•Ch.5•
IT WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS after the events and Lillian was feeling better. Everyone still wondered what the creature was but Lillian hadn't told anyone and intended to keep it that way. They all could tell she wouldn't budge and to Harry that was more of the reason to be concerned.
But today was a day Lillian was looking forward to because it was Hogsmeade day and all the children were able to go to the village and visit.
Not only that but she was to have her date with Fred and George told her to meet him at the front so their "fun could begin" as he put it.
All the students were outside and placed their permission slips and handed them to Filch and Professor McGonagall. As Lillian stood in her black and yellow scarf, as she wore a nice yellow sweater, a black skirt along with black tights, and black ankle boots. Newt was snuggled into her scarf and was enjoying sitting down.
"Now these visitations to Hogsmeade village are a privilege. Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way that privilege will not be extended." Professor McGonagall told them all.
Harry tried running up to hand McGonagall the permission slip but she stopped him.
"No signed permission slip, no visiting the village that is the rule, Potter." She told him sternly.
Sadly Harry hadn't gotten his slip signed because their aunt and uncle refused to. And because of that he wasn't able to go to the village. Harry tried to persuade the professor to sign but she told him she could not.
Lillian, Hannah, Hermione, And Ron were all waiting for him and hoped Professor McGonagall would sign it but as she walked away they knew the answer.
"Forget about it guys, see you later." Harry told them.
"But Harry! You should come, it wouldn't be the same." Lillian told him.
"I know but you have a date, and try to have fun while I'm here. Promise me?" Harry he told her.
She looked away in sadness and knew there was no way of convincing him and nodded.
"Don't be sad, besides there's always next year. And if Fred does anything bad, let me know." Harry said and She gave him the best smile she could and hugged her brother tightly.
"I'll bring you some sweets and stuff." She said and began to leave her brother, waving one last time and following Hannah, Hermione, and Ron.
They walked behind the group of students and Lillian was looking around to find Fred.
"I can't believe your going on a date with my brother, you could find someone better you know." Ron says jokingly to Lillian.
"I think it's sweet." Hermione said.
"Yeah, like you can do any better Weasley." Hannah added and Hermione laughed along with her.
"I'm very excited, but I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach." Lillian said.
Newt tapped her face and she looked down at him and saw him point. As she looked where he pointed she saw Fred standing there with a smile.
"My date awaits." She told them.
"Have fun, and don't be out too late." Hermione told her giving her a hug.
"I'll be hanging with Cedric, I have to meet him at the candy shop." Hannah said and hugged her too.
"Maybe my brother will be a gentlemen after all." Ron told her.
"Like you're one to talk." Hermione retorts making the two girls laugh.
Lillian waved goodbye and went over to Fred with a sheepish smile.
"You look amazing Lillian." He told her looking down at her.
"You too Fred." She said.
"I've got something for you." He pulled out something from his satchel and handed her a rose.
"Oh your too sweet." She said.
"Shall we?" Fred asked holding out his arm.
"We shall." She responded taking a hold of his arm and both laughing as they made their way toward the village.
•••••••••
Lillian was still holding Fred's hand as they walked around the village. Her eyes sparkled as she looked around at all the shops and villagers around. Fred could tell she was enjoying this but decided to take her on a few trips during their date.
"Alright so I first stop on this glorious date is at Honeydukes." He told her and as she looked up at the sign he opened the door for her and let her inside. She gave him a "thank you." And gasped at all the candies around her and especially the chocolate. She grabbed Fred's hand and looked at the different chocolate flavors.
"You can choose any you want as your first gift of today." He told her.
"But Fred.. I'm going to feel bad." Lillian said to him. "It's not fair."
"It's alright, besides I've been saving my money for this, just to spoil you." Fred said.
Her cheeks turned red at his thoughtful gesture and looked at all the chocolate bars and grabbed one that had Rice Krispies and caramel inside and a bag of Chocoballs. They went up to the counter and which Fred took out his money and paid for it. The old woman bagged the sweets for Lillian and gave her a kind smile as the two left the shop.
"Thank you so much Fred." She said to him.
"Anything for you." Fred said and placed his arm around her.
Lillian looked at the other shops and saw one shop that seemed to be one of Fred's and George's favorite, Zonko's. She grabbed his hand and began to tug him towards the direction.
"Where are we going Lillian?" He asked laughing a bit as she tried to tug him quickly.
"I'm going to do the same for you!" She exclaimed excitedly. "Since you let me choose anything I wanted from honeydukes, I want to do the same for you."
She opened the door and let them both inside and Fred's eyes gleamed in mischief.
"But Lily-" He was cut off by her.
"No buts, now come on, I heard they got new inventory too." She said trying to convince him and she did as he grabbed her to show her all the things that were his and George's favorites.
"Ooh look Fred, knockout mints. One of these will make anyone sleep for 8 hours." Lillian said holding one.
"Nah, I think this will do just fine." She looked at Fred and saw that he grabbed a dungbomb and hiccough sweets.
