1. Aniya.
I am currently seated in my room, gazing at my green colored shirt. I ponder, should I wear this today or opt for something different? Frustrated by the limited choices, I must adhere to my mother's superstitious beliefs. With a decisive move, I opt for my new dark green shirt paired with black pants.
As I admire my outfit, my mother gracefully enters the room, her eyes filled with adoration and care as she gazes at me.
"Aw, my son looks incredibly handsome," she sweetly comments.
Gratefully, I respond with a smile and express my urgency, "Thank you, mom. I must head out for my meeting now."
With her understanding nod, I tenderly plant a kiss on her forehead before grabbing my car keys and wallet. Exiting the mansion through the door, I settle into my sleek black Mercedes and commence my journey.
My car comes to a stop in the parking lot of the kindergarten. How delightful it is to attend the kindergarten's annual day celebration. The whole place is adorned with colorful balloons, and the air is filled with the cheerful chatter and whispers of the attendees, as well as the laughter and giggles of the children resonating throughout the buildings.
"We are pleased to have you here, Mr. Jeon," warmly greeted the middle-aged woman, Mrs. Adam. I returned her humble greeting with a warm smile, expressing how honored I felt to witness the growth of our future generations.
"Mr. Jeon, please take a seat," she gestured graciously. I nodded appreciatively, taking my place in the seat reserved for the chief guest. My eyes wandered, marveling at the children dressed in an array of sharp, dark, and light-colored outfits, creating a vibrant visual display akin to a rainbow on the ground.
The soft background music harmonized perfectly with the pure melodies of the children's laughter and whispers. It is undeniable that every element here seems to have blossomed simultaneously, much like every flower in a garden blooming at once. The children are the petals of this metaphorical garden, their laughter akin to the sweet fragrance that fills the air and transforms the place into a magnificent garden of joy and innocence.
"I am delighted to announce our next participant, the little princess of our kindergarten, Aniya," the anchor said with a cheerful tone. My eyes were immediately drawn to the stage out of sheer curiosity to catch a glimpse of the girl who had garnered so much attention in the kindergarten.
Aniya, a petite girl of about 3 years old, was dressed in a delicate baby pink princess gown that accentuated her innocence and charm. Her lips formed a sweet, enchanting smile, with her precious facial features resembling that of a young fairy. I remained seated, completely captivated by this young princess.
Following behind Aniya were her group partners, gracefully performing a small ramp walk. Their performance elicited hoots, cheers, and shouts of excitement that reverberated throughout the buildings.
As the last performance wrapped up, everyone began to indulge in snacks in one corner, while children played happily in another. Meanwhile, I sat contentedly in my seat, scrolling through my phone.
Next, Mrs. Adam made an announcement, "Mr. Jeon Jungkook, a prosperous and respected businessman from France, to distribute gifts among the children," With a smile, I stood up and made my way towards the stage, eager to partake in the joyous occasion.
"I am truly honored for this opportunity, and I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Adam," I said with a smile, feeling my eyes squint into crescent moons from the gentle joy. My guards brought forth the bags filled with gifts and stood proudly by my side, causing the children to cease their playful activities as they caught sight of me.
As I distributed the presents, my gaze landed on a girl clad in a matching baby pink gown. She was engrossed in chasing a butterfly, radiating innocence in her playful pursuit, appearing disinterested in the offerings before her.
"Boss, it's time to head back home," my loyal butler, Alain Bardin, spoke with a humble tone, displaying genuine concern for my well-being.
"Wait just a moment, Alain," I responded, picking up the final gift from the bag. I made my way towards the girl with a gentle stride, so as not to startle her with my sudden presence and disrupt her joyful exploration.
"Hey, kiddo!" I called out cheerfully, prompting her doe-like eyes to shift from the butterfly to me. Her gaze held a curiosity that tugged at my heart. "Here, don't you want a gift?"
She shook her head, but her eyes remained fixed on the present in my outstretched hand. I knelt down to meet her at eye level, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Why not? Look at what your friends have received."
"Mumma always emphasized the importance of not accepting gifts from strangers," her voice carried an air of innocence. This was the first time I had the pleasure of hearing her speak. I was already impressed by her graceful walk on the ramp, and now her voice added to her charm.
"Hey, I'm not a stranger, I'm Jungkook. What's your name?" I asked playfully, with a slight pout. She blinked a few times and softly replied, "Aniya."
Her response was sweet, modest, and gentle. Her voice was akin to a melodious tune, a song that delighted my ears. I couldn't resist pinching her cheeks as I reassured her, "Now that we've met, we are no longer strangers. Plus, I happen to be the chief guest, so your Mrs. Adam is familiar with me."
"Does she know you?" she inquired, her gaze still fixated on the present wrapped in a sparkling pink paper. I nodded in affirmation as her small hand eagerly grasped the gift. Peering closely at the box, she innocently questioned, "Is this all for me?"
"Yes, Aniya!" I confirmed, gently pinching her cheeks. A bright smile adorned her face as she cheerfully expressed her gratitude, "Thanks, uncle!"
"It seems Aniya has found a new friend," Mrs. Adam whispered from behind me. I turned to see Mrs. Adam standing there with a smile on her face, confirming the warmth in the room.
"Yes," Aniya nodded.
"Aniya," Mrs. Adam gently called, "Let's join your waiting mother." With a bittersweet smile, Aniya bid me farewell, affectionately, "Bye, Uncle!"
"Bye, Little one!" I smiled and waved goodbye as she left in the company of Mrs. Adam, perhaps heading to the waiting room. Truly, Aniya's innocence and charm left an impression on me.
Alain's disapproval, "Are you ready to head back!" he questioned. It was clear that he was not fond of children, especially when I wandered without my usual security detail.
"Yes, Alain," I replied. Taking my seat in the car, I started the engine while Alain settled in the passenger seat, holding my tablet. "Boss, your schedule for tomorrow is all set."
