Once Upon A Time

Harry: Peter Pan

"Let's try that again love, where's Peter?" the man in front of you questions, circling you while you stand in front of him with your mouth firmly closed. "I'm not in the mood for games sweetheart, tell me what I want to know and I might let you live" he says again, forcing your chin upwards so he can look into your eyes and you waiver for a moment. His intense stare bores into yours, his messy waves flicked across his forehead carelessly and he's easily the manliest person you've seen since entering Neverland. He was young, that much was evident as his face wasn't marked by the harshness of time, but that didn't make him less of a man in comparison to the ones that surrounded him. "Fine, take her away" he demands, flinging his arm and where there should be a hand, a hook replaces it. "Harry Styles but you might know me by my more, colorful name... Hook, Captain Hook" he bows dramatically, hook extending as he looks up at you with a smirk. "And yours love... if you're going to my guest on my ship, I demand your name" he says, catching a wayward strand of hair with the end of his hook and you shudder from fear and something else, something you'd never experienced with Peter; a boy, forever a boy. "More like your prisoner" you spit, gasping when he seizes your bound hands from behind you back with his good hand and presses his hard chest against yours. "Don't be rude love when I'm being so generous. I could just throw you overboard and be done with it, but then your precious Peter wouldn't be coming to your rescue and he's the prize here you see" he snaps, tapping your chin with his hook before he asks for your name again. "Wendy Darling" you say confidently, trying not to stammer before he pushes you away and into the arms of another pirate. "Take her to the brig" he demands, stalking away towards the wheel and you let out a sigh of relief as you stumble against the hardwood of the ship and down the stairs into the dingy cell. You curl into the corner and cry; cry for your brothers whom you're sure you'll never see again, cry for Peter who would never be the man Hook was, and cry for your misfortune that the one person that caused your stomach to flutter is your captor and hell bent on his revenge against Peter. "Just my luck" you whisper to yourself, wiping at the tears that stain your cheeks when the door at the top of the steps opens days later. "Now love, why don't you tell me what I want to know and I'll let you go" Hook says, running the curve of his hook along the cell bars so they make a noise. "Please, I don't know where he is... I don't know, anything. Please, let me go" you beg, wrapping shaking fingers around the bars as you peer up at him from your position on the wet, dirty floor. Hook peers at you for a long moment before he unlocks the cell door and pulls you up on your weak legs and unsteady feet before he marches up the stairs and down a hallway. "You'll stay here until we dock" he tells you, giving you a once over before slamming the cabin door shut and you collapse against the bed in tears.

Liam: The Little Mermaid

You duck behind the rock when the coughing man on the beach awakens and sits up against the sand. You chance a glance to find him searching for the soul who'd saved him, glancing back when the older man leads him back towards the castle looming in the distance and you let out a sigh. Your father would not be happy with you for saving the humans life but, how could you let him die? You loved this human, more than you loved the sea and move than you loved being a mermaid. "Going above water is strictly forbidden! Humans are miserable creatures and they'll kill you the first chance they get, why don't you understand that?" you father shouted, trident held firmly in his hand and you sigh. "Because I love him daddy" you shout back, hand clasping over your mouth at the outburst and the trident glows. "Daddy no" you beg, hoping to stop his tirade as he destroys everything you've ever collected and stored in your beloved cavern until everything is dust and ash against the waters you're supposed to call home. "I can give you what you seek, for a price of course" Ursula had told you, the sea witch watching gleefully as you'd signed your name at the end of the contract binding your soul to her doing should the prince not kiss you within three days time. "Now swim, swim for your life" she cackled, watching as you pumped your legs back and forth before your beloved best friend, a fish named Flounder, offered you his back before swimming towards the surface. "You're... what's your name? Have we met before?" the man asked, gazing at you from your spot on the rock in front of him and you nod. "We have met, I knew it! You're her, you're the voice I've been hearing since that night at sea" he exclaims in excitement, taking your hands in his and you smile while nodding. "What's your name?" he begs, eye washing over you and your mouth opens but nothing comes out. "You, can't talk can you?" he asks dejectedly, watching as your hand closes around your throat and you shake your head. "Liam... my boy, you've wondered too far... who is this?" an older man questions, watching as you stand on shaky legs and Liam shrugs. "She can't speak, we'll take her back to the castle" Liam says firmly, helping you down the beach towards his castle. He's disappointed that you aren't the voice he's been hearing for the past several nights, the voice that had saved him that night at sea but you're beautiful and kind and that's all he's ever wanted in a bride. "I wish I knew your name... maybe I could guess" Liam says one night as he rowed across the lagoon he'd been more than eager to show you and you nod. "Elizabeth... Hannah... Bethany, no... hmmm" he guessed, chuckling at the expressions you'd made at each name. "Ariel, her name is Ariel" a voice tells him and he furrows his brow. "Ariel?" he questions, smiling when you nod in excitement. "Alright, Ariel... that's, actually really beautiful" he says, mesmerized at the way you're looking at him before he's leaning forward across the rowboat with the intent of meeting your lips with his. The boat rocks suddenly, tipping sideways before you're both spilling out into the water and you're more than disappointed because there's only one day left for your prince to press his lips to yours and make you human, forever.

