Chapter Sixteen: Don't Drink it

Sakura's POV

After what happened this morning, the rest of my day went by smoothly. Sasori was there to aid me with our new plans.

I took in a deep breathe and sighed.

"My queen, you look stressed."

"I know right. No need to point out the obvious, Sasori."

A playful smirk crossed his features as he started inching closer to me. "I can do a message service if you want me to." And without any warning, he kissed my lips and wrapped his arms around my waist.

Closing my eyes, I felt the our heated moment got a little more intense with each second passing by.

I'm intoxicated by this redhead.

But somehow, deep inside me, a small voice is telling me that this...everything, is wrong. That it shouldn't be this way.

SAKURA! He's manipulating you, please! Listen to me! Don't drink the potion he's giving you...

My eyes shot open. I immediately ushed the knight kissing me and told him, "Uhh... I-I'm hungry."

He looked confused for a moment before finally nodded, heading out of my office.

"I'll get you some food. I'll be back, my queen."

When Sasori left, I waited for another ten minutes before I exited my office. My heart is beating wildly in my chest. I don't know what the heck was that, but this is not good. Sasuke's last words.. dammit.

My feet brought me to the castle's main tower. It overlooked almost half of the whole Fire Country. This place is amazing.. I've been here for a year now, but still.. I can't help but be mesmerized whenever I see this view.

"It's beautiful.."

"WAAAAAAH... is anybody there?! Anyone! Anyone? Anyone?! Help meeeeeeee....!"

I jumped in surprise when I heard a faint voice somewhere. My brows furrowed as I searched for the source. Just then, a saw a small treasure chest under a cabinet that made little movements.

I grabbed my keys from my cloak's inner pocket and opened the chest.

There, I saw a Garden gnome.

I arched an eyebrow.

"What the fudge?"

The little creature was frantic! He started running around in circles, saying something. I snatched him from his sleeves and raised him up in mid-air.

"QUEEN SAKURA! THAT SASORI BASTARD IS SCHEMING SOMETHING AGAINST YOU!! HE'S MAKING YOU DRINK SOMETHING TO LOSE YOUR LOVE AND MEMORIES OF KING SASUKE-DUCKY!! WAAAAH! I HEARD EVERYTHING!!"

And that made me froze.

"W-What? You mean... Sasori was the one to lock you up here? And.. he's planning something against me? Huh??"

I'm now more confused than ever! I can't even comprehend anything he said! My mind just won't process the information at hand. The gnome nodded, "Just don't believe anything he says!! Don't drink the pink liquid stuff that smells like a rotten tomato!!"

"Sorry I took so long, here's your food.."

I stared at the plate full of dango. Sasori frowned when he saw my expressionless face. "Is something wrong?" I shook my head and said, "Nothing's wrong, Sasori."

He sighed and fetched something from his pocket..

He handed me the little bottle, "Drink this. Maybe you are in pain.. you're acting weird, Queen Sakura."

Hesitantly, I took it from him and gulped it's content.

I saw him smirk from the corner of my eye before bowing down to take his leave.

After Sasori left, I walked to the restroom here in my office and spit the potion I stored in my mouth. The Garden gnome appeared and smiled sadly at me.

"Good, Queen Sakura.. just don't drink or eat anything they give you! You're forgetting who you are because of that potion. You even forgot King Sasuke!"

I smiled back at him and wiped my mouth with a cloth..

"S-Sasuke.."

The little man winked at me, "He loves you.. so much."

"I know."

Because from what I've read before, Garden Gnomes don't lie.

I closed my eyes and felt my heart beat faster at the thought of the Uchiha.

I need to see him.
