1 | The Vampire Beast
CHAPTER ONE
SYLAQ'S POV
"Please spare my little boy, don't kill him, please stop," the red-haired lady pleaded with tears in her eyes but I could care less. I'm Sylaq Steele, the vampire beast.
Blue-Rain Vill, a beautiful village of colorful people had been turned into a lifeless hamlet by me. I glanced at helpless dead bodies scattered on the ground. I did this, I alone killed these weak humans and I was still unsatisfied. My fangs were itching me to sock more blood but I already destroyed this tiny hamlet of humans. Luckily, there were still a lot of cities which haven't been graced with my presence. I'd be sure not to skip any of them.
"Please don't kill me," the little red-haired boy begged but I just ignored him cause I had no interest in children.
"You're not my target," I groaned while going straight to his trembling mother.
My green eyes turned red as I compelled her, "you see, feeding from children isn't my thing. I may not be able to kill him but you sure can. Just squeeze his feeble neck until he loses his breath and dies."
Hypnotism is one of the greatest gifts of being a vampire, we can easily control the minds of humans to do what we want.
The little boy shivered from fear, his brown eyes looked at his mother with mercy. Children were supposed to see their parents as their protectors but I made this innocent kid look at his mom with terror. I watched how she grabbed her son with no remorse, she ruthlessly smothered his neck tightly causing him to choke.
"Ahem! Ahem! Momma, you're hurting me, please stop," he whimpered in pain, continuously coughing until his weak body couldn't take it anymore. The little boy crumbled to the ground lifelessly, he died swiftly without processing the fact that his mom murdered him.
A mother's love is the strongest and most true love there is but I've proven it to be false just by making her kill her son.
After ending her son's life, the compulsion broke and she fell to the ground hopelessly, heavy tears rained down her cheeks, and she was unable to look at her dead son, the one she used her very own hands to kill.
'Kill me now, just kill me, you monster," she wailed but where's the fun in killing her? It was better to make her live with the guilt of her cutting her son's life very short so, I chose not to end her miserable life.
This was me, heartless and fearless.
I walked away in victory but for some reason, I wasn't satisfied with the many lives that I'd taken.
I'd been alive for one hundred and sixty years, my first twenty-one years, I spent as a human.
Being human was boring, weakening, unadventurous, and worst of all, you don't have forever to live for.
Initiating me to become a vampire was my father's best choice. I knew that I was born for this vampiric life and I was excited about it.
My gold fangs itched me, thirsty for more human blood. It was only natural that my fangs were gold since I belonged to a royal family.
The wind started to blow uncontrollably, the whole place darkened as I gallantly walked, my feet stepped on so many bodies as I dashed to where my car was.
"Prince Sylaq Steele!" A voice called out my name, it sounded like an old woman's voice.
"Who the hell are you?" I voiced, squinting so that I could find her.
"You need not look for me 'cause you won't find me. I am your worst nightmare and you shall pay for killing all these innocent people! Hahahaha!!" The old woman laughed loudly that I could hear her annoying voice in my head.
"The joke is on you 'cause when I find you, I'll end your life in a heartbeat," I threatened her and she would be stupid to take my threat as a joke.
The strong wind carried me above the ground, spinning me around, then the wind took me much higher into the air.
"I see, you're a witch! Put me down right now," her dammed spell was pushing me to the limit.
This force was stronger than me, My body couldn't even fight it. But I still didn't get why she was flying my body this high. Perhaps, she wanted me to visit heaven or something.
Agh!
The dammed force threw me to the ground in a split second, my to head received such a heavy blow, the pain went away in less than five seconds. From nowhere, Jade appeared in front of me.
"Do you like my new magic powers?"Jade squealed in excitement. I should have known that this was her doing. I quickly raised to my feet, Jade knew that she was one of the very few people that I couldn't kill and that was why she tricked me like that.
"What the hell was that drama for? I thought a witch was attacking me," I clenched and unclenched my jaw.
'Ah, you didn't think wrong, I'm a witch. Can't I play a little game on my nephew again?" She sneered, her short black hair fluttering as she walked to my latest Mozaratti black car.
"Seriously, you really need to quit with this. Sylaq, take a break. You've killed way too much already, all for.....," she didn't complete her sentence but I knew where she was going. She continued, "even your father isn't that cruel," Jade told me, stopping a few inches away from my car.
"My father, your brother is the cruelest person I know of because he banished you," I reminded her moving closer in her direction.
"Sylaq, I'm more than your best friend than your paternal aunt so take my advice. You can't keep killing these humans. Mount Evie needs a good leader, not a vampire beast. Do you know what the people even call you?" Her green eyes remained focused on me.
Of course, I knew the words used in describing me.
Ruthless.
Vampire Beast.
Monster.
King of terror.
They could hate me for all I care. I honestly don't give a fuck. There was a time when I actually did care, when I had feelings but old me had long been buried.
"The witches are very angry with you cause you killed one of their wizards," I somewhat knew that she would bring that up.
"Oh is that so?" I let out a sardonic laugh. Jade tapped my shoulder, "this is not a joke."
'Jade, the witches can't harm me. Besides, I have my aunt with me so what can go wrong?" I meant that. It's not like me to meddle in the business of the witches but it would be hypocritical of me to turn a blind eye to what was happening. I had great suspicion that my sister was working in hand with the witch Queen obviously planning on how to destroy me and that must be why they colluded to get Jade out of the way.
"That's the thing, you won't always have me by your side so you need to stop," the words rushed out from her mouth.
She had managed to confuse me, I ran my left finger through my messy curly brown hair and heaved a sigh.
Without warning, my god dammed car just exploded. Good thing, the fire didn't affect me cause of Jade's protective spell.
"What the hell?!" I screeched.
"Sylaq, do as I say! Don't fight them," Jade cringed as the witch Queen and her fool of a servant approached us, coming from the north side of where we were. Aluta, the witch Queen who was two centuries old looked very young in a brown silk gown.
There was no way in hell that I wouldn't fight them. I wasn't just a prince, I was a vampire beast. I would easily teach Aluta an unforgettable lesson.
"Sylaq, don't!" Jade yelled. I'm sorry Jade but I must put an end to this.
As soon as I launched myself against the blonde witch Queen, about to put my fangs to work, I and Jade were teleported to a different place.
We were in front of a high school building, Dobana High was boldly imprinted on the black gate. Of all places, why here?
The fuck? How did we get to Dobana, a small city of humans?
"Jade, why did that witch Queen teleport us here?"
"She didn't, I did."
"Excuse me? You did what?" My temper flared.
"If we stayed there any longer, she would have killed you," she explained but her explanation wasn't reason enough for her to make such a cowardly move.
Though Jade was a very powerful witch, she wasn't brave enough to face up to her enemies. She always let her emotions rule over her, she didn't even fight for her innocence when my dad banished her cause of that dammed sister of mine, Bella.
"I'm not scared of Aluta, you made her think that I am weak," I clenched and unclenched my fist.
"Sylaq, I've always protected you from all evil. Yes, you are very strong but the witch Queen is no match for you."
"Do you think she will not locate us here? I'm sure she will and I hope she does," I was serious.
"No, she will not find us here. I am at least powerful enough to hide from her for a few months," she said.
"Jade, I'm so not staying here for a few months," why would I want to stay in the same city that took away who I loved the most?
"Sylaq Steel, I have no child of mine, I was banished from my kingdom, you are the only family that I have and I won't let your ego let me lose you," she pouted.
"Jade, listen...."
"No, I won't listen. If you love me then you'll stay right here In Dobana," Jade resulted in emotional blackmail. "
"Okay," I gave in.
"Okay?" She asked in doubt.
"Yeah, okay. We can stay here for a few days," I emphasized on a few days.
"Thanks for understanding," she appreciated me.
"I don't understand you but I'm doing this for your peace of mind and to have some fun too," I smirked. Now that I was here, I might as well continue with my mission.
"Sylaq Steele, don't even think about it," she clasped her hands.
"Did you think I was gonna stay in this place and not cause havoc?" I shook my head in disbelief.
"It's only because of your havoc that we are here," she shocked me.
"No, we're here cause you're too much of a coward to face up to Aluta," I harshly said and walked away from her.
