"So Danny," Damien asked curiously. "Can I see your ghost form again?"

Danny twisted around and looked at Damien as he flew backwards. "Ummmm...sure. Ok." He was reluctant to turn back to his new form so soon. Or even at all. It brought back too many memories and dark worries. However he let the rings envelop him and he heard the same whoosh of his hair lighting up.

Thanks to Danny being halfghost he could always use his powers. Whether in the Ghost Zone or in the Human Zone. Whether in human form or in ghost form. But he was usually stronger in ghost form due to his body being practically made of ectoplasm. Every time he would shoot an ectoblast, he used his own ectoenergy. Danny didn't have enough of that in human form so it would hurt to take the little he did have.

Danny was shaken out of his thoughts when his cousins gasped.

"I already thought you looked weird," David blinked. "But you look even freakier up close."

Danny rolled his eyes.

"What happened?" Damien frowned.

Danny shook his head. "I don't know. I just turned into Phantom. There was nothing weird about it. And then I look down and I'm like this."

Dorian pursed his lips. "You should ask your mother. She is an expert, isn't she."

Danny nodded. "I'll do that as soon as I can."

Back in the ship it was quiet except for a few whispering students here and there. There was too much to think about.

Sam fiddled with her hair. She wondered why Danny had looked so horrified of his reflection. He looked like he was about to faint. And to be fair, she thought she had seen that before. She glanced at Tucker, who had decided to sit next to her. Nobody really cared about sitting in their original seats anymore and the Fentons didn't push them. "Tuck?"

"Mmh?"

"Why do you think Danny looked so scared?" Sam whispered in Ghost, careful not to let her voice carry out too far.

Tucker sighed and glanced at her. "I think I know. Remember the Dan accident..."

Sam gasped. "So you think he's..."

He nodded. They knew about Danny's supposed future. They had seen what Dan did through one of Clockwork's portals. They had witnessed the destroyed town and future Valerie fighting future Danny. Then they had taken the time medallions off and gone back to their own time. Danny followed soon after. They had had a strange feeling when talking to Danny. He didn't have that innocent goofy vibe as usual. It honestly freaked them out. Did he see anything in the future? Did something happen? Sam and Tucker thought that was the end of it but caught Danny cheating in the CAT anyways. They had tried to change his mind but he suddenly just smiled at them. That usual halfsmile he would make when he had figured something out. It was like a complete makeover. His appearance hadn't changed at all. But it was like talking to a whole different Danny. Thankfully the halfa had turned himself in and was able to make the makeup CAT, which he studied his butt off for. He even studied while ghost hunting. He would go over questions and punch and kick away at the ghost at the same time. Sometimes he would even ask the ghost he was fighting for answers. They were surprisingly helpful. It'd become a rhythm. So much that he could barely concentrate without punching something. (The teachers thought he had ADHD because he couldn't stay still).

He passed.

Barely.

But he did.

They had a party.

Tucker sighed. "He's starting to look like Dan and I wouldn't be surprised if he got anxiety from that."

Sam rubbed her face. She scrunched her eyebrows in concern and felt scared for him. "Why do you think his ghost half is changing?"

Tucker shook his head. Then he froze. "Wait a second. The pills!!! His power boost. His parents!" He jumped up and made a dash for the cockpit.

Sam blinked and quickly followed. She didn't want to miss anything.

"Mr. And Mrs. Fenton!" Tucker practically shouted. "I have a question!"

Maddie jumped and blinked at him. Jack grinned. "Spit it out, boy."

"What kinds of ghosts can change their appearances?"

Jack cocked his head. "We just learned that there are certain types of ghosts that have that special ability but most ghosts change when there's a drastic change in their ectosignature."

Sam caught on and asked: "So if they had a sudden power boost?"

Maddie frowned. "Are you implying that because Danny went from a twelve to a fifteen so suddenly, his ghost's ectosignature changed?"

Jack grinned. "That would mean he has gotten new powers!"

Someone gasped behind them and they turned to see Andrew and Mikey in the doorway. A few other students behind them.

Andrew had his mouth open.

Mikey squeaked. "I can't wait to see what they are!"

Sam pursed her lips and pushed her way back to her seat. She plopped down and looked out the window. What could she do? Danny was probably freaking out now. Maybe he thought he was turning evil, which could obviously not happen because he would have to be stressed and depressed and with no will to live and so done that he wanted his humanity gone....oh and the side of him with no emotions (not saying that's his ghost half) had to bond with the pure evil that's Vlad....that too.

Tucker sat down next to her. "They say it's probably not too bad. Though his ectoplasm probably changed a lot. It had to accommodate to the surge of power so it changed, altering his looks too. His signature must be off the charts now," he chuckled. "I want to see the faces of the GIW when they see him."

Sam sighed. "What do we do."

Tucker frowned. "Don't you like how he looks? And he's more powerful now."

She nodded. "But his mental state isn't. He thinks he's like his jerky older self."

Tucker nodded. Danny had told them the rest of the story a few weeks after the incident. They had been questioning him about it a lot. Finally the realized they had been talking to evil Danny for a long time and they hadn't even noticed!! Well they had but not really paid attention to it. They felt so guilty for that. For not being there for their friend. For dying...ahem.

The students had trickled back, whispering among themselves.

"I wonder what cool new powers he has," Richard gushed. "Maybe it's awesomer than the ice power."

Chelsea waved her finger. "No, it's gotta be the echo thing. Since when does he have that?"

Neither Tucker, nor Sam were paying much attention. Too deep in thought. "Oh he's had it for a while now," Valerie mumbled.

