Taehyung: I'm going out, I'll be back before 9

Jin: I'm surprised you're up this early

Taehyung: It's 12:15...

Jin: exactly. but ok, be careful and have fun wherever you're going

Taehyung: Yeah, thanks

Taehyung walked into MiMi's Cafe at exactly 12:30. The cafe wasn't too crowded so he saw Hoseok easily by the window.

"Hello, welcome to MiMi's Cafe! A seat for one?" A cheerful worker said from the desk in front of Taehyung. He honestly didn't notice the worker.

"Um, I'm here with him." Taehyung responded, pointing to Hoseok.

The worker smiled and nodded. He grabbed a menu and the utensils that were wrapped in a napkin from behind the desk, then lead Taehyung over to the table.

Taehyung was kind of nervous, he'll admit. He didn't know what was going to happen or what was going to be said. He didn't want to anticipate.

The worker left as soon as Taehyung sat down and he set the menu and utensils down.

"Hello." Taehyung greeted quietly.

Hoseok smiled widely upon seeing Taehyung. "Hey, Tae. How've you been?"

"I've been good, I guess. You?" He wanted to at least make conversation with the guy. He was getting free food after all.

"I've been getting better...for you. Tae, I miss you."

Taehyung shook his head. He knew this was coming. "No, you don't. You only miss my body as a punching bag."

"I'm sorry for what I've done, okay? If I could go back in time, I would have never laid a finger on you. Please, Taehyung, believe me."

Taehyung looked at Hoseok. Hoseok was crying and Taehyung didn't know why. He should be the one crying.

"Hoseok I don't love you anymore. I don't even know if I can forgive you. You broke me, and even though it's been a year, I'm still recovering. I've never experienced pain like that until I met you. I'm honestly traumatized." Taehyung was keeping a straight face but he doesn't know how long it's going to stay.

"What...um what did y-you do with the ring?" Hoseok asked through tears.

"I kept it."

"Why?"

"I couldn't find it in me to throw it out or give it back. That doesn't mean I still love you, though."

"I gave you that ring because I love you. If you don't love me, why do you still have it?" Hoseok asked confused. He truly didn't get it. If Taehyung didn't love him anymore, why won't he get rid of the ring?

Taehyung sighed. He had a few reasons why he still has it. But, he's going with the important one.

"It reminds me that I was loved how I was supposed to be loved." Taehyung said quietly. He was staring out the window and watching the cars pass by.

"I can love you in a new way." Hoseok pleaded. He reached across the table to take a hold of one of Taehyung's hands.

Taehyung didn't pull away like Hoseok expected. He looked at Hoseok and then their hands. Taehyung used his thumb to run over Hoseok's knuckles in a comforting way.

"I'm sorry," Taehyung said. "but if you really want to be in my life again, don't come on so strong." Then he got up and left the cafe, leaving Hoseok to his thoughts.

Taehyung never got his free food.
