No Nights at Team Crafted's

Chapter Ten:

Curiosity Killed the Cat

-...-

First it was his ears that picked up sound, and then the rest started to fall into place. He began to feel cold metal pressed against his arm and as he slowly opened his eyes at last, it all came crashing down on him. He struggled for air as he tried to make sense of what was happening at the moment. There was red lights all around, but his vision was still a bit blurry.

Tyler tried to move, but that was quickly stopped with one important fact. He was inside a metal shell of an animatronic. He was in pain, and he wasn't sure why. He couldn't tell if the shell was tied to him or glued to him or bolted to him, and he guessed with all the pain it had to be something painful. It could see out of the eyes of the shell, but other then that, anybody who looked at him would think he was nothing more then an animatronic.

Tyler groaned, trying to move. As his sight got better slowly by slowly, he began to look at his surroundings. He was in a small square room, on a chair that looked like a scary dentist chair. There were tools and metal parts everywhere, and Tyler stopped and stared when he saw blood. On the chair, on the floor, on the tools. Was it his? He was so out of it, it probably was.

Tyler was able to sit up and sit with his legs dangling off the side of the chair. It hurt. It really truly did, and he had tears in his eyes. Every move brought more pain. But he couldn't stop himself. He was alive, at least he was pretty sure he was. Tyler took a deep breath, in and out, and looked around again. He saw computers on desks around the table, all with the same screen. A red screen that had words on it. Words that Tyler could only put together to say “EXPERIMENT FAILED”. The red was bright, and it hurt his eyes.

Continuing on, Tyler sat there for a few long minutes before taking the step to getting off the chair. He took a deep breath, in and out, and pushed himself gently off. His feet in the floor and the metal made a loud sound that hurt his ear. My, how everything hurt. Tyler paused, his body shaking, and then took a step. And another, and another. He stopped at the door, raising his shaking hand to touch the door knob. My, how it all hurt.

Tyler opened the door, which opened with a quiet click. He peeked out into the hallway to find it was silent. Nobody was in sight. So he walked out, not bothering to close the door. Thoughts were coming and leaving his head left and right, for he had no room to hold them all, and the more he thought, the more it hurt. He didn't know which way he was going, but he walked on and on down a white hallway. At one point, his vision had blurred out again, and he was blindly walking forward. It wasn't till he turned a corner and found himself at a familiar door did he stop. His legs buzzed and shook as he looked up at the door, which had a light blue 4 on it. He blinked a few times. My, how It all hurt.

Walking in finally, he found himself in the hall of fame. The hall of animatronics. He was told to go here, right? He didn't know, he was drawn to it at least. Inside, he looked around, his neck in pain, and he saw all these animatronics. They were not moving, they just sorta stood there in their own little places, name tags and all. His foot steps echoed and he found himself, after long minutes of gazing at the other robots, at the end of the hall. There was something different though. Something he didn't remember. At the end of the hall was a small desk with wires and controls on it, as well as a box.

It was the box he was told about, but all Tyler knew was that it was familiar. It looked like a cooler though, so he had doubts. Above it was a switch, or a leaver, he wasn't sure, that had a bright blue handle. There were word of warning around it, but he couldn't read them. He felt drawn to it, and soon, all he could think about was pulling that switch. All his thoughts of pain and agony were shoved out, and he ignored it all. He wanted the leaver. And so, he pulled it.

A blue static shot out from a wire in the wall, as well as some of the metal of the leaver. Tyler watched, it beautiful to his eyes. The static shot across the room, and it started to get noisy.

You did it~”

Tyler turned around when he heard a voice, but there was nobody there. Instead, he witnessed lights in the once lifeless animatronics flickering. They were waking up. Every single one of them. He saw them begin to walk out of their confined spaces. Some turned to him, while others turned for the door. But then, suddenly, an alarm went off, and a red light near the door flickered. But still, they ignored it, and walked out. Tyler's ears buzzed, his limbs hurt, his heart raced, and his vision switched from prefect to might as well be blind. My, how it all hurt.

So he took a deep breath, in and out.

“I....” He spoke, his voice hoarse. “I did it.”

“I did it.”

-....-

Mike was nearly running into the park, the key in hand. Curiosity was flooding over him, and he wanted to know, no, needed to know what was in that room. What else was he to do? Tell Aviator he almost got into trouble? What fun was that now, really? The air was getting colder and colder and the wind had picked up, so he was nearly freezing himself by running. He nearly tripped a few times too.

He was out of breath by the time he found the narrow hallway again, and was huffing when he got to the door. His body was shaking, and he had no clue what he was about to face. Struggling to place the key he had into the slot, he nearly lost it fighting with the lock. But when he heard a click, he smiled, and pushed his way into the room.

Had he expected what he actually saw, he'd never touch that side of the park ever again. He wasn't once to find a skeleton sitting and rotting away on a chair surrounded with papers clipped to the wall very amusing. He stared, shaking even more now then before. And to add to that, it was horribly cold in that room. But something drew him in. And so he looked farther into the room.

