Charlie and the Seven Deadly Sins (AU)
While doing my schoolwork, I thought up a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory AU called Charlie and the Seven Deadly Sins.
This time, eight golden tickets are spread out instead of five. Charlie finds one, and so do Augustus, Veruca, Violet and Mike. There are three other kids who find them, and their names are Marvin Prune, Angel Amura and Casey Furybar. The seven other kids beside Charlie represent the sins.
Augustus represents gluttony because of how much candy he eats on a daily basis. I don't think I need to elaborate there. He was gluttonous even in the book.
Violet represents pride because of how she brags about her achievements and how she's "not afraid of anything" because she's a gum-chewing master.
Veruca represents greed because she believes she's entitled to whatever she wants. Her dad spoils her rotten, and he even gives her all of the money she asks for from him.
Angel represents lust because she found her golden ticket when she bought a candy bar for a boy she had a heavy crush on but wouldn't notice her. When she got it, she decided that would have to wait because giving all of the candy he could ever eat sounded like a better gift of "love." When she got to the factory, though, she forgot all about him and started to crush on Mike instead.
Marvin represents envy because he tried to find a ticket as a way to one-up his classmates, having felt jealous of them and their achievements since he can't find anything to do with his life. He believes that he can achieve anything if he wants it hard enough, and this has made him feel angry towards Violet throughout the tour. He even laughed at her when she swelled up into a blueberry.
Mike represents sloth because technology has a way of making someone lazy. According to the song, too much television can make a kid "so dull and blind," and spending that much time on it can make you too sluggish to want to do anything else.
Casey represents wrath because of the behavior issues that he's had since preschool. The way he found his golden ticket was by him and his family stealing from a candy store and leaving nothing but 76 rubles. They lied and said they legitimately bought it, though. His family is just as hardened as he is, and his innate wrath was demonstrated when he punched Marvin randomly at one point.
Charlie doesn't embody any of the sins because he's the same pure little cinnamon roll he is in the canon. It still ends with him winning the factory. The four kids from the canon are eliminated the same way they are in said canon. In a smelling room, Angel inhales a scent that she believes will make anyone love her if she wears it, and sucking it up for too long causes berries to sprout from her arms and roots to sprout from her face. In a really rocky room, Casey and Marvin are eliminated together after they get in a rough fight and fall down.
