≈Malakai and Aurelia.

This will entirely be presented in 3rd person, with barely or no talking at all. Mother refers to Malakai throughout this.

Malakai tip-toed her way to a seemingly abandoned house, she knew this was dangerous, she knew it was war, she was in the war itself after all, but she had to make sure Aurelia was safe. She looked behind her one last time, before sprinting in the house, and ducking, to make sure not to attract or be seen by any unwanted presence. She crawled over to little Aura, who was sleeping on the ground, with a blanket around her. She sat down beside her, and took out some food, likely cuz the both of them haven't had food in days, due to a shortage caused by the war. She decided not to wake Aura from her sleep, and instead write a note and leave it with the food beside her.

She quickly pulled a pen out of the nearby drawers, got some paper, and started writing a little note, telling Aura about the food and who it was from, and other things regarding the little girl. She then kept the note, along with the food, beside her, and then crawled over to the exit, and sprinted out at any moment she got. As much as she wanted to hug Aura and tell her everything will be fine, and stay with her till It all ends, she cant. War was at her hands, and she couldn't risk being absent for too long. She looked back once more, and managed to let a little smile come onto her face for a moment or two, before holding her hair and putting on her helmet, and heading off to the fight.

~Roughly an hour or so later~

Aurelia slowly woke up, groaning. The cold floor was so hard to sleep on, but she had no choice. She put her fingers through her short hair, that she despised. It reminded her of them, the ones that never accepted her, the ones that neglected her. The ones that were dead. Her eyes widened, remembering that she was in war, and this was no time for her to sulk over her dead family. She put her hand back on the floor, only to feel something. She looked at where her hand was, and saw food, Along with a note. She smiled, in a lot happier of a mood than before because she knew who this was from. She quickly grabbed the note, and skimmed through it, Sighing. Now that she knew her 'mother' was safe, she could spend today a bit more worry-free. She put the note down, and criss-crossed her legs, grabbing the food. Oh how hungry she was! She ate the food as if she hadn't eaten in ears, scarfing it all down. When she was done, she got up, and put the plate on top of the drawer, and walked over to the cracked mirror on the side of the wall, and did her hair as best as she could, well, by that I mean simply combed it and let it be wild.

Her smile faltered and eventually left her face, as she looked in the mirror long enough. Her heart dropped knowing that maybe her mother wouldn't make it out of this.. but she had faith in her! She knew she would! ..right? She sat down on the cold floor, listening to the birds, and also being deep in thought. She was deciding whether or not she should go visit her mom in war. She knew this wasn't the best decision, but she couldn't help it, she was indeed hopeless at this point and only wanted to see Malakai. That was the one thing she wanted out of everything. She wished this war never happened in the first place, but then again, EVERYONE does, but it doesn't just magically stop does it..

After a few minutes of deep thinking and questioning, she decided she wouldn't. It was simply too dangerous, she would simply wait. Thats all she would do. Sit and wait. In fact, that's what Malakai would want her to do.. right? Yeah yeah, of course she would! I mean she told her herself that she needed to stay inside, hidden from everyone and everyTHING. She nodded, for no reason, and then went to the window, to simply stand and stare at the outside, for there was not much else to do in this house, since there were no books, and the only books that were there were completely not her taste. So lose-lose situation for her. She just about wanted to burst out the door and say 'MA COME BACK!' but she had common sense not to do that, she opened the curtains on the window very slightly, and then peeked out, staring at the trees and the empty grounds outside. She simply closed her eyes, and hummed a song, to keep herself occupied for the time being.

~A Few lonely, tiring days later~

Malakai was running, no, tripping, actually, doing BOTH on her way to the little house, the war was almost over, seeing that her side was full of un-trained, un-prepared idio- I mean people who were losing, very fast. She had only one choice now: Escape. So she was going to get Aurelia, and make her way to one of the friendly neighbouring towns, and then make her way to a bigger city or so. She was soon stopped on her tracks as she spotted a few of those filthy invaders on her path, so she had to sneak, and that she did, and miserably failed. So she was now running with two of the invader's army men on her tail. Oh how she only wished to get to her dear Aura. She then took a sharp turn into the woods, climbing up a tall random tree as fast as she can, watching as the two idiotic army-men chasing after her had no clue where she went. She was relieved to say the least, but she didn't have time. She climbed down and started sprinting as fast as he can to the house. She had to do this before the invaders army discovered this area, which was on the pretty outskirts of the city, but was still part of it. She then finally reached the house after about two hours of running, taking only the smallest breaks.

