Arriving at the hospital they checked Jessica's vitals and got her situated.
She was soon started on Pitocin and now it was all a waiting game.

Jessica went into the hospital at two centimeters so they knew this was going to be a while.

It is now 12:00 pm. Jessica has been in labor for six hours.

"How do you feel?" Danny asks.

"I feel okay. I think I need to walk though. I need to get things moving."

"Whatever you want. You're doing great."

Jessica gives him a small smile then looks down as tears fill her eyes.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

"I don't know! I just want to cry." Her voice was high and shaky.

"Aw Boo.." Danny wraps his arms around her and rubs her back.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too.. I just want to see her."

"You will. And I bet she'll look just like you and Autumn."

"You think?" Jessica smiles softly.

"I hope so! You two are beautiful."

"Aw.. thank you, Danny."

"Of course, Boo Boo. This little girl is just destined to be beautiful." Danny holds her belly in his hands and kisses it.

Jessica giggles and runs her hand through his hair.

6:00 pm.

Jessica is still managing her pain well.  It's still early but she plans to go natural if possible.

"Her heart. Is she okay?" Jessica cried softly as a nurse checked on her.

"Yes ma'am. That's her heart beating."

"Yeah Jess, isn't it beautiful?"

"It's so beautiful." Jessica cried even harder.

Even though Jessica could hear her baby's heartbeat, she still worried and asked constantly if she was okay.

"She's moving a lot, can you check on her? I don't want her to get tangled in the cord like Sim....
Please!"

"Yes ma'am, we can do that. Just stay calm, everything is okay." The nurse said with a friendly smile.

"Thank you." Danny gave the woman a soft smile and nod.

The waiting and wondering was becoming unbearable for Jessica.  She just wanted her baby girl here now.
So many horrible thoughts ran through her mind.
She tried so hard to push them away and be happy, but she couldn't.  Every single second her son was on her mind.  His sweet face and his plumbed lips.
He was the cutest little boy Jessica has ever seen.

"I want him." Jessica mumbled as she cried softly.

"What, baby?" Danny comes closer.

"I want him!"

"Who?"

"Simba!"

"Baby—"

"I want Simba, but I want this baby too! Why can't I keep both?" Jessica looked up to Danny as tears poured down her cheeks.

Danny wiped her cheeks and sat beside her.
He held her hand and said, "Baby, he is here. He is apart of us, and he will never ever leave us."

"He would be so big now.."

"Jessie.."

"I don't want to lose her too.. I want to keep her, Danny!"

"Jessica, you are. Listen to that.... that's our daughter's heart. She's so strong and we're going to meet her soon."

Jessica reaches forward and pulls Danny towards her. "I love you.. I love you so much." She cries as she kisses him.

"I love you too, baby."

Two hours later.

"Alright Jessica, you're still at four centimeters so I'm going to go ahead and break your water."

Jessica nods her head as she breathes in and out.

"You're doing so well!"

"Thank you.."

Danny rubs her back and kisses the top of her head.

"You're so strong, Boo."

"Heh.. thanks."

"After this, it's going to be like a slip n slide.
She's going to slide right out of you, I just know it!"

Jessica looked at Danny and laughed.
"I hope so."

December 6th.

It is now 7:00 am. 25 hours since Jessica's labor first began.

Jessica was currently pacing the room the little time she had during contractions.

"Baby, you don't want to rest? Why don't you lay down?"

"No! I need the baby to come down." Jessica says breathlessly.

"Ow!" Jessica hunches over.

Danny quickly hurries to her side and she grabs onto him.

She wanted to scream but she didn't want to frighten her unborn child. Instead she stayed very calm and took deep breathes.

"Good girl.. nice and easy.. you're doing so well."

Jessica let out the softest moans during her contraction.
Afterwards she walked over to the bed where her son's stuffed animal sat. Jessica took it then sat it on her belly.

"You need to tell your little sister to hurry her booty up." She smiles.

She then turns to Danny and says, "We're gonna have a new little baby on Christmas morning."

Danny smiles. "Christmas morning with my girls."

"And our handsome little angel."

"Of course.  This little girl is his gift to us."

"Yes she is."

Just then Jessica gets yet another contraction.

"Ah!" She gasps.

"Already?!" Danny's eyes widen.

"Yeah.. Ohhhh..
She's coming." Jessica says in a calm voice.

"What?"

"Help me up on bed, please."

Danny helps her up and Jessica takes deep breaths.
"She's coming, I can feel her. Call a nurse, please."

"How are you so calm? How are you this incredible?"

