P.O.V. Ren

I was currently sitting in a small room. Though the term 'room' might have been a bit of an overstatement since it barely had enough room to walk around in. I could feel my stomach turning a bit as I waited. I then heard a door open and watched as a man in a solid white jacket walked out looking at a small screen in his hand.

"Is he-" I began only for the male to cut me off.

"Yeah, he's fine, or at least as fine as he can be," He said as he looked at me. When he said this, I let out a sigh of relief and relaxed a bit. "You can go in and see him if you want, though he is asleep right now so you'll need to wait for him to wake up. You'll also need to be careful when he does eventually come to. While he will be alright, he is still hurt fairly badly," The male said as he looked at me. I nodded hearing this and walked towards the room.

When I did, I walked around slowly and saw that just as I had been told [Name] was indeed asleep. I could see several bandages on him. How could this happen? I know his last mission was a little dangerous, but there's no way a few grimm managed to do this to him. His skill wasn't lacking, and he certainly wasn't careless enough to let his guard down in an area known to inhabit such dangerous creatures.

I could tell his breathing was a little hampered, he wasn't sleeping as deeply or as soundly as he usually did. So he was probably still on edge from whatever happened. I stood by his bed for several minutes before I eventually heard a slight groan. When he did, I could see his eyes twitching before he slowly opened them. When he did, he seemed tense and looked around. When he looked at me, however, he sighed, and his body immediately relaxed.

"Hey Ren," [Name] said as he looked at me. He then looked around the room he was in before returning his gaze to me. "Where am I?" [Name] asked as he looked at me.

"You're in Beacon's medical wing. Seems like your last mission didn't go so well," I said as I looked at him. When I said this, I could see him begin to think before a look of realization passed over his face, and then immediately followed by a look of frustration.

"Ugh, I can't believe I fell for that," [Name] said as he covered part of his face in frustration.

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" I asked as I looked at the male in front of him.

"Well, the mission was almost certainly a setup. I went in expecting a nest of grimm, just place a bomb, and boom, destroy the nest. I should have known something was up because that entire time I didn't see a single grimm. Don't get me wrong the place was definitely abandoned, but I should have seen a few if I was close to a nest, right? Well, eventually I walked into the right area, and I was attacked by some members of the White Fang," [Name] said as he looked at me.

White Fang? That was odd, they usually didn't do things like this. I'm more than aware that some of them can be a bit radicle but setting up a student like this is new even for them. "They must have been fairly high-ranking as well. They fought way better than most of the common grunts do. Honestly, even if I was expecting them instead of just a few grimm I don't think I would have done much better," [Name] admitted as he looked at me.

"That's odd," I said as I looked at him.

"I know, it's not like the Fang to be so careless in their actions. They're usually way smarter than this, and they usually go big. They don't like targeting just one person, they target the mass. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I did something to upset one of them without realizing it. But even then, nothing comes to mind. I can't exactly remember doing anything that would gain their attention, especially not to this extent," [Name] said as he looked at me.

He then looked around for a moment before his gaze once again returned to me. "Where's Nora?" He asked as he looked at me.

"We just found out a bit ago that you were here. She left not too long ago to get some friends and bring them here. I could tell she wanted to stay, but with how active her mind tends to be I thought it'd be better to distract her and send her off on something she can focus on rather than stay here and dwell on the subject," I explained as I looked at him.

"Alright, that makes sense," [Name] said as he sat up a bit and attempted to stretch as he did he stopped for a moment wincing in pain as he did. "Guess they really did a number on me huh?" [Name] said with a slight chuckle as he looked at me. I nodded hearing this and looked at him in silence for a moment before eventually speaking.

"So, what are you going to do now?" I asked as I looked at him. When I said this [Name] looked at me fairly confused. "Are you going to attempt to locate them?" I asked as I looked at him.

"Oh, no. As much as I'd like to get even with them. I don't think that's going to help in this scenario. I go there, I beat them up, and then what? More people will just rally behind them, and I'll have an even bigger target painted on my back than I already do. If this becomes a repeated issue, where I'm just constantly being attacked by them that's a different issue and I'll deal with it if comes to that. But for now, I don't think retaliating is the answer. You know as well as I do that violence only breeds violence," [Name] said as he looked at me.

I sighed a bit hearing this and nodded. I might not have been happy about what happened, and as much as I'd like to track down the people who did this he's right. That wouldn't solve anything in the end. I opened my mouth to speak but when I did the door was suddenly thrown across the room. "[NNNAAAMMMEEE]!" I heard a familiar voice scream out! I guess Nora's returned.

And my suspicion was proven correct a moment later when she jumped in the bed to tackle him causing [Name] to let out a rather pained groan. I couldn't help but chuckle seeing this. "Nora, my ribs!" [Name] cried out as she continued to hug him. Might not be the healthiest option, and I know the doctor isn't going to be happy but having us and others around will certainly have him in high spirits again soon enough.