Niall: Beauty and the Beast

"You don't have to be so mean" you stomp your foot, frustrated and angry at the man in front of you. "You must do as I say, I told you... the east wing is strictly forbidden. Do as you're told" he demands roughly, holding his ground against you in his castle and you huff. "Don't treat me as a child" you snap back, watching as his hideously scared face turns upwards as he chuckles darkly. "Don't act as a child and you won't be treated as one" he tells you, turning on his heal before stalking away. You huff, turning into your room and slam the door before collapsing against the bed in despair. "There, there dearie... the master is just trying to keep hold of some control in his castle" the wardrobe soothes and you chuckle through your tears, turning on your back to look at the canopy over your bed. "He's just being an ass" you correct and the wardrobe chuckles. "Well, that too. Perhaps, a change of clothes will make you feel more at home?" it questions, drawers opening to reveal a few dresses and you sigh. "This will never be home" you tell it, pulling the green dress from its depth anyway and go to the bathroom to change. "I realize, I might have been too harsh earlier" the man, who's acted like the beast that's rumored to live in the dark castle, says later that night while leading you down a hallway. "Might have?" you question, crossing your arms over your chest and he takes a deep breath to stop from snapping. "Yes, might have. This is my castle and I expect you to do as you're told" he snapped and you throw your hands up. "If you intend to keep me here as a prisoner then I intend to explore this dungeon" you say and his jaw tenses. "Fine then, you can stay in the dungeon if that's what you'd prefer" he says darkly, seizing your arm in his strong grip to drag you back towards the dungeon but you hold your ground. "Fine, I won't go to the east wing" you concede, pulling your arm from his grasp and he smiles around his scares. "This is what I wanted to show you" he tells you, standing in front of a pair of double doors and you raise your eyebrows at him. "Just, close your eyes" he asks, looking to make sure you've done as he'd requested before opening the doors and leading you into the room. "Oh Niall... this, this is... more than beautiful" you stammer out in surprise and delight, glancing around at the thousands of books that surround you and he smiles. "Then it's yours" he tells you, gesturing to the shelves cased with books he knows you'll enjoy. "Thank you" you whisper, dashing off to find a book to lose yourself in and Niall turns to leave. "Don't you want to stay?" you question, holding up a book and he shrugs. "This is your part of the castle now, I won't intrude" he says with a pointed glare and you roll your eyes but a smile teases your lips. "Stay, I'll read to you" you tell him, sitting down in one of the large chairs and Niall makes his way towards you. You touch one of his scars that night, for the first time, with soft fingertips and he's more than surprised when you don't retract your hand in disgust at the hideous marks that mar his face but instead, smile softly at him.

Louis: Cinderella

As you ride to the palace in your newly formed carriage you dream about what tonight was going to bring. So much had happened already and you were sure it was only going to get better. You hated being late for such an important occasion but your friends were pulling you faster and faster with ever stride. The carriage slows as you approach the palace entrance. The lights surrounding the walkway were immaculate and you couldn't believe people actually lived like this. Following the red carpet up the stairs and into the corridor you notice a long line of guards to your right. Their job was to intimidate, and they were certainly good at it. At the end of the corridor is a very large staircase, you pick your flowing dress up and make your way to the top. As you head up the stairs you can hear the names of all of the girls in attendance being read out, wondering if you would get to hear your name in that tone. As you take your final step onto the marble floor you notice it is a bit dark. Just dark enough to keep you from seeing where to go. You turn around in every direction looking for the ballroom, but have no such luck. You jump as someone gently touches your hand. "Excuse me," you hear behind you. Your eyes widen as you turn gazing upon a tall, brown haired guy with the most gorgeous set of blue eyes. He's dressed in the nicest clothes you had ever seen and you stand in astonishment at his company. He bows in your presence and you curtsey showing your admiration. He takes your hand, placing his lips against your soft skin before leading you into the ballroom. The Waltz begins to play and the lights fall low as the two of you walk between the crowds of people to the center of the empty dance floor. You had never danced like this before, and you were hoping you wouldn't mess up. He leads you around the dance floor effortlessly, almost making you forget that everyone in the room was starring. You didn't care though, you were dancing in a dream, and it was magical. He continues to lead you through the ballroom and out into the private garden. His eyes are looking dead into yours as you hum along to the music in your head. He slows his lead and removes his grip on your waist, leading you down the stairs and into the garden. You walk hand in hand down the pathway, starring into one another's eyes, silence between the two of you still. You make your way onto an elegant white bridge overtop a large stream. Looking over the edge you see your reflection in the water, with the moonlight showing up above. He holds your hand still, this time with both hands, starring at you as you continue to look at the water. He leans in, inches from your face and you blush. You close your eyes and move in towards him as your lips press to his. You pull back with a smile, and he walks around you, leading you down the other side of the bridge and back onto the pathway. You continue walking until you have made a full circle back to the garden steps. You sit inches away from his face, yet again, knowing a kiss was waiting for you. You lean into him once more, but the loud chime of the clock startles you. "Oh my goodness," you say looking up at the time. "What's the matter?" He wonders. "It's midnight," you answer, getting up from your seat. "So it is but..." "Goodbye," you interrupt him, immediately turning in the opposite direction to head back to the carriage. "No wait, you can't go now," he says jumping up and grabbing your hand. "Please I must." "But why?" "Well I...I...the Prince, I haven't met the Prince," you explain nervously, hoping he wouldn't catch onto your lie. "The Prince?" He questions. "But didn't you know that I...." The clock chimes again. "Goodbye!" You shout turning around and heading up the stairs and back into the palace. He shouts after you but you still continue to run. As you make your way back down the large entryway stairs your small glass slipper falls off. You turn to go back for it but notice the Duke is running after you now as well. With no time to spare you head out of the palace and into your awaiting carriage. Your friends race you off towards home, as the palace security chases after you on their horses. As the clock strikes midnight the spell is broken, and you are returned back to normal. "I'm sorry," you apologize to your friends as you all sit around one another in shambles. "I guess I forgot about everything, even the time but, but it was so wonderful, and he was so handsome. Oh I'm sure even the Prince himself couldn't have been more, more, oh well, it's over..." You friends interrupt you, shouting your name, calling attention to your feet. You look down and notice that you still had the other glass slipper. "Thank you," you say with a smile, holding it closely and looking up to the sky. "Thank you so much, for everything."

