Sexuality: She isn't quite sure- as long as they like her, she'll like them. So, basically pansexual?

Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: No tattoos or piercings, but plenty of scars. Her arms, her legs, her knees. It isn't too noticeable most of the time, but they are definitely there and staying there.

Personality: Ruth is... weird.
I mean, like, she's respectful and kind of quiet. She's sweet and doesn't want to cause problems for anyone. She likes animals and young kids. That's all anyone has ever expected from her and that's what she gave. She has always been that, other things just came up too.
Unfortunately, when everyone left her country and she was forced into isolation with her family, things began to change.
She mutters a lot, to herself and to others. She doesn't really stop talking to herself until she's in an extremely occupied public place. She'll talk to herself about anything and everything. She'll narrate her life, talk about her favorite books, talk about her childhood, talk about memories she thinks she remembers but can't tell if she actually experienced them or if they were a story she read. She's extremely superstitious, avoiding some things because she's scared of them but seeking out others because they're lucky. She believes basically all of them. She's scared of ghosts and supernatural beings, especially banshees and poltergeists. And even though they scare her, she'll read stories and books about them just for fun. She doesn't exactly know what to say in conversations, her family was never the most normal or friendly, so she wasn't "socialized" well. She can be blunt, sarcastic, rude, and just flat-out weird when she talks to people. It'll be especially bad if they remind her of her family cause then she'll be super odd. Her mind wanders far and wide, sometimes causing her to stop talking mid-sentence and just stare off into nothingness. She isn't used to being around people so it makes her quite uncomfortable most of the time. The most she can handle is maybe around 15 people and that's a stretch.
All of this combined makes her very interesting and someone most people would avoid. Because she had lived her life so alone and so isolated, anyone who is kind to her or seems to vaguely like her she just... adores. Literally anyone. It isn't good. Just-- someone love her please.

Likes: Ruth has always liked animals and young children. Animals have always been there for her, even after everyone else left. She likes sweets, the outdoors, people she knows well, pretty things in general, ducks.

Dislikes: People abandoning her, superstitions being ignored, black cats, ladders, people who dislike her or things she likes, the dark.

Strengths: She's uhhh... creative? She's pretty intelligent all things considered, she's read a lot of random books. She's quite well-mannered, respectful, good with kids, independent, and willing to take care of herself.

Weaknesses: She isn't good with crowds, social situations, anything that is vaguely related to superstitions, or being normal. She's weird and freaky and abnormal. She's pretty used to getting her way too, so...

Fears: She has so many... Ruth is scared of the dark, of black cats, of broken mirrors, of ladders, of the number 13, of three pieces of bad news or events. She is scared of someone she cares about abandoning her, of someone stealing her away in the night, of ghosts and poltergeists.

Hobbies/Skills: She's a very good reader, has pretty good memorization skills, can deal with young kids for so long, is good with animals.

Family: Queen Mary Rosalind Sparagana (mother), King Arthur Fabian Peregrine Smith Sparagana (father, deceased), Prince Valentine Leo Arthur Sparagana (older brother), Princess Maren Vesper Mary Sparagana (younger sister)

Backstory: Ruth's family has ruled over Mary for generations. Her mother and father came to power when she was three, and their rule was quite good until she was five. The royals of Mary experienced three losses in the span of three weeks, first was her grandfather and then her grandmother and father in the same night. The losses sent the kingdom spiraling into a place that they wouldn't return from. Ruth's mother fell into a depression, the country began to fall into ruin because of a rampage of disease, and then the entire population (except for the royals and a few servants) disappeared. The lives of the royal children would never be the same after that. Their mother was strangely quiet except at night when she would scream, cry, and then have to be held down while they sedated her with stronger and stronger sedatives and tranquilizers. Her brother snuck out and fought monsters and creatures that ventured into the lands close to the castle, causing him to get distant and oddly aggressive. Her sister started acting out more and more, tantrums and stubbornness that went even more sour as time went on. The small staff that hadn't left began to show up with injuries that hadn't been there when Ruth had last seen them- and though they never said it, she knew it was her sister. She was left alone for the most part, only really being checked in by a few servants who had cared for her before the crash of the kingdom.

Thoughts on the Selection: She's scared but also excited. Getting out of Mary for the first time since she was four? It might be the second biggest thing that has ever happened to her!

Hopes for the Selection: She hopes she finds something new and interesting. She also hopes that she'll meet new friends or find a lover. She isn't quite sure she wants to be queen of Evangeline but she isn't against the idea at all.

Favorite/Least Favorite Thing About Her Home Kingdom: Ruth's favorite thing has probably got to be the scenery and relative chilliness of the place. Her least favorite thing might be her family or what happened to her kingdom.

How Has Living in Her Kingdom Affected Her?: Oh goodness, it's affected her whole life. If she had lived anywhere else, she might have grown up to be the most eligible bachelorette of her generation or maybe the best scholar out there. She could have had the whole world given to her on a platter, had loving parents and siblings, been normal. If Mary hadn't gone to ruin, she could have been just... perfect.

Guilty Pleasure: She really, really, really likes feeling lucky. And feeling loved.

Desired Room: Mix these two rooms together and that's basically what she'll want. It reminds her of what princesses in history and her stories would have.

Royal You Plan to Go After: All of them, but mostly after the eldest prince since he's next in line or whatever.

Naughty or Nice: I'm not sure Ruth could be truly mean to anyone, so nice. Nice all the way.

Other: She had a dog named Lorie, a white horse named Josephine, two kittens named Finch and Sparrow, and a hedgehog named Dickens when she was younger. Ruth kept Finch and Sparrow's kittens for years, and then their children's kittens, and so on and so forth. She also has a very odd sleeping schedule which is worsened by the fact that she can't sleep very well anyway.
