"Of course, where are my manners." Alfie smiled, as he offered the woman his arm. Patting her hand, as she accepted the offer. The Londoner escorting the pilot over to where the three Shelby brothers stood.
"(Y/n), I would like ya ta meet John, Arfur and Thomas Shelby. The other half of this little endeavour." The London gangster announced; pointing to each man in turn, as he introduced them to their prospective driver. (Y/n) holding out her hand for them to shake.
"So, you are the boys from Birmingham? I have never been there myself, though now I know you three live there, I might have to have to change that." She chuckled, her eyes firmly on Thomas, as he kept hold of her hand for just a moment longer. Alfie rolling his eyes, before he let out an attention grabbing cough.
"Yes, Alfred............?" (Y/n) smiling, as she slowly pulled her hand from Thomas', and turned to look at the Londoner.
"What do you think............?" The man from Camden Town enquired, as he made his way over to the car, brushing his fingertips across the cold metal.
"Hudson Super Six. An inline-6 layout, with a total capacity of 289 cubic inches, an output of 76 bhp at 2450 rpm, with a 3-speed gearbox, 2-wheel mechanical brakes and a cast aluminium Miller-style aerodynamic nose........he's not bad............"
"He? I thought these things were always female.........." Arthur said, as he watched the woman lift up the bonnet and look at the engine.
"That is true, Mister Shelby; but if I am going to sit on anything with that kind of power, its going to be male." (Y/n) chuckled, as she continued to look over the car. Alfie letting out an amused snort, at the comeback.
"So, do you think you can drive it.............?"
"Think, Mister Shelby............?" (Y/n) said, as she looked up to see Thomas making his way over to her.
"No. I don't think I can drive it..........I know I can. You see, I have always been far better with things with engines, than those without. Where other little girls wanted ponies or puppies to play with, I could be found, much to my mother's chagrin might I say, pulling apart my mechanical toys and then trying to put them back together. Admittedly, some attempts worked out better than others; but with each failure I leant. And as I grew, I moved on to bigger and better things....... motorbikes, cars, planes; my father always there to encourage me. For even though some men might see a curious and enquiring mind, to be a waste in a woman, my father pushed me, inspired me. He bought me my first car and taught me to drive. Purchased a plane and taught me to fly; taught me how to keep them running......how to get the best out of them, to keep them alive. So, Mister Shelby, despite what you, your obviously skeptical brothers and many other men might think, not having a penis, does not mean that I cannot drive.......and drive fast..........." (Y/n) explained, as she pulled down the bonnet.
"But, in this case, actions speak louder than words; and I can tell you that I can drive fast, until I am blue in the face. But it won't mean anything unless I show you. So, if you will allow me to change into my overalls, I will take the old boy out for a spin and show you what we can both do......." She continued. Giving Tommy a smile, before she turned and made her way back to the plane.

Alfie spoke to (Y/n) and the Shelby brothers stood at the starting line, as the woman was helped into the car by the mechanic; last minute checks having been completed, as their perspective driver, changed out of her flying suit and into a simple set of dark overalls.
"I still think that this is a waste a fuckin time, Tommy." Arthur grumbled, as he pulled out a hip flask from his pocket, offering it to his brother, who shook his head; before Arthur took a hearty swig.
A part of Tommy couldn't help but agree with his older sibling; the head of the family firm, having to admit that he too was a little skeptical about having a woman driver. But given the amount of money he and Alfie had sunk into this endeavour, he doubted that the Londoner would steer them wrong on this. And the lady had certainly said all the right things, so he would see. Tommy, Arthur and John looking over as the engine of the car roared into life. Alfie coming to join them, stopwatch in hand. (Y/n) driving the car onto the starting line. The Londoner smiling broadly, as the mechanic counted loudly down from three; the dropping of his hand as he called out 'one', sending the car speeding down the opening straight of the 2.6 mile Grand Prix circuit. Tommy's eyes focused on the stopwatch, as they all waited for the Hudson to come around the Byfleet Banking, passed the Fork and up onto the home straight. Alfie letting out an amused chuckle, as the Super Six came into view. His thumb stopping the timer, as the car and its driver roared passed them. Alfie throwing the stopwatch to an amazed Arthur.
"Now, that is called puttin ya money where ya fuckin mouth is." Alfie said, as Arthur showed the time to John. Tommy smiling to himself, as he followed after the Londoner to the paddock. Ready to welcome their new driver.
