Chapter 3

Yo, Gemini,

Sorry this letter took a couple days, I'm surrounded by idiots and my school couldn't find the one you sent me last. Anyway, you said you wanted to meet in person I that sounds pretty cool. There's always that new cafe over by Cosmos High. Maybe we can meet there.

Talk to ya soon,

Scorpio

I drop my letter off in the office. The whole letter thing is kind of getting annoying to me, but it's the only way to communicate until I meet up with Gemini, so I walk out of the office and towards my first period class... U.S. History. Regretfully, I'm taking the AP course of the class because my parents wanted me to since I had the grades last year. I walk into the room, a beaming Cancer waving me over. "Morning Scorpy!" She says playing with her hair. "Didn't I tell you not to call me that," I roll my eyes, taking my seat behind her. "Maybe... but I like calling you that, sooooo," her voice trails off. She opens her mouth to say something else, but is cut off by the teacher walking in and starting to take attendance. I'll tell you later,  she mouths at me before pushing her attention towards the front of the room. I shrug as I lazily play with my pencil, waiting for the teacher to begin the lesson.

I only half listen to the lesson and before I realize it, the bell signifying the end of the period is ringing. Groaning and stretching, I pack my things and stand up, waiting for Cancer to get her stuff together. "What were you trying to tell me earlier?" I ask, adjusting my beanie a bit. She looks at me, confused before shrugging and laughing. I narrow my eyes at her, suspicious of whether she actually forgot or not. Before I can say anything more, Pisces runs up to us and slows down to a walk, panting. "Ran... all... the way... from... cafeteria" she seems to barely get out. "Why were you in the cafeteria?" Cancer asks, patting her back as she coughs. She clears her throat once more before speaking, "Had to meet with the vice principal." She plays with her hands shyly. Cancer gasps dramatically, "You?! What did you do Pi?!" I roll my eyes. "It's probably nothing, maybe just something about her wildlife club," I point out as Pisces nods. "Oh well," Cancer sighs.

We arrive at the classroom, sliding through the doorway just as the bell rings. The teacher watches us sit down while she taps her foot and is clearly not in the mood for shenanigans. I just smirk at  her as I get my notebook out. This class and the next three go by very quickly as I continue to space out. It's finally sixth period and time for lunch. I calmly walk to the cafeteria and impatiently get in line. I feel my stomach growl as I had once again skipped breakfast in the morning. I get my food and sit down, the last person arriving at the table as per usual. "Sooooo, how's it going with your guys' pen pals?" Cancer wiggles her eyes, her gaze darting to mine for a millisecond before retreating. Pisces smiles softly, "He seems nice, a lot of fun to talk to and always has a lot to say." Cancer nods enthusiastically, her wide eyes holding a gleam of excitement. "Mine is... She's..." I search for words, trying not to lose my cool, "she's pretty cool I guess." Cancer smirks at me and winks, Pisces doesn't seem to notice as she seems to be in her own little world.

"That's all you have to say?" Cancer leans in towards me, Pisces now alert and watching what's going on. I shrug nonchalantly, "yeah, that's it." Cancer sits back down in her chair and crosses her arms with a hmmph  sort of noise. Rolling my eyes for probably the nineteenth time today, I feel a small, mischievous smile form on my face. I can tell she notices because she scowls deeper, if that's even possible. Pisces just looks confused, but doesn't say anything. I mouth a quick ignore Cancer  to Pisces before getting up to throw the table's trash away. I walk past a table of girls who suddenly start giggling and whispering. I glance over at them, blank-face used to this kind of thing. It's very obviously a group of freshmen and as I turn away, I hear get moving and I suddenly feel a girl bump into me.

"H-hi," she sheepishly smiles, her face a bright red, "I'm Lily." I nod at her before turning back in the direction of the trash can. "Wait!" She suddenly shouts, I sigh and turn back towards her. "Yeah?" I ask, disinterested. "I think y-you're-" she gets cut off as Cancer bounds toward me and wraps her arm around mine, "who's this?" Cancer looks at me and the girl innocently and I know exactly what she's doing. The girl squeaks and runs back towards her table. I throw the trash away and Cancer and I laugh as we sit back at our table. "I still don't understand why that happens to me every year," I say, crossing my arms. "It's cause you're hot scorpy~" Cancer says with a singsongy voice. Pisces subtly nods as she looks at me and shrugs. "Yeah, whatever you say," I respond.

Hi this has been in my drafts for ages and I finally got around to finishing it. So sorry for the wait, especially since we still on the chapters that are really just introducing the characters and letting you get a feel for them smh. Next chapter is the last one of that and then the story can BEGIN! Also, I'm removing personalities from the character intros cause their personalities have kind of involved and I want to give the personalities a chance to evolve more throughout the story rather than forcing myself to stick to something. That was long. If you read that:
