Chapter 62

We all stood in a line.

Alex stood in front of us with his suitcase.

He went down the line, giving everyone a hug.

I was last.

When he got to me, he stood solidly, looking me up an down with an undetectable look in his eye.

He exhaled, setting down his bag and engulfing me in his arms.

He buried his face in my neck and I held him as tightly as I could.

"I'm gonna miss you so much." He mumbled into my neck.

"I'm going to miss you, too." I replied.

When he finally parted from me, he touched my cheek and then turned assay, grabbing his bags and placing them in the trunk of the car.

Then, with a salute, and a smile to everyone, he was driven off.

I watched his car until it was completely out of my sight.

I wondered if he looked behind him or looked in the mirror and did the same.

I had to remind my self that this was him getting help.

This was him getting better.

I was happy about it.

Soon, an arm was thrown over my shoulder.

"You hungry? We're thinking pizza." Nick offers.

"Sounds good." I smile up at him.

He squeezes me close to him for a second before ruffling my hair and walking with the group.

"Come on, Pip!" He calls back.

I smile and follow the boys along.

I really was starved.

~~~
"Twitter?" Nick asked, in disbelief.
"Yes! Twitter! Look, I've already made one! So has Jamie! And the girls! We can make a band account! One for all the monkeys!" Matt exclaimed, mouth full of pizza.
"Swallow, then talk." Jamie said, shoving him.
"Yes, daddy."
Jamie choked and spit out his pizza.
He shoved Matt and Matt laughed hysterically.
We all laughed at the two.
"Well, I suppose twitter doesn't sound that bad. It could be good advertisement for the band." Nick said.
"What do you think?" He asked me.
"I kind of like the sound of it. It could also be fun because then you can see the fans that you've accumulated!" I exclaimed.
"See, she's a genius!" Matt said.
I winked at him and he smiled, taking a big bite of his pizza.
"So, should we make yours today?" Jamie asked.
"Do I get one, too?" I ask.
"Of course! You're the bands closest friend!" Matt said.
Somehow him calling me the bands closest friend made me a little uneasy.
Not because I didn't like it, I loved being close to all the boys it was just...
Was that all I was?
Most kids my age were getting jobs or going to university, and it wasn't like I minded Touring around with the boys, but, at what point does it start feeling like I need a job?
Maybe they could hire me to be an assistant.
An official one?
One that's paid. That might be nice.
"Well, whose flat do you want to go to after this?" He asked them.
"Should we do yours or mine? I think Jane is round mine with Christine " Jamie suggested.
"Why not mine?" Matt whined.
"Because yours is a right mess!" Nick exclaimed.
"Its not a mess! Its... Its homey!" He defended.
"Right? Its like home away from home!" He said, motioning to me.
I nodded, raising my eyebrows.
"See! Sarah agrees!"
"Oh god don't encourage him!" Nick exclaimed.
I raised my hands in defense and then took a bite of my pizza.
"I've not done anything." I said.
"Rude!" Matt exclaimed.
~~~

In the end, we decided to head off to Jamie's flat, since the girls were already there and I wouldn't mind seeing them right about now I suppose.

Nick was making his first, with Matt and Jamie breathing down his neck.

It was kind of funny to watch, if I was honest.

I was drinking tea with Jane and Christine on their couch, and we had Monty Python playing on the television.

It was the Holy Grail movie.

I loved this one!

I had it on DVD back in my parents house.

My parents house.

I'd go back to living in my parents house while Alex was away.

It didn't and wouldn't feel right staying in his house.

It was weird to think of how much had changed in the last few years.

But, before I know it, Nick was in the living room, staring at his phone.

"I can't believe it, I've got 50 followers already!" He said.

I smiled at him.

"Come on, Sarah! Your turn!" Matt said, pulling me off the couch and over to the computer.

This was going to be a long process.

~~~
After successfully making a Twitter, I had gained about thirty followers.
I gained even more as the boys mentioned my twitter in a few of their tweets.
It was interesting to see all these people that I didn't know and a few that I did know, follow me!
Then, a notification came that caught my eye.
@ Lukestruts is now following you.
I clicked on it only to find that it was indeed Luke Spiller! I was super excited to see his handle!
I clicked on the tweet button and added his handle to it.
' @ Lukestruts is Freddie Mercury in disguise x ' And I hit send.
It was so cool to see it pop up in my feed, and it was even better when I saw that he'd responded.
' @ Thealleycat is one of the raddest chicks I've ever met, that's for damn sure x '
I smiled, liking his tweet.
I chose Thealleycat because of my love for The Aristocats.
O'Malley the Alley Cat was one of my favorite characters.
It was as simple as that.
And just then I thought, I could get used to this.
But then it was the next day.
I had gained a few hundred followers, although the boys were in the mid thousands now!
But, when I woke in the morning, and went to click my notifications, I noticed a few mentions that were not so friendly.
I smiled at the first notification.
@ trumanblack , @ bedforddanes75 , @ 1975adam , @ rass1975 , @ johnwaughsaxaphone  are following you.
All the boys! But, just below that, I saw a tweet from a girl that I didn't know.
' @ stolensweetheart98 ' was her name. Her tweet read, ' @ Thealleycat is Ally's girlfriend. #initforthemoney #monetgrubber #golddigger '
I frowned. I looked through the replies.
@ Arcticlover ; al has a gf? tf does she even do?¿
@ Jamiescookie ; it might not be the $$$. could b popularity, too.
@ Alsbaby ; fuck off he's mine
@ agilebeastgirl ; hey they probs pay for everything. she don't have to get a job or nothing m8
I clicked away from the tweet and looked away, frowning.
Then, I went back, clicked on the girls profile, and blocked her.
Its not like I couldn't handle a little bullying, but I didn't want to see that.
But it made me think.
Most kids at my age get a job.
I shouldn't be special.
Plus, having my own money, it'd allow me to sort of become more of an adult.
Or, it would help anyways.
With that, I grabbed the job section from the newspaper by my dad, and I began looking until I found an opening at a cafe in town.
I could do this.
I could do this.
I will do this.
Its happening.
