Soundwave stared at the form suspended in the much larger container. It would twitch at odd moments, but never made any significant movement. He stared at himself, suspended within yellow liquid, not quite a gel but still thick. It was decided to keep the growing form within Darkmount, instead of on the Nemesis or Shockwave's quickly growing laboratory on Earth. Soundwave felt far more comfort in knowing (Y/N) was near, and not that far of a walk away.

He dared brush the thick glass with his thin digits, golden glow reflecting off his visor. The form within was curled into a fetal position, obscuring what possible view of the faceplate there could have been. From the beginning (Y/N)'s new faceplate had been hidden somehow, as if Soundwave's natural mystery was part of his CNA. (Y/N) would have all he did, from alternate form to his very features, as far as he knew. Soundwave understood that would be dangerous if she were to decide to refuse his gift. More like a plea, but she may not be comfortable with her new visage, so he made a visor exactly like his own.

:If she respects you, she will wear it.: Laserbeak told him through their cherished bond. :We are only fortunate you did not have to share a piece of your spark to... I guess jump start her.:

Indeed. Shockwave had made a rather interesting discovery upon his inspection of his new project.

"She has no spark," he had noted, "however, I believe in the beginning the human and Soundwave were not connected, only thought and processed on the same wavelength."

"Then there is no connection at all?" Knockout questioned, having been staring at the scans he had failed to find anything with.

"Not until this anomaly developed." Shockwave took over the screen, much to Knockout's disagreement and brought up a completely different set of scans. Knockout noted they were to detect foreign energies but would not reveal any form of spark (Y/N) may have developed. Shockwave explained his research monotonously. "As your scans provided nothing, I had widened the search. As described and logged by the human's manufactured optics, a strand of the Matrix came in contact with her. She later touched Soundwave. This energy was what began the anomaly and their bond, however the blast from the stasis beam while she was aboard the Nemesis caused an energy surge which forced the energy from the Matrix to take refuge deeper in her organic form."

"You lost me." Knockout frowned, finding difficulty in following the droning of Shockwave. It made science far less interesting.

"In other words," Shockwave's words held a faint irritated edge to them as he spoke them slower, "the energy from the Matrix would grow with her body, as it has grown with her experience, and retreated to roughly where a spark would reside. From her manufactured optics to taking refuge in her chest cavity. Soundwave and the human were connected within the wavelength, and this piece of the Matrix acts as that bond and a spark of life."

The scientist also warned Soundwave that the connection would most likely grow with the woman as she was transformed. She would be becoming more like him as time went on, and in the two days it had taken so far, he felt her presence grow in his processor, and a yearning. The pain in his spark had dissipated, being replaced by a great excitement that made his spark swell with a barely bridled happiness. He had expected a far worse outcome of it, resulting in (Y/N)'s termination, but whatever anguish he predicted gave way to ease and contentment. The pain was gone.

The citadel of Darkmount suddenly shook, and Soundwave let the cameras flash before his optics, watching as the Predacon returned with no trophy.

So, the Autobot still lives. It held no urgency to the mech unless he was directly summoned, so he remained by the growing form's side.

:Soundwave, why are we as excited as we are?: Laserbeak questioned, but Soundwave held no answer, aside from speculation he had kept to himself.

:I have my theories.: he stated simply, and his friend understood that they were just that: theories based on thought and speculation, so none of it was set in stone or considered fact.

:She is beginning to become more active as she completes her transformation.:

Soundwave nodded silently, watching as (Y/N) moved once more. Her digits twitched as Soundwave glided his servo across the glass gently. He admitted missing cradling her in his servo, but the pain he felt was long gone so this was far better. He watched intently as a bubble floated up through her folded arms that covered her facial features, and he swore to have seen a closed optic, though it was only a fleeting glance.

:You are like a prying Vehicon.: Laserbeak teased, and Soundwave took his servo from the clear glass.

He supposed he was curious about the femme suspended in her glass prison. And yes, he hoped to see her faceplate. Would it be anything like his, or would her DNA mingle and alter certain aspects as it did her identity as a femme? Of which she had remained. He didn't think he was prying, however. This was his business, after all. Though (Y/N) always appreciated some form of privacy.

:Do you think she hears us?: Laserbeak questioned rather randomly, but the occasional inquiry would rise between the two of them. Of course, he meant their movement, not their conversations through their master and servant bond.

Soundwave was about to answer when he received a summons by his leader. It was not unexpected, as Soundwave had been repeatedly visiting the femme, but it was not because he neglected his work. If anything, with the new responsibility of Darkmount weighted on the purple mech's shoulders, he had increased his workload and returned even higher than Megatron's expectations with the human suspended in a possibly dangerous situation of being cyberformed.

The war lord had noticed his Third in Command's urgency to save the life of the human femme and could only guess their connection had been solidifying while Knockout was at a loss for how to remove it. Soundwave showed no sign of wavering in his duty to the Decepticons, but a distraction as strong as (Y/N)'s could not be risked. Not when the infamous gladiator could tell his most trusted soldier was in pain at being separated from his charge. Megatron knew the smaller mech well, and could speak of anything with him, but this he had not briefed because of the embarrassment Soundwave surely, already felt.

The silver titan looked to his Communications Officer as he neared his thrown. The mech was tired of Starscream's taunting after the beast had retrieved nothing of the Autobot Wheeljack or his partner, Bulkhead.

