand squeezed the blade and my fingers dug into it creating slowly spreading cracks. "You're lying. You always lie, Ganzon."
Ganzon simply chuckled. "Oh, dear, (Y/N). I know that I used you for my own needs, but that was only such a small thing."
This guy was seriously getting on my nerves. What was he up to?
"Such a small thing?" I mocked. "Please. Don't you even try to make the situation even worse than it is. Once I free my family, I will make sure that I'm the one that kills you."
"There you go off again about freeing your family, (Y/N). I still don't get why you even bother trying. I mean, I guess I could free your mother, father, and brother..." And with that, with the snap of a finger, Link, my family, Ganzon, and I, were transported to a desolate place.
I looked around. Gray, cracked stone, the typical dark sky, and the remains of an old structure. It was an arena. My family, now out of their cells, remained asleep. (S/N) was still soulless.
I arched a brow at Ganzon. "What did you do that for?"
He shrugged, "Simple. I might as well free that useless family of yours before you die."
It was now Link's turn to talk. He walked in front of me in a defensive stance. He spat, "What do you mean, die? Why would (Y/N) die anytime soon?"
"Naive, Link," Ganzon said as he started to form twin swords in his hands, "instead of just breaking the sword to free (S/N)'s soul..." He disappeared into thin air. "You're going to have to make a sacrifice as well."
The dark clouds started to fill the air making the sky darker than it already was. Rain started to pour. The war on Hyrule had begun.
"...and that sacrifice..." Ganzon suddenly appeared right in front of Link and I, pointing the blades at each of our throats, "...will be your blood and life, (Y/N)."
He swung his blade only to miss both of his targets. Link and I both took out our swords and we prepared for the fight in front of us.
"And I'll make sure," Ganzon continued as he started to form magic fireballs, "that you'll be dead before you even break that sword."
Link's P.O.V.
I looked at (Y/N) as she seemed to be surprisingly calm in a situation like this. While I, on the other hand, was frightened as hell. I had just reunited with her and now Ganzon's saying she's going to die?
"Trust me," (Y/N) said with a smug look and she started to form her own magic. "You'll be the one who's dead."
(Y/N) focused her (e/c) eyes on mine. She was slowly returning back to normal. "Link," she said softly. "Whatever happens, promise me you'll keep my family safe once this chaos is all over."
"I promise," I said sincerely, "But, (Y/N). I know we'll get out of this."
She smiled and I returned that smile. Both of us looked toward Ganzon and dashed at him as if on cue. (Y/N) with her demon sword, and me, with the Master Sword. This was going to be a long battle.
Midna's P.O.V.
"Come on, Zelda!" I urged as I pulled the slowly strengthening princess along. "We need to return back to Hyrule to stop the enemy from taking over!"
Zelda ran and tried to keep up. She was still recovering from when I found her.
Flashback
The injured Link was taken to the castle by (Y/N) and her companions. I followed closely behind to see if I could find anything else that could be useful.
When (Y/N) and the others went their separate ways, I took the liberty of searching through the castle. I somehow found my way to an isolated staircase and made my way up. There, in front of me, was Zelda herself.
"Zelda!" I yelled as I easily freed her from the cell and removed the rope the seemed to be suffocating her.
As soon as I did that, a golden aura surrounded her. Zelda lifted up her hand to see the Triforce glowing majestically once again.
"Thank you, Midna. I'm sure that if you came anytime later, all of the Triforce's power would've been drained," Zelda said.
End of Flashback
"Where's Link?" Zelda asked as I formed a portal to bring us back to Hyrule. I honestly didn't even know where he was but I'm sure he'd be okay. He always could find his way through any situation.
"We'll come back for him later, Zelda. As of right now, Hyrule Kingdom is in dire need of your power and assistance."
Link's P.O.V.
(Y/N) and I continued to fight against the seemingly almost immortal. As least, he felt like an immortal. He had blocked every single one of our blows. (Y/N) seemed to become quite irritated since nothing was working, but she continued to try.
"Silly girl," Ganzon mocked, "I was the one who gave you that sword. I know every attack hidden under your sleeve."
"Oh, do you now?" (Y/N) taunted. "I've learned some pretty new spells and attacks that you have yet to see."
"Do you now?" Ganzon questioned. He stood still. "Show me then."
(Y/N) rushed to my side and whispered. "Look, I don't know if this will actually work since I've never done it before, but just follow my lead."
I nodded listening for (Y/N)'s next words. I noticed her whisper something and the next thing I know, (Y/N) has lifted her sword into the air while my arm magically lifts itself to have my sword form an "X" shape with her own.
(Y/N) yelled into the air. "Harmony of Darkness and Light!" A crack of thunder was heard as two bolts struck down.