She burst through the door, earning a terrified shriek from poor Aurelia, who was previously sitting on the floor, humming.

{This is where I finally insert some talking lol.}

"AURELIA! GET UP! WE HAVE TO GO! WE HAVE NO TIME, THE ENEMY'S ARMY IS ON OUR TAILS!" Malakai yelled. Aurelia seemed utterly terrified, and got up and ran towards Malakai, letting some tears escape her eyes. She knew this was bound to happen, Malakai had told her. But the last hope she had left was now shattered, and they were being forced to leave behind everything they know and loved. "W-where do we go? what are we supposed to *sniff* d-do?" Malakai tensed even more at the sight of her dear Aura crying. "Don't worry! We'll make it, we only have to get to the neighbouring town! Lots of people are escaping to there, we'll decide where to go from there okay? I Promise you, everything will be fine." She said, as she crouched down and wiped the tears off Aura's face with her thumb. "Now come on, take whatever you need, and lets go. We have no time to waste got it?" She said with a stern voice. Aura nodded, and got her stuffed bunny that her brother had made for her, before the incident. It was her only memory of him. She Turned to Malakai, and nodded, basically saying she was ready. Malakai meanwhile, was packing all the food and water they needed for the journey in a simple cloth bag, that one of the kind old ladies had made for her. She then swung it onto her shoulders, and held out her hand to Aura. "Come on.. lets go." Aura nodded, and held her hand as they walked off.

~Another holy time skip~ (please excuse my laziness In this chapter.)

It was about 5 hours since they'd left, the two were exhausted yet again, but they had to keep going, the town they were going to was only an hour away at this point. "Ma.. I'm exhausted, can't we rest for a little while again..? please!" Aurelia said, looking at her guardian with a tired look on her face. Malakai looked back at her, with a pitiful look on her face. She stopped, Aurelia stopping just a moment after. Malakai sighed, and then said with a smile on her face "Sure, I'm just as exhausted as you are.. you deserve a break." Aurelia smiled back, and then pointed to a shady tree nearby. "Why don't we rest there? It seems comfortable enough, we can have some snacks and be on our way after a good 20 minutes then." Malakai nodded. Seemed good enough. They both went and sat under the nice shade of the tree for a good 5 minutes.. welcome until Aurelia spotted two people, in suspicious armour coming this way. She shook Malakai, and jumped up, Malakai getting up with her. "We need to go.. Theres two people with the armour you described earlier again." she stated. Malakai simply slung the bag on her shoulder again, and simply said "Yep." and pulled Aurelia with her, as she started walking away at a pretty fast pace. They ended up running instead, but either way, they got behind a conveniently wide tree placed randomly on the side of the path they were travelling on. Neither of them noticed this suspicious baby-blue portal-thing opening up right behind them, without a single noise.

Unsuspectingly, Malakai backed up, and fell through the portal, letting out a high-pitched shriek. Aura, who was now even more terrified than ever, decided to jump in this portal thing as well, cuz if her mom was dying, she was too. She jumped into the portal without a second thought, her only last words on the human world being "SEE YOU SUCKERS!" The portal closed soon after, as to not allow anyone else to enter.

~On the other side of this portal, when Aura gained consciousness after the fall.

Aura soon woke up, on the ground.. why was she on the ground of all places right now? was she dead? what was happening? There was a group of eyes, no, people around them. If I was to be precise, it was someone that looked fashionable, and had a pink tail, someone with a flower thing around them, wonder what that was, and someone below her, namely Malakai. She sat up, scooted off of Malakai and stared at this group of mysterious people, And then at her surroundings, realising that people were.. flying, and using magic. Aura was so confused.

"Heya human! Welcome to the magical place called.. well I forgot, but its STILL MAGICAL!" The green one said. "EVEREST SHUT UP THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE'VE EVER HAD A HUMAN HERE? THEY'RE PROBABLY SO CONFUSED! OH YOU POOR SOUL!" The fashionable one said, then proceeding to inspect Aurelia. Aura, not being able to handle this mess, only fainted.
