Part 2 of 2
Yes, yes. Part 2 of 2. Yes. Makes a lot of sense. And I realized that if anyone who read this outside of the Discord server (which I doubt anyone would) they would be really confused. (If you know what Discord server I'm talking about, you know.)

Species: Human-phoenix-tiger tribrid. And part Watcher
Location: An Ancient City
I can't describe how horrible it was to see your friend/partner being murdered by a murderous Warden, and not being able to do anything about it but watch.
Watching. How I hated that concept.
My mind was in a state of shock. I felt numb, and I was pretty sure I blanked out. When my brain managed to at least partly sort everything out, I saw that there was no Warden, and I felt normal again.
What...
I stumbled upright, and nearly collapsed again. Okay, maybe not completely normal. My legs were sore, and my head pounded. Black closed in on my vision for a second, and I stood there, stock-still. When it returned, I looked around.
No Warden in sight. No Zarxulbli. No nothing. Not even bats were in the City.
I had all my memories. I remembered the Warden swinging at Zar, killing him, and then blacking out.
Unless those were fake.
But I was sure those were real...I thought. But if they were real, where did the Warden go?
I was afraid to call out. Zar was probably dead anyways, but then—where was his body? Permanent deaths leave the body of the victim behind, but Zar's body was nowhere in sight.
I didn't like to go on with nothing but luck, but it wasn't like I had any choice. As I took a step though, I remembered why we came to the Ancient City in the first place.
The Star. It was our goal, something that might make the Watchers vulnerable. At least, more vulnerable. I decided that if Zar died, at least he wouldn't have died for nothing.
But he didn't die, I kept thinking. Unless death isn't permanent...but then...why did Amanda die?
It didn't make sense whatsoever. Still, I had no choice but to go after the Star—I couldn't let the resistance down.
I snuck through the City, wincing with every step, thinking that the shrieker would go off. But they didn't.
Why did it set off the last time then? We didn't set it off, I'm sure of that!
I gritted my teeth, and continued on.
It was going along well. I was seriously amazed at how big the City was. When I was nearing the center, after thirty minutes of painstakingly slow walking, with the portal frame, I ran into a problem.
I could see the Star. It was so close. I was about to screw the stealth and run when two Watchers showed up.
Welp, frick.
"I knew you'd come."
One, the taller one, spoke. Their voice was raspy, as if they didn't use it much. They held a long black sword in their hands.
The shorter Watcher growled at them, turning to face them. "No you didn't, you idiot. You said maybe the Warden went rogue, and killed her as well. You said she was never coming, and that this was just all a waste of time. You said—"
"Shut up, Jiak!" Mx. Tall snapped in annoyance. "I did not say all that!"
"You certainly did!" Jiak protested. "I heard you, and probably everyone without two thousand blocks of here did too, with your loud complaints."
"Will you ever stop yapping and using logical stuff? We can use magic, and it breaks logic!"
"If we use magic, then it is a part of logistics," Jiak pointed out.
"That doesn't make any sense!"
"Yes it does!"
"No, it doesn't!"
"Yes!"
"NO!"
"YES— Wait, where did she go?"
I had disappeared. I almost laughed that my father chose people who were so easily distracted as guards to fight me off. I had snuck around the bickering Watchers, hiding in the shadows of the platform that held the portal frame thing.
I looked back at the Star. So close yet so far.
The platform had been redesigned in a way that made it so there was no easy way to get to it without flying, or building up to it. Fortunately for me, I had leftover wool blocks from before. Unfortunately, the Watchers were standing literally three blocks away, which would make it hard to build up without them hearing while they weren't arguing.
I had wings, but wings were also no use when you want to be stealthy with two people three blocks away.
Then I thought of the resistance, Zar, Amanda, and everyone else we lost. It was this or nothing. What's life without risk, am I right?
I spread my blue wings, and decided there was no time to calm down, and jumped up, using my wings, boosting me into the air. I held my hand out, reaching for the edge of the platform.
My heart pounded in my ears, and I hardly dared to breathe. If I got on the platform, I had a clear shot to the Star.
My fingertips brushed the edge of the deepslate bricks, and I felt a rush of triumph as I pulled myself onto the platform. I looked up, and sprinted towards the Star.
It was so close. I thought I could reach it. I reached out a hand and...
...a ball of energy blasted me backwards. I caught myself in midair, just before I hit the ground.
