(Zero is seen overlooking Gotham City along with Kamen Rider Ghost and Batman.)

Ghost: Things changed during these five years. No crime, no victims, no pain... (sighs) no option, no freedom...

Zero: To think I'd feel the very pain those I killed felt before...

(Flashback)

(Massimo is seen returning to Abel City after a successful mission, and then suddenly Sigma and his horde of Mavericks come in.)

Sigma: So you're the one Colonel Redips told me about.

Massimo: Sigma?

Sigma: I know what you're thinking, Massimo. Being surrounded by a horde of Mavericks, seeing me face to face... yes. Your time has come indeed, Massimo.

(Sigma then cuts Massimo into pieces.)

Sigma: There's a war in progress. And you're not allowed to interfere.

(The next scene shows Spider-Man with an armor provided by Sigma piercing Spoiler before setting to confront Signas while Sigma backstabs Axl and frames Zero. Then Mega Man X, who became Return IX sees Axl dead and starts attacking Zero.)

Return IX: Zero. What did you do?

Zero: It wasn't me.

Return IX: Liar! I saw Axl dead.

(Then while Spider-Man destroys most of the Maverick Hunters, Return IX keeps attacking Zero, until he decides to shove his Z-Saber away.)

Return IX: You're nothing but a... (charges his buster) MAVERICK!

(Return IX kills Zero.)

(Unbeknownst to the Regime, the Repliforce (who was never destroyed in the alternate universe) manages to rebuild Zero thanks to the chip they got from Doctor Cain. Zero then wakes up and realizes that he's neither at the Maverick Hunters HQ nor in cyberspace.)

Zero: What... I'm supposed to be in cyberspace...

????: Zero.

(Zero sees his longtime love interest.)

Zero: Iris? Is that you?

Iris: Hi, Zero.

(Then the Colonel comes in)

Colonel: Easy there, Zero. You've had a rough one.

Zero: Colonel?

Colonel: Heh heh, in the flesh.

Zero: I was... pulverized...

Colonel: Blasted into pieces, you were. Good thing we found ya.

(Then Zero looks in the mirror and sees his new design: A black and white armor with the Repliforce symbol in his shoulders.)

(Flashback ends.)

Zero: Sigma made a fool of X. And he will pay for this.

Ghost: They all will.

Batman: If you're done talking, I need Zero.

Zero: I was done talking anyway.

Batman: Tommy and Sonic captured Taskmaster, and now they're torturing him at Ferris Aircraft. I need you to rescue him.

Zero: Send me the coordinates, and I'll be there in no time.

Batman: Your personal operator will do it for you.

(At Ferris Aircraft, Zero is seen walking as he talks with Iris.)

Zero: I'm almost there.

Iris: Be careful, Zero. They won't hesitate to tell Spider-Man about your revival once they find out.

Zero: I die hard, Iris.

(At the room, Green Ranger and Sonic are seen torturing Taskmaster.)

Sonic: Pretty tough, aren't you?

Taskmaster: I'm not afraid of you, freaks.

Green Ranger: Yes, you are. I can feel it.

Zero: There they are.

Green Ranger: This is your last chance to accept the amnesty, Taskmaster.

Taskmaster: And get "re-educated"? Become a lapdog? Like you both?

Sonic: Spider-Man is being generous. I wouldn't be. I lost Amy and Sticks in New York five years ago.

Taskmaster: Like I had something to do with this.

Sonic: No matter, because you're still in the wrong side of the law, just like those who banished me from my planet.

Taskmaster: Tell this to your boss...

(Taskmaster then spits at Sonic's face.)

Sonic: Ew.

(Zero enjoys the opportunity and shoots him down.)

Green Ranger: Sonic.

(Green Ranger turns to see Zero, and gets shocked)

Green Ranger: Zero? That's impossible.

Zero: If it wasn't for that chip Doctor Cain had, I would definitely be dead.

Green Ranger: Believe me, Zero. You will this time.

(Green Ranger decides to use the same tactic by binding Zero using his Ranger powers.l, but knew this was coming so he manages to use his Z-Buster to knock him back. This catches Tommy off guard as Zero knocks him out cold before he counters his attacks.)

Zero: Guess I won't be getting any more lip from him...

(Sonic then gets up, and gets shocked by seeing Zero.)

Sonic: Zero? You?

Zero: It's been a long time, Sonic.

Sonic: I wish it was forever.

(Sonic attacks with his spindash, but Zero stops him using only one of his hands, and then he slams him down.)

Zero: From a great hero to a second-rate brute...

Sonic: I'll show you second-rate.

(Sonic tries to attack Zero again, but the former Maverick Hunter counters again.)

Zero: No wonder they banished you from Mobius.

Sonic: You're in a big trouble, Zero. Prepare to have your head knocked sideways.

(Sonic tries to bring him down but Zero manages to avoid it and shield himself. Sonic tries various methods to take him down but he assumes him wrong as he realizes Zero got stronger than ever as the now member of the Repliforce manages to knock him out unconscious.)

Zero: Head's still on straight, rodent.

(Zero then saves Taskmaster)

Zero: Iris, I have Taskmaster. What now?

Iris: Bring him to the Insurgency Base, and then go to Gotham. Sigma is attacking various innocent people.

Zero: On my way.

(In Gotham, Batwoman is seen throwing batarangs at Sigma, who blocks them with his sword, and then knocks her down with a shot before approaching her.)

Sigma: I'll be happy to see another human die.

(Suddenly someone cuts his arm off.)

Sigma: Aaarrrrgh.

(Sigma then sees the culprit, who's none other than Zero.)

Sigma: Zero?

(Zero knocks Sigma out with a punch in his face.)

Zero: This is for turning my friend into a Maverick, Sigma. (turns to Batwoman) Are you alright?

Batwoman: Zero?

Zero: I know I should be dead.

(Then he turns to Sigma, who just got up.)

Zero: I was supposed to die, Sigma. But now you will.

(Sigma battles out with Zero as the Repliforce soldier learns about X mending his relationship with his former commander without realizing Sigma's evilduring their confrontation. But Zero wasn't aware that Sigma has called for help before he arrives. However Zero wasn't afraid of Sigma and manages to defeat the maverick, knocking him down.)

Zero: I'm resisting arrest... again.

(Then Return IX comes in and sees Zero.)

Return IX: Zero?

Zero: Hey there, X.

Return IX: Did you use your virus to transfer into another body?

Zero: As much as I could, I didn't. Doctor Cain had a reserve chip which could revive me. Now I'm a member of the Repliforce.

Return IX: Don't you realize you made a bargain with the devil?

Zero: You did the same once you joined Sigma.

Return IX: I had no choice, Zero. I needed to save Alia.

Zero: Everyone has a choice. The Repliforce had when they rebuilt me. And now I'll fight you for them.

(As both Zero and X (who became IX) go head to head with each other again, Zero was still unamused that his best friend joins the mavericks. Thanks to the upgrades provided by the Repliforce, Zero manages to defeat his friend.)

Zero: Well... that was surreal, even for me.

Iris: And rather disturbing, I must say.

Colonel: Except for Storm Owl, all of the green is really tough in the eyes.

(Then the sirens are heard, and Zero carries Batwoman.)

Zero: Tell Batman I'm returning to the base.

Iris: Understood.

Zero: I'm breaking contact... for now.

(Zero teleports off with Batwoman.)

(Meanwhile two portals open. One reveals Kamen Rider OOO and Suzune, and the other reveals Zander Cross along with Milliana.)