"well get some of these as well, would be nice to sleep for 8 hours." Lillian said grabbing a few and placing them in a little baggie.
It had been difficult for Lillian to sleep for the past couple of days getting up to 4 hours of sleep. Harry knew she had trouble sleeping but whenever he would bring it up she would change the subject.
"Lillian I told you our dorm is always open." He told her with a look of concern. She looked down in guilt.
"I know, but I don't want to disturb you." She said.
"You can never disturb me." He told her.
Lillian smiled once more as she paid for the items for Fred and letting him have something for their date. They left the store and we're out in the chilly air once more.
"So what's next on our adventure?" She asked him.
"Well I'm gonna take you to the Three Broomsticks, that place has amazing butter beer." He told her.
"Well that sounds amazing." She told him.
"Yeah and we can also-" Fred was the. Cut off because
of the cold weather, everything was beginning to freeze and Fred slipped on a piece of ice and fell. Luckily he didn't break or spill his items and Lillian held her hand over her mouth trying not to laugh.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, can you help me up?" Fred asked her holding his hand out.
She grabbed his hand and only to fall beside him, She then began to laugh uncontrollably at this and he joined in as well.
"Well I guess we are both clumsy." She told him.
"I guess we are." He said.
They both started to get up and carefully trying not to slip again and headed toward the pub and wanting to get out of the chilly outdoors.
••••••••
"So you're telling me that you once made Ron eat a spider?" Lillian says laughing.
"Well it wasn't all that bad but let's just say Ron didn't eat much for a couple of days which is a first." Fred said taking a sip of his butterbeer.
The two were sitting inside the three broomsticks and were enjoying their company. Fred could obviously see George and Lee spying on them and were fangirling tables away. Lillian was still on her first butterbeer as she was taking her time drinking, letting Newt taste the foam of the butterbeer and seeing that he liked it. Fred was on his second and it was his last not wanting to drink too much.
The two were exchanging stories about their childhoods and Fred loved hearing her stories of her in the loop.
"Okay how about another one of your siblings." Fred suggested.
"Well there was one time when Hugh and Millard once painted the whole house pink. Obviously Claire loved it." She explained. "Miss Peregrine wasn't too thrilled but I could tell she was also trying to hold her laugh."
"How did they do it?" He asked.
"Well they created their homemade bomb and used Claire's paint in order to do so. Luckily we were able to clean it all up." Lillian explained.
She remembered her family so dearly and missed them all so much. She missed her times with Emma and all the other children and spending her afternoons with Miss Peregrine and having chats of all sorts.
Miss Peregrine treated Lillian as if she was her daughter as she raised her from a babe. She understood that Lillian would grow up and would always tell her the truth since one day she would have to take care of peculiars as well, as any Ymbrine would.
"You must miss them." Fred said.
"Everyday, it's hard to be away from people you've known your whole life. But I'm lucky to have all of you." Lillian told them.
"Yeah you'll always have us Weasleys, we won't ever leave you even if you want us too." He said jokingly. He grabbed his jacket from behind him and went over to her. "Come on it's getting late, I think we should be heading back."
Lillian nodded and she got up as well grabbing her jacket and scarf. Securing Newt safely around the scarf so he could be comfortable and warm.
George and Lee were watching from afar and giving Fred a thumbs up and were enjoying it a little too much. Fred rolled his eyes and opened the door for her to go outside. Lillian took Fred's hand and they both began to walk the path back to Hogwarts.
"So are you excited to use your items from Zonko's?"
Lillian asked him.
"Yeah, probably gonna prank Filch or Snape." He told her looking in his bags of goodies.
"I'm excited to eat these chocolates probably eat them in one sitting." She said and Fred laughed.
They walked further and further down until they were at the entrance at Hogwarts and walked through the doors and going to the courtyard. Their date was ending and Lillian looked down and blushed.
"I really enjoyed today Fred, this was one of the best days ever." She told him.
He looked down with his hand on his neck nervously and his cheeks slightly blushed.
"Would you like there to be another one?" He asked and she took his hand and smiled.
"Of course." She said happily.
Newt tugged on Lillian's hair and she looked at him, she saw him make a kissy face and she rolled her eyes. She went to kiss Fred's cheek as she stood on her tippy toes but he moved his head and she kissed him on the lips. Both of them were shocked but they both melted into the kiss and Fred took Lillian's head gently and never wanted to let go. Both of them felt fireworks with their kiss and were sad when they parted.
"Wow." Fred said taken back by their kiss.
Lillian's face was so red and she too felt butterflies in her stomach and wanted to do it again.
"Can we do it again?" Lillian asked.
Fred didn't hesitate and pulled her back to him and kissed her again sweetly just as before. She placed his arm around his neck as he bent down to kiss her. They heard cheering and pulled apart to find George and Lee cheering.
"George, Lee I'm gonna kill you!" Fred said as the two ruined the moment. Lillian laughed as Fred raced after the two and shook her head, heading back to the dorm to tell Hermione and Hannah about her date.
The perfect date.