I looked up just in time to witness the taller Watcher lunging at me. Their sword slashing through the air.
I yelped.
Having a menacing-looking figure suddenly attacking you with a sword and knowing that they probably had hundreds of years of experience more than you could have that effect on a person.
I let myself drop the short way down onto the ground, and heard a whizz as the sword sliced the air above me. I had a brief moment of panic when my mind went blank and I forgot about all the training I had. Then I saw the sword come down at me again from above, and out of instinct, I blocked the strike with my spear.
Ice met metal. A chime echoed through the ruins.
"Found her!"
"Well, then, knock her out!"
Flipping biscuits.
Before the Watcher could do anything, all those months of training reappeared, and I swept their legs from under them, and rolled out of the way of their sword falling.
"WHOA!"
I stood up again, and took a running leap for the platform, only to be barreled into by the other Watcher. Jiak, if I remember right.
We crashed into the ground, rolling, wrestling for a bit before we crashed into a section of a tumbled down wall. They reacted first, kicking me away and getting back up on their feet.
I growled, planting my hands on the ground and attempted to kick Jiak.
Jiak dodged, summoned a purple spear, and was about to hit me in the head with the flat part of the blade when I blasted ice at it. The blast sent it crashing into the wall and stuck to the deepslate.
"Hey, that worked," I said, completely out of instinct.
I snapped into seriousness again when I noticed something coming at me at fast speeds. I barely managed to roll out of the way when two throwing knives spouted from the deepslate tiles.
I rolled away, and managed to stand back on my feet again, before a half frozen spear came flying at me and had to duck.
"Wow. You'd think I would get a single second of peace but no."
I retaliated by throwing my own ice spear at the taller Watcher, who had thrown the knives, and grabbed the other spear that was stuck on the wall behind me.
It was heavy, but it'll have to do. I didn't have time to make another one.
I sidestepped Mx. Tall's knives one by one again, and nearly got my head chopped off when they appeared, and swung their sword at me.
I leaned back to avoid the swipe, then spun the "borrowed" spear that I wouldn't give back at them. They jumped backwards and their wings beated, boosting them upwards to avoid the spinning spear.
I finally stopped and planted the blade of the spear firmly into the deepslate bricks at an angle. I took a short running leap, using the spear as a sort of stepping stone, and managed to kick Mx. Tall in the solar plexus.
The Watcher was blasted out of the air, the wind knocked out of them, and they fell into unconsciousness as they crashed into the ruins of a section of a wall.
I landed, grabbing the spear shaft, but had to lean to one side almost immediately as Jiak tried to spear me with a giant fork— I mean, a trident.
I stepped behind the spear in the ground, so it was in-between me and the Watcher.
Jiak once again tried to hit me with the fork, and I pulled the spear out of the ground and blocked the blow just in time.
Then, I punched him squarely in the nose with my free hand.
"Tell my father that's for him!"
Then I used two fingers, and jabbed Jiak sharply in a specific spot below the jaw on the neck. I thought I'd missed the spot, since Jiak was wearing a hood like all Watchers, but I'd trained with Temple to do it even through a hood, and, surprisingly, it worked. Jiak slackened drastically, and collapsed in a heap, unconscious.
I exhaled, but I didn't dare relax. Yet, despite my mind screaming at me to make a run for it, my body kept a slow and steady pace. The spear in my hand, I flew up to the platform.
I saw the Star, the glowing purple relic, floating on a pedestal. I knew I'd succeeded this time, but I didn't find any triumph. Zar was dead.
I shook my head. No, not dead. There wasn't a body!
But if he wasn't dead, where was he now?
I reached out a trembling hand, the power radiating from the Star was immense, and it called to me. Strangely, I was hesitant in taking it. It didn't feel right. We had won, that was a fact. But it didn't feel like a win.
It felt like a loss.
When I was back up on the surface, it was day. Zar and I had left the surface at dusk, and now it was noon. It felt so much longer, yet somehow so much shorter at the same time.
When I flew back to the resistance's base, everyone who saw me crowded around me, cheering. Then they realized that...something was missing.
By then, tears were rolling down my cheeks, for no reason. Zar had to be alive, either he respawned or he had survived, but I hadn't found him. I had searched the entire City, and there was no trace of the mischievous human.
He was gone.
I fell to the ground on all fours, and let the tears roll.

An angsty one more like.
...too bad!

P.S. I suck at angst. And fighting scenes.