Jessica looks at Danny with tears in her eyes.
She smiles very softly and says, "Daniel.. this type of pain is only temporary. Losing my son is what really hurts. This is agonizing.. but in the end I'll have another precious baby to hold and to love forever.  It's all worth it."

In tears, danny leans down and kisses her lips.

Just then a nurse comes in to check her.
Sure enough Jessica was right.

"Ten centimeters! It's time to push." She smiles.

Jessica smiled and grabbed Danny's hand.
She was terrified of what was to come, but she just prayed with everything she had that her baby girl would make it here safely.

"Okay Jessica, deep breath in and push as hard as you can, alright?"

Jessica nods her head and pulls her legs back with Danny's help.
She takes a deep breath and pushes.

"Good! Keep going, keep going! Beautiful, Jessica! Deep breath in and push again." The nurse says.

Jessica does what she is told and pushes once again.

"Good! Relax and wait for the next contraction."

Jessica let's out a deep breath and lays her head back.

"You're doing great!" Danny smiles.

"Thanks.."

"I'm serious, you can actually see the top of her head already!"

"Is her hair dark like Simba's?" Jessica smiles.

"You really wanna know already?"

"Yeah, tell me!" Jessica's smile grows.

"She barely has any hair at all." Danny chuckles. "At least from what I can see so far, it doesn't look dark."

"Oh wow!" Jessica giggles before getting another contraction.

"Okay Jessica, deep breath in."

Jessica took a deep breath, closed her eyes and really concentrated on getting her baby here.

Flashbacks of Autumn's birth came to Jessica's mind. Then flashbacks of Simba's.

Between the incredible amount of pain, worry, joy, and sadness that filled her body, Jessica felt like she was going to explode.  Instead, she put all of that into her pushing. It's been long enough; over 25 hours. It is time to meet her newest daughter.

Just two minutes later and baby girl was almost here.

"Oh my gosh Jess, her whole head is out!  She's so cute!" Danny says with excitement.

"Keep pushing!  You're doing so good, baby!"

Jessica was beginning to feel extremely exhausted.
She laid her head back and whined very quietly.

"No Jessie, keep going.  She's almost here, Boo!"

Jessica takes a big breath in and pushes with everything she has.

"Oh my gosh, that's it!  Oh wow!" Danny's eyes went wide as the baby finally made her entrance.

They immediately helped Jessica with her gown and placed the baby on her chest.
Jessica was now sobbing hysterically.

"Oh my gosh!  Is she breathing?  Is she breathing?!" Jessica repeated.

"She's breathing mama, look at her." The nurse smiles.

"Is she alive?" Jessica asked in the most hurtful cry.
It was like she couldn't grasp the fact that her daughter was actually alive.

"Yes, listen, she's crying!"

"She's breathing, Jessie.  She's perfect.. she's so so perfect." Danny says in tears as he reaches over and holds his daughter's hand.

"Hi baby girl!  It's daddy." He smiles.

Jessica holds her daughter and bawls her eyes out.
"I love you!  I love you my princess.." She kisses the baby's head.

"You did it, Jess. She's here!"

Jessica looks up and smiles at him for a brief moment before turning back to the baby.

Danny kisses Jessica's cheek and says, "What are we gonna name this pretty girl?  And don't try Summer again." He chuckles.

"Awww!  But I love that name!" Jessica smiles softly.

Danny looks down to the baby and thinks.

Suddenly Jessica gets an idea.
"How about.. Julia Summer?"

"You really love Summer, don't you?" Danny chuckles.

"I do!  What do you think?  We both get a name.. Julia Summer Huston."

Jessica smiled at the baby who had now calmed down being in her mother's arms.
"What do you think, baby girl?  It's your name.  Tell me your thoughts." Jessica giggles.

The baby girl looks up to her mother and smiles.
She was so alert for being just about a minute old.

Even more tears rolled down Jessica's cheeks.
"You're here.. I can't believe I'm holding you and you're moving around!
..I prayed so hard for you, baby girl!"

Danny swallowed the lump in his throat and said, "Little miss Julia Summer.. you are mommy and daddy's little sunshine after.... after a horrible horrible thing happened to our family.
..I guess Summer isn't such a bad name after all. Summer brings sunshine.. and the couple minutes we've known you.. our life is so much brighter, baby girl."

Jessica looks at Danny and smiles.
Danny kisses her lips before placing a kiss on Julia's forehead.

Jessica smiles down to the baby and says, "Welcome to the world, Julia Summer.. Little Ju Ju." She giggles.

Jessica then looks up and with a big beautiful smile and says, "Thank you, Simba."