"I trust our new recruit is comfortable?" he alluded to the human-turned-cybertonian, earning a nod in response. "Excellent, and the search for the Autobots?"

Soundwave showed several Decepticon signals searching for their enemy, but no report of their whereabouts since Laserbeak had been nearly fried to a crisp. Of which Soundwave still had yet to pay them back for. Such a luxury could wait, however. He had more pressing matters to attend to.

"Disappointing." Megatron hummed, though it was not pointed at Soundwave's efforts. "Keep watch over the human telecommunication systems. Any sign of the Autobots or their brats will be directly investigated."

The smaller mech nodded, his watchful optic lingering a moment on the beast Shockwave clearly doted upon. It was his life's work come to fruition. His passion. Soundwave's passion had always been the renewing of Cybertron's Golden Age and the throwing away of the caste system, of which he had been a part of for a time. And then it was the triumph of the Decepticons to bring that Golden Age into reality. All his goals were still yet to be reached, but he worked toward them with fervor.

The sudden resting of Megatron's servo on his shoulder alerted Soundwave that the war lord wished to speak with him privately as Starscream continued to whine about the Predacon. The TIC nodded, and they escaped into the halls. Soundwave let Megatron lead as they walked side by side.

"I'm sure you recall our battle in Kaon." Soundwave's leader stepped with his servos clasped behind his back plates. "It was not to the death, but I was allowed to bring you very close to it. You fought expertly, yet no one believed you could win. The fight was orchestrated for you to lose specifically."

     Soundwave nodded.

"(Y/N) is winning that fight right now." He admitted, earning the quick and startled swivel of Soundwave's helm toward him. "I know you well, my friend," he stated lowly, looking to the mech below him, "and there is little I have not noticed, but your willingness to save (Y/N)'s life confirmed it. Whether you have liked it or not, the connection has taken hold of your spark, and has strengthened with her transformation. I do not completely condone the outcome, but I see nothing but benefits so far. Once (Y/N) has been released from her containment, she will be under your direct authority. No one else's aside from mine. This is for your safety."

Soundwave nodded, turning his helm back to their path, only for the lither of the two to stop abruptly.

"What is it?" Megatron raised a brow, and Soundwave showed the cellphone usage of both the humans Jack and Miko, as well as Decepticon troops being sent out, more than likely by Starscream. Soundwave didn't trust it, further suspicion rising as an emergency S.O.S. was sent by one of their mining outposts. "Send the Insecticons to snuff them out!"

Unsure but obedient, Soundwave did just that before the two appeared via Soundwave's groundbridge in one of the many technical rooms of Darkmount. This one in particular held Starscream as he hollered at the screen in his frustration.

"What do you mean it's not under attack?"

The shaking of Darkmount proved Soundwave's silent theory correct, and he looked to Megatron, who grimaced at being tricked by the Autobots. Soundwave provided the answer as to how they were so easily duped, bringing up the location of their downed air ship the Harbinger. Outraged, Megatron ordered for Starscream to fix his mistake, the shaking of Darkmount, though small, bringing their attention back to the threat just outside their door.

Soundwave watched from his usual distance when the fight was not in need of him in the field, remaining at the controls of Darkmount and the Nemesis. He sent silent orders to the Vehicons within the citadel, watching over the cameras as security tightened, and soon two intruders were revealed. He later received an order from Megatron to release the Predacon, and Soundwave obliged. However, its disappearance through an unknown groundbridge greatly taxed their firepower.

The purple mech was glad to report the two intruders had been subdued, watching the surveillance cameras as Megatron beat the Autobot Commander Ultra Magnus, and Shockwave, with the help of the Vehicons, circled the two wreckers outside the citadel. He also kept a constant video feed open of (Y/N), ensuring nothing went amiss with her continued formation.

Soundwave did not join his peers at the peak of Darkmount, remaining below and monitoring the life signals that dotted the citadel as he walked down the halls once more. He turned a corner sharply, startling some rushing Vehicon drones who hurried on their way. When a new life signal appeared on his visor, the mech halted, and watched it.

It was air born, but not a Decepticon.

A new sense of urgency grasped his spark, and Soundwave bridged himself to the laboratory room that held (Y/N). She remained motionless and tranquil, even as the walls around her shook with the force of the newly upgraded Prime's landing.

Soundwave checked over the vitals and progress of the femme hurriedly, but the shaking of the citadel urged him to release her. He wondered if Megatron could buy him enough time for (Y/N)'s progress to complete, seeing that her formation was nearly finished, have just reached its 98th percent mark. When the room jerked, and the container cracked from the movement, however, Soundwave realized Darkmount was lost.

He activated the release of the yellow liquid, watching on his visor as the canon's power supply continued to erupt. The container wasn't emptying fast enough.

:Master, she will die here!: Laserbeak urged, and Soundwave nodded, pointing a well-aimed blaster at the crack within the glass.

Picking up the visor he had manufactured, Soundwave placed it over (Y/N)'s faceplate before even he could catch a glimpse. Hauling her unbreathing body into his arms, the lingering yellow liquid dripped from her frame to his. Laserbeak did not complain about being trapped between them as Soundwave bridged to his personal quarters of the Nemesis. He placed the femme on his berth before a message from Shockwave told him he was in need of a groundbridge, so using the last of his energy stores, Soundwave obliged, kneeling to the floor as he lost much of his strength, only to collapse in exhaustion.
