14-Frigid Waters
Nordur stared down at his son's limp body in shock, spines stiffening. His talons scratched grooves into the ice and his tail twitched, yet he took no notice. His eyes were only for the silvery-gray IceWing in front of him.
Suddenly, Nordur let out a sigh, shoulders slumping in defeat. His deep black eyes dulled, and his head and tail drooped.
Behind him, a pale white dragon slipped inside, and slowly walked up next to him. She sat down, wrapping a wing around her mate's shoulders as he continued to stare dully at their son.
He twisted to look at her, eyes glazed. No words were exchanged, yet Chomonix nodded, her dark blue eyes soft.
Abruptly, Nordur stood up, his legs seemingly shaky. His mate stretched out a paw to help steady him, but he shook it off, his head moving from side to side.
A slight growl escaped his throat, and Chomonix's eyes flashed briefly, but she backed off, allowing him to leave.
She watched as he swept out of the hut hurriedly, concern and something else in her eyes. She turned back to her son with a sigh, air whooshing out of her pointed nostrils.
She glanced at the entrance, before looking back at Wolf, then down at her paws.
She stared at her son's limp light gray form, willing him to wake up. Willing him to open his dark gray eyes. But of course didn't get up, no matter how much she yelled at him in her mind.
Chomonix frowned, light scales around her eyes bunching as she glared at the ceiling. Despite Nordur's words, she knew what she had to do. And she was going to do it, no matter what, stubborn mate be damned.
She had to save her dragonet.

Ghost's PoV
--------
I haven't seen Wolf for a long time, not since the day where he was flying. Flying away from me, further and further until he was no more than a speck in the sky and the equivalent of my crushed emotions.
I managed to survive the day, escaping with only a few bumps and bruises. Nobody tried to turn me into an ice statue, although I'm sure no dragon would've even cared.
I didn't even get harassed by Wolverine and his bullying friends.
Whoops. I spoke too soon. Me and my big fat mouth. There they ware; I'd be concerned if a day passed without their daily beatings.
I didn't even try to hide, due to the fact that they already spotted me, and my black and tan scales make it quite literally impossible to camouflage myself. At least, not when there's nothing black or tan around, just white, pale white, and blue.
Sure enough, they stalked towards me, a predatory gleam shining in their eyes. Cursing under my breath, I immediately shifted my gaze downwards; they hated it when I made eye contact.
"Hey Two-Eyes!" barked Kodiak, a huge paw slamming downwards into the ice, cracks radiating outwards.
Instinctively, I flinched back, away from his menacing talons, but Narwhal was there to bash the back of my head with her tail. "Show some respect!" she growled out, giving me another hit for good measure.
I winced, well aware of the sticky blood dripping down the side of my head, staining the snow red-purple.
Ox laughed harshly, seemingly highly amused by my pathetic form. And I wouldn't blame him.
Wolverine let out a laughing hiss through his teeth, pale frostbreath seeping out from between his jaws. It floated lazily to the ground, small purple crystals forming on the spots of blood.
"Hey, polar bear eyes!" Ox shouted in my ear. "You look us in the eyes when we're talkin' to you! Or are you too blind with that stuff in your eyes?" he scoffed, delivering a rough blow to the side of my head.
I sat there, stunned for a moment, black spots dancing in and out of my vision, taunting me.
'All brawn and no brains,' I thought, glaring up at Ox. His black eyes peered down at me, unmasked hatred and disgust boring holes into my head.
Narlwhal snarled, "I don't like that look!" and promptly kicked me in the ribs, causing me to stagger. Grinning evilly, Kodiak tripped me with his tail, scraping up my legs in the process.
I tumbled into the snow, and the quartet piled snow on top of me. "Leave him there to rot!" sneered Wolverine, and they all laughed, the crunching of snow fading away.
I inhaled, or at least tried to, but failed miserably because snow was right there to go up my nose. I winced at the stinging sensation in my skull, cold quickly settling in.
I floundered desperately, effectively dropping another heap of snow on top of me. I let out a grunt, trying even harder to escape now.
As I take a deep breath in, more snow flew up my nose, causing me to sneeze. As I do, my eyes shut on their own accord, pressure making me wince.
My eyes still shut, I am highly aware of the cold seeping in on all sides, unavoidable. I shiver slightly, curling up into a ball to try and keep in my body heat.
I really shouldn't have, but a small voice in the back of my head piped up, 'Someone will come help us. Maybe Avalanche will come and--' I shook my head, annoyed with myself.
Growling, I countered hotly, 'Why?! WHY?!! WHY DO YOU THINK SOME DRAGON WILL MIRACULOUSLY COME WALTZING ALONG, AND THINK, 'Oh, I'll just help the scum of Pyyrhia, which I so clearly despise, and then I'll be on my way and it'll all be good!'' I let out a huff, a small cloud of breath billowing out, which was quickly absorbed into the snow. 'No dragon is delusional enough to help me. Hear me?'
"NONE!!!" I roared into the small space, shaking from frustration and cold. "Why do I even bother to hope?"I muttered. "It's just useless."
'Not useless at all, actually,' the voice pointed out annoyingly. 'Some dragon out there cares about you, and you know it. That's why you hope, you hope for them.'
I shook my head vehemently. 'No. NO. I'm already certain that no one even remotely cares about me. Tell me, if any dragon cared, would I be stuck here right now?'
Silence.
'That's right. BECAUSE NO ONE GIVES A SINGLE SEAL FLIPPER ABOUT ME.' I hissed angrily, breathing heavily.
Despite the boiling deep inside, I shivered from the aching cold. It was extremely frigid, my huffs of breath coming out in small puffs.
I shivered, curling into an even smaller, tigger ball, tucking in my tail, careful not to scratch myself with my barb.
I felt my eyes slowly drooping shut, and despite myself, succumbed to the darkness awaiting me.
**A/N: Hello lovelies! It's another update!!!!! *gasp* I was very motivated this week to write something, so here's this chapter. Anyways. Did I ever explain the insult "polar-bear eyes?" If I didn't, here ya go: polar bears are fluffy, right? Lots and lotsa fur. So, they're kinda blind with their tiny little eyes and all that fur in their face. So when the bullies call Phantom polar-bear eyes, they're essentially calling him blind. Don't worry, they're gonna get it for beating up my poor bab. And.....Wolf is dead. Please don't kill meh! *runs away screaming as fans grab their weapons* *pokes head out* Is it safe yet? Hopefully this will keep y'all happy until the next update. Special thanks to mayaann05 for being my amazing editor! Love all my readers for their support. ❤️❤️ Don't forget to vote, comment, and share! Stay gold lovelies. -cycriss**
