It certainly wasn't expected, nor could be calculated.

(Y/N) was alive but may not ever wake up from her death-sleep. She remained suspended in a small container, torn clothes flowing as a bubble or two would rise from the bottom. It was the best Knockout could do on such short notice, with the urgent order to inspect the rubble of the destroyed Omega Lock. Still, Soundwave felt at ease that she may live, despite her vegetative state.

Small cords were attached to her tiny, human helm, as well as snaking under her shirt to monitor her heartbeat and lung activity as air was forced through a small tube that covered her nose and mouth. Knockout explained the gel was to extract and hold any toxic impurities that may have entered her skin. Its neon blue color made the woman look cold.

Soundwave wanted to hold her in his lithe arm, keeping her near his spark to make her feel warm again.

"She's fully functional," Knockout had explained, but the readings Soundwave watched constantly would flux and the video footage of her form would twitch as if pained by some invisible force. Maybe she was in pain, as he was.

:Soundwave, if (Y/N) lives, and wakes up, do you think she'll be the same?:

Laserbeak's question was unexpected, but they both felt guilty at the thought of (Y/N) being forced to endure some self-inflicted torture all for one measly stunt. The three children would have been more than enough to gain all four Omega Keys. Why did he have to drag her into the mix? If brain damage had occurred, then it would be his fault, and (Y/N) may no longer be useful to the Decepticons.

:Let's hope she will be.: Soundwave replied, believing his Minicon's question deserved an answer, however indirect it may be.

Megatron had quite taken to his new home of Darkmount, though the lingering absence of the Autobot corpses weighed heavily on his mind as he brooded on his new throne, Soundwave and Starscream at his right.

Very little was recovered from the destroyed Omega Lock. Aside from the Apex Armor and a few other trinkets. There wasn't much to salvage, not even from the decimated Autobot base. How Arachnid's stasis pod and the Forge of Solus Prime seemed to stay intact without a trace of damage, no one was sure. It mattered little as Megatron received word from Knockout.

"I am in need of good news, Knockout." The war lord growled, so the CMO needed to act wisely as he emerged from the space bridge.

"Well, fortunately, I found a little something. And someone."

The crazed surgeon stepped out of the way as Megatron stood from his throne. Starscream quivered as large pedesteps began to make their slow plod from the spacebridge, and Soundwave remained as stoic as ever. All took a step back as the infamous Shockwave was revealed amongst the swirling portal of greens and blues.

"Perfect." The war lord's look of astonishment melted into a hideous smile. "Welcome back, Shockwave. You're just the tactical advantage the Decepticons need."

     The emotionless scientist bowed stiffly.

"I am here to serve." The mech straightened, his antenna swiveling as he glanced at Starscream, then Soundwave.

"Excellent. Follow me, Shockwave, and I will brief you on the happenings in your absence."

The scientist was obedient, and Megatron led the tour through Darkmount until they reached the loading dock that held the Nemesis. Shockwave was silent except to answer the occasional question or make his own inquiry. When they reached the main bow of the war ship was when Shockwave began his tale of the time spent on Cybertron.

Alone and un-interrupted, he had continued his work. No law bound him, and no rush hastened his slower procedures. His stare down with Starscream was unnerving, and Soundwave wasn't sure of the usually emotionless and rather sadistic scientist would give in to rage for being left behind. He had been stranded for years, but solitude was his preferred state of living. The war had broken that, so the mech might have considered it a mercy compared to death.

Soundwave then thought of something, stepping forward to make his query.

"There is something you wish to make apparent?" Megatron quirked a metal brow, having noticed Soundwave's step was quite quick, meaning something was weighing heavily on his processor.

The lither mech displayed the security footage of (Y/N) on his visor, and Megatron knew exactly what his most trusted was alluding to.

"The indigenous life of this planet?" Shockwave questioned.

"Yes, this one in particular has been of great use to us." Megatron informed. "She received internal damage during our battle with the Autobots on Cybertron. They are a very weak and fragile species known as a human. Nowhere near our intelligence but this one showed promise and proved herself quite willingly that she can handle the presence of titans. We do not know how to wake her, nor how to keep her body from destroying itself without constant medical aid."

"And the reason for not simply allowing her life to fade? Wasting resources is not a logical choice of action if she is unable to wake from this stasis." Shockwave looked to his lord and master.

"Somehow," Megatron watched the video footage for another moment, "a connection between her and Soundwave developed. They share a life, nearly. It has shown through physical means, even. We are only fortunate this instance is not something they share."

"A connection between something without a spark with our own kind is near impossible." Shockwave stated, having been watching the human's vitals that had also been displayed on Soundwave's visor. "This is not a common spark beat, and is erratic in rhythm, I suspect from the internal damage. However, since the female is of interest to you, I will propose a possible means of meeting your goal."

Possible was all Soundwave needed to hear as his visor lost the color of picture and became a black void once more. He listened and watched intently as the Decepticon scientist revealed his latest project on the main screens of the control room.

"I have been researching a lead to a powerful asset." He explained monotonously.

"Cyber Nucleic Acid?" Knockout hummed with a doubtful smile.

"This particular specimen was found many years ago. Extracting it from a specimen allows for the complete regeneration of that body."

"So, you're suggesting we clone someone?" Starscream huffed. "And somehow transfer the human femme into that body? We'll have a repeat of C.Y.L.A.S.!"

"It is not the question of transferring the human into a body," Shockwave explained, "but rather, replacing her organic matter with CNA."

The idea intrigued the war lord greatly as he stared at the screens of the main control room. If this project was successful, then (Y/N) would be a very formidable opponent to the Autobots. If it failed, it wouldn't be a major blow to the Decepticon cause, but her connection with Soundwave was concerning. However, if the infamous scientist was right, then their strange connection could potentially be just a fluke.

"Whose CNA will she inherit?" Megatron questioned, meaning he was on board with the potentially harmful idea. "The one you show here?"

"No." Shockwave answered. "The specimen here has already been produced, and by your command I will be more than willing to release it. However, for the human femme, I would suggest a donor."

"A simple Vehicon would do in that case." Starscream grimaced. "I'm certainly not allowing the creature to have any visage close to mine!"

"As intriguing as having two of me around, I'm afraid it would do well to not have that kind of confusion aboard the war ship or within Darkmount," Knockout shook his helm when he was stared at, "and having a Shockwave look-alike could be potentially disastrous, not to mention disturbing to our esteemed scientist."

"I do not think (Y/N) should be demoted to resemble that of a Vehicon drone." Megatron muttered, flicking his optics to Soundwave as he stepped forward once more. "I didn't think you'd be the first to step up to the idea. Then again, perhaps I did." He remembered Soundwave's hurry when (Y/N) was suffocating silently.

"Would it really be wise?" Starscream muttered, wings stiff behind him. "If Shockwave's experiment really does work, we'd have two Soundwaves and possibly no way to differentiate the two! What if the human betrays us?"

         "Hypocrite." Knockout muttered.

"Quite the contrary, Starscream." Megatron purred as he smirked to his Third in Command. "If Shockwave's experiment works, then we will have two lethal and esteemed soldiers. Soundwave and his shadow."
