25 | I Don't Trust Him At All
SYLAQ'S POV
THE FOLLOWING MORNING
"Starving yourself to death is the last thing that will help you to escape from here," I said, feeling annoyed.
It's been eight days now and she still hadn't eaten anything. She would only drink water but she'd always rejected the food.
"I don't want to eat," she clenched her fist.
"You're not being logical at all. Tell me how are you gonna escape from here if you don't even have the energy to talk loudly? You know, food helps the brain to think," I pressed, hoping that she would agree to finally eat.
She took a minute to think before saying, "for someone who wants me to stay here forever, you shouldn't be helping me out to escape."
I let out a sigh.
It's because I can't stand seeing you in pain, your pain is like a poison that is made to kill me.
"I don't want you to be drained out. I know your concern is the blood but we don't add blood to our meals," I've told her this a million times.
What she did last night made me angry but then I couldn't blame her. No human would want this kind of life but if she only knew that my life can't exist without her by my side.
"Fine, I'll eat but only if the snacks come from Zainies Patisseries," she demanded, raising her head from the pillow. I was relieved to hear that.
Zainies Patisseries was a popular bakeshop in Dobana and fuck, the journey from here to Dobana was five hours long.
"Okay, I'll get you something from Zainies Patisseries in less than twenty minutes," I assured her.
"Right," she snickered, obviously doubting me.
"I've got it all covered," I said, sprinting out of the room and dashing into the kitchen in a second.
"Good morning, your high-" I cut Mia off.
"Don't bother with the greetings. I need you to teleport me to Dobana like right now," I told the honey-brown-haired witch in front of me.
"If that's what you desire then I shall do it. Hmm, please focus on the place where you want to be," she said, rolling her hands in a circular motion.
"Mia, I must be teleported back here in fifteen minutes," I was sure to add.
"Yes, my prince," she smiled.
It wasn't the first time that she had teleported me to different places but it was the first time that I wanted her to be extremely fast. I let the image of Zainies Patisseries take over my mind.
"Intishk Dobana," she yelled, and just like that I was teleported to Dobana.
"Oh my God, did you just like appear from the ground," a few people outside the bake shop gasped.
"Forget what you saw and go get a life," I wasted no time in compelling them. If it was before, I'd be more than happy to kill them but now, I've changed. Being a vampire beast was a thing of the past.
The medium-sized building was painted yellow and bluish-purple. This bakeshop had always been loaded with customers but today, they were more than usual and if I was to wait for their orders to be taken then I'd be here for ages.
Shit, I didn't have time for this.
"So here's what's gonna happen," I was loud, and they turned to look at me.
I cleared my throat, and my green eyes turned red, "y'all should stand still, think about your life for five minutes, and let me do my thing in peace."
The helpless humans stood like statues and got lost in their thoughts.
Even the shop owner, Aduke froze and was lost in thoughts.
I squealed to the kitchen and packed different kinds of donuts, cinnamon rolls, chocolate cakes, and vanilla sugar cookies into a couple of boxes.
I had no money on me so I just dropped my gold wristwatch on the counter as payment.
When I was leaving the compulsion broke, and the whole place became chaotic.
"Thinking about my life did me some good. I just realized that I've been making a lot of stupid decisions," I heard a blonde girl tell the black-haired lady next to her.
"Excuse me, sir, did you pay for that?" Aduke's voice echoed around the bakeshop.
"Yeah, I did. It's on the counter," I gallantly walked out of there, feeling successful in my simple mission. As simple as it was, the outcome would make Ariella finally eat something. Ariella needed to start getting comfortable here or else she would never give me a chance.
ARIELLA'S POV
I'm very sure that he wouldn't be able to go to Dobana in a short time so that's why I said that. He's right though, if I want to get out of here, I need to take care of myself but how can I?
There's this fear that's deep inside me and it's slowly killing me. Sylaq is a vampire, he could feed from me, he could kill me just by feeding from me, and his family could drain out my blood.
My fate is fucked, really fucked.
Ariella, stop thinking like that. Remember that you're always in control so you should get your shit together and plan your escape.
First, I needed to get a bath, I hadn't had a bath in a week. Holy shit, that's not refreshing.
I took Sylaq's white towel and gathered my whole strength to go straight into the huge and well-detailed bathroom. I immediately buried myself in the queen-sized bathtub and had a clean bath. After washing my hair, I wrapped myself in the towel and squealed back to the room.
My eyes widened when I saw Sylaq gallantly sitting on the. bed like the Prince that he was but my shock grew even more when I saw the Zainies Patisseries labeled boxes of tantalizing snacks on the table.
Wow, he did it.
"Dam, you look so beautiful, as beautiful as the early morning sun," he breathed in a sexy way. I stopped myself from reacting to his compliment. Sylaq's sexy and all but it didn't change the fact that he's a vampire.
"I need to change so leave," I sounded harsh and rude but I wasn't ready to play nice.
"Hate me all you want but just eat something. I got those from your favorite bakeshop," he said, making eye contact with me before dashing out of the room.
I rushed to the table and grasped a hot donut.
Holy shit, what if this was not from Zainies Patisseries, what if he was fooling me. I don't trust him at all.
My salivating mouth was telling me that it was not fake but I stared at the snacks for minutes before realizing that the snacks looked and smelled exactly like the ones from Zainies Patisseries. I quickly shoved a chocolate donut into my mouth. Seriously, I've missed this, it's just so yummy. My stomach growled for more so I just kept on ravishing the yummiest donuts, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate cakes and kept the cookies for later. Finally, I was full after drinking a glass of water. Sylaq always provided me with water.
Holy shit! I don't even have clothes so I just have to wear these vampire clothes.
Oof! Just chill. Besides, I loved the smell of his hoodies so it's okay. I put on one of Sylaq's white hoodies and forced myself to sleep on the bed.