Mikey snapped his head towards her. "How do you know?"

"Mmh?" Valerie looked. "I've seen him do it before. He doesn't use it much though. Probably because it's such a destructive power."

"Now that I think about it," Andrew frowned. "I didn't see you on the ship when we left."

Sheldon's eyes widened. "That's right. You suddenly disappeared." He glanced at Andrew. He isn't thinking what I think he's thinking, is he.

Valerie chuckled nervously. "Yeah I was on the ship. You didn't see me because of the chaos."

Kim cocked her head. She wasn't one to miss a student, usually very observant. And what was that with the Red Huntress? "Where's the Red Huntress?"

Mikey blinked. "Who?" Not many people knew of her given that she usually only hunted Phantom, or...Danny, for whatever reason.

Melissa gasped. "How can you not know who the Red Huntress is?"

Chelsea grinned. "I know right?! She's so awesome."

Valerie smirked. She didn't know she had fans.

Mikey looked between them in confusion. "Who are we talking about?"

Dash scowled. "She isn't awesome. All she ever does is hunt Ph- Danny." He blinked, realising another thing Danny had to deal with.

Valerie felt crestfallen. That was true. Well, not completely. She would sometimes shoo other ghosts away. Over the years she had started to feel obligated to help around where she could. No longer as driven by anger, frustration, revenge, or even lust for more knowledge and power. She used to believe if she knew enough of the Ghost Zone she could eradicate many ghosts. The less ghosts the world had, the better.

But not anymore.

Not since the trip. Actually, not since two years ago. After the incident with Dani she was starting to have doubts about how much she really knew.

Melissa crossed her arms. "That isn't true. She helps around a lot and has saved the town many times from ghosts. A hero like her should have much more appreciation."

Chelsea tsked. "It's because she's a woman."

Melissa nodded. "Take the HUNT incident yesterday. She helped us a lot there."

Andrew nodded. "But what was she doing there? How did she know we needed help? Isn't she human?"

Sheldon nodded. "Maybe she knew about Danny and wanted to catch him," he suddenly gasped. "Maybe she's part of the HUNT."

Andrew grabbed Sheldon's arm in excitement. "Yeah!! You might be onto something!!"

Chelsea pointed accusingly. "But why was she helping us!?"

Andrew paused considering. "She could have done it to gain our trust and catch Danny later. Or she's just saving him for herself!"

Valerie looked back and forth as her two apparent fans defended her honor. She didn't know whether to laugh or growl in annoyance.

Melissa shook her head. "She was clearly just helping. And she didn't take Danny after right? She just disappeared."

Kim was watching Valerie. Her brain clicking as it set into place. She put a hand on her mouth to block out the snort of laughter. James glanced at her questioningly. Kim only shook her head smiling.

Dash raised a hand. "I saw her help Dan- I mean me with the ghost at the castle. She just came and disappeared."

Sheldon frowned at him. "You never said anything about the Red Huntress helping?"

Andrew mumbled to himself as Dash shuffled nervously. "So the Red Huntress came to help us twice. I'm 87% sure she's human. What would she be doing in the Ghost Zone? She appeared just when we needed her as if she knew. But I didn't see her following us."

Sheldon turned to him. "Maybe she has some kind of camouflagable gadget in her suit."

Andrew frowned disapprovingly. "That's not a word, Sheldon. And I highly doubt it. Why would she be following us in the first place?"

Valerie decided to step in. "Maybe she's just a nice person who wants to protect you."

Melissa pointed at her. "Exactly."

Andrew narrowed his eyes. "You said 'you'."

Kim giggled.

Valerie scowled. "What?"

"You said: to protect you. As if you don't see yourself as a part of it."

Valerie blinked. "Oh really? I meant you as in you you because you're the one that's doubting her but I'm also including me and everyone else obviously."

Andrew snorted in disbelief. "Obviously."

Kim put her face in her hands as she laughed silently.

Mikey poked Sheldon. "Who are we talking about? Who is the Red Huntress?"

Andrew glared at Valerie, who was glaring right back. "That is the question."

Sheldon sighed and slung an arm around Andrew's shoulders. "Now don't go all Shakespeare on me, Drew."

Andrew glared at him, though his scowl softened just the slightest bit. "For the last time, Sheldon. I am not Nancy Drew."

"Mm-mmh."

Valerie quickly walked away and crossed her arms as she stood in between Tucker and Sam's seats. "Thanks a lot for the help."

Sam looked away from the window and took out her dark purple earphones. "What?"

Tucker looked up from his laptop. "What?"

Valerie waved her hands. "My secret is at stake here!"

Sam looked around to see everyone dispersing. "U-uh which one?"

"What do you think?!"

"Who's on to you?" Tucker asked.

"That blond, smartass kid....Andrew."

Tucker laughed. "Sorry but it's just hilarious how that kid jumps from one secret to the next. Oh no! He'll find out about my dating Lauren!!"

Sam didn't look up as she scrolled in her playlist. "Tucker that's no secret."

Valerie gasped. "You have a girlfriend?!"

Tucker frowned slightly. "Now that's just plain rude."

Sam wiggled her fingers. "Lauren is the tracker thing."

Valerie nodded. "Oh."

"She's not a tracker thingy!" Tucker exclaimed indignantly. "She's the GPS F6 200-"

Sam rolled her eyes. "No one cares, Tuck."

"WE'RE HERE."

Everyone turned to the front. Jack grinned and pointed outside. "We arrived at The Workshop."