Zayn: Aladdin

You had had enough of being cooped up in the palace all of the time and the news of your arranged marriage quickly approaching only upset you more. Today was the day you were going to go out and see what it was like beyond the walls that kept you secluded. After finding the perfect disguise you make your way over to a tree near the palace wall. You begin to climb but immediately feel a tug from behind. "Oh, I'm sorry, Rajah," you begin to the tiger, "but I can't stay here and have my life lived for me. I'll miss you." You begin to climb again, this time with assistance from the tiger and disappear over the wall. You make you way to the marketplace, overwhelmed by its sights and sounds. "Pretty lady, buy a pot?" One shopkeeper asked as you walked by. "Would the lady like a necklace? A pretty necklace for a pretty lady," another one said. You stop at a fruit stand and notice a homeless boy reaching for an apple. You pick it up and hand it to him without a thought. "Here you go," you smile. "You'd better be able to pay for that," the proprietor says firmly. "Pay?" You ask confused. "No one steals from MY cart!" He shouts. "Oh, I'm sorry sir, but I don't have any money." "THIEF!" He exclaims. "Please, if you let me go to the palace, I can get some from the Sultan." "Do you know what the penalty is for stealing?" He asks, taking your hand and raising a large sword in the air. "No, no please!" You shutter. His hand is suddenly stopped however. A lanky guy with jet black quiffed hair stands between you and the sword. " Thank you kind sir. I'm so glad you've found her," he says to the stand owner, before turning to you "I've been looking all over for you." "What are you doing?" You whisper in confusion. "Just play along," he assure you. "You know this girl?" The proprietor asks. "Sadly, yes. She is my sister. She's a little crazy." A confused and insulted look crosses your face at his words. "She said she knew the Sultan!" The proprietor remarks. "She thinks the monkey is the Sultan," the guy explains to him. "Oh, wise Sultan. How may I serve you?" You play along, collapsing to your knees, as the monkey appears before you. "Tragic isn't it? But no harm done," he says handing the man an apple he had secretly taken off of the stand. He turns from the proprietor and walks towards you, "Now come along sis. Time to see the doctor." "Oh, hello doctor," you say to a nearby camel, continuing to play along. "No, no, no. Not that one." He turns around and calls his monkey, "Come on Sultan." The monkey bows and the stolen items he had been hoarding in his small vest fall out. "THIEVES!" The proprietor shouts, raising his sword as the lot of you run away. "Almost there," the guy says, helping you climb up to the top of the roof where you couldn't be found. "I want to thank you for stopping that man," you tell him. "Uh, forget it. So, uh, this is your first time in the marketplace?" You look at him a bit embarrassed. "Is it that obvious?" "Well you kind of stand out," he answers, starring deep into your eyes, then continuing after he realizes that he was starring, "I mean, uh, you don't seem to know how dangerous Agrabah can be." "I'm a fast learner," you explain. The two of you continue to walk further on the rooftops until he stops. "Is this where you live?" You question, looking around at the tattered shack he had obviously build for himself. "Yep. Just me and Abu. It isn't much but is has a great view of the palace," he says pulling back the makeshift curtain to show you your home in the distance. "I wonder what it would be like to live there," he imagines, starring off. "Oh sure. People who tell you where to go and how to dress," you rant. "It's better than here," he explains, "always scraping for food and ducking the guards." "You're not free to make your own choices." You tell him. "Sometimes you feel so...." He begins. "You're just," you interrupt. "trapped." The two of you say in unison. You look into his brown eyes, seeing inside of him, someone kind and gentle. He was amazing and you enjoyed his company, even though you had just met him. You break the gaze to look around at everything he had to offer in his abode, and even though it was so miniscule, he was happy. You wanted a life like that, you wanted to be happy, happy like him, happy with him.