It smelled, by the way. It was such a horrible smell that Mike couldn't ignore it no matter what. His hand was over half his face as he looked around at the papers on the wall. News articles, notes, photo graphs. It was all in order by year, oddly enough, and he started at the newest of years. He didn't read it all through, just scanned the titles and the pictures. It was all about Team Crafted and Team Crafted Company, as well as murders and missing people, and all that jazz. There were notes every now and then that were out of order, all with the same hand writing. They all said things like “I hate myself.” “Kill me.” “How could I.” or “I'm a monster.”. Mike couldn't help but think it was the very man who sat dead in the chair.

“What is this...?”

Mike had gotten to the end, finally, and it all had turned to nothing but murders and missing workers and...and something oddly familiar. Words and pictures of things Mike knew by heart. His eyes widen and memories flashed in his hands. He could hear that damn bears laughter in his head! He nearly chocked on his breath.

To Mike's horror, the news papers and photos and what not had all become about one topic. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The opening, the creepy pastas, the bite of '87, the closing and reopening. The disappearance of the 5 children. There were photos, horrific photos, of the animatronics, and photos of them with children, nothing but hope and love. There were clippings of complaints of the smell and blood and mucus coming from the animatronics. There was even paper work on the past workers. Including the man Mike only knew as The Phone Guy.

Mike started coughing, stumbling back. “W-What the fuck!?”

Mike nearly tripped on more paper, which had fallen to the floor. He looked down to see it was more news clippings, but something he didn't quite remember. He picked it up, trembling. What he read put new fear in him.

TEAM CRAFTED COMPANY SCRAPS PLANS FOR FREDDY FAZBEAR'S FOOD CHAIN EXPANTION.”

TEAM CRAFTED CO. TURNS DOWN FAMILIES ASKING WHY?!: THE CONTINUATION OF THE MYSTERY OF THE 5 MISSING CHILDREN”

THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COVERS FOR TEAM CRAFTED COMPANY. ARE THEY REALLY TO BLAME?”

ORIGINAL CREATOR OF THE FREDDY FAZBEAR ROBOTS WORKING FOR SECRETIVE CORPORATION? IS TEAM CRAFTED COMPANY KID FRIENDLY!?”

Mike tore the paper apart. How Ironic. HOW FUCKING IRONIC. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was Team Crafted Co.'s project. It was funny how the offices looked so similar, huh? No shit, it really was made by the same company. It really was! Mike turned around to remember the skeleton. Who was this man!? What did he know that drove him insane!? Well, that last question was obvious. Mike could feel himself sharing the same insanity, he was sure of it.

And so, the pizza place everyone seemed to love had more of a connection then predicted. Mike couldn't stop choking on his breath. Team Crafted Co. knew what was going on at Freddy's, and knowing their history with the park, Mike could also assume that Team Crafted Co. was hiding all of the past murders at Freddy's. The girl of '87 and the phone guy. In fact, they kept employing.

“They were gonna kill me too!” Mike shouted out, tears in his eyes.

hehehe~”

“GAH!” Mike gasped, hearing the childish laughter again.

The laughter seemed to leave the room and Mike swore he could hear it echo from the hallway. Mike followed it, and ran out of the room. But the laughter vanished. So did Mike's sanity. Mike continued to run out of the hallway. He had a new destination. Running and running, faster then he ever had before, his feet in pain with each step, he escaped the park. Gasping, he got to his car. Driving off, he had a hard time concentrating on the road, but found himself at his destination rather quickly. His destination? Freddy's.

The place was closed, it seemed, but that didn't stop Mike. He broke his way in, knowing there was no alarm. There never was one. The lights were off, but Mike didn't care. He ran inside, finding himself in the room with the stage and the tables.

Hehehe~”

“GODDAMMIT!” Mike shouted at the laughter, climbing his way on top of the tables, facing the three animatronics on the stage. “WHO ARE YOU!? SHOW YOURSELVES!”

Chica moved.

“L-lets E-Eat!”

“SHUT UP! WHO ARE YOU!?” Mike shouted.

“I-I-It's Me!” Freddy shifted.

Mike coughed. “SHOW YOURSELVES! YOU CHILDREN! THE LAUGHTER! WHO IS IT!?”

Save us~”

Save us!”

Please, sir?”

Do save us.”

Mike looked around, panicked. It was children talking to him! VOICES IN HIS HEAD!? Mike was on the edge.

“WHO ARE YOU!? PLEASE!”

Save us!”

Kill the lights!”

Shut the power!”

Save us!”

Survive the night!”

Mike nearly had a heart attack when the back stage room lights flickered on. It was the voices. It had to be the voices! Mike jumped off the table and into the room. Animatronic heads, everywhere, and they all stared at Mike. But that wasn't what bothered him. Mike saw the power generator. The voices were talking to him, and they told him to trash it.

“FUCK IT!” Mike yelled.

Mike ran over to the power box and tore it apart. The power flickered on and off through out the whole building. He tore wires out and even began to laugh while doing so. Trashing the place was a dream do any worker at Freddy's.

The blue plug.”

pull it.”

pull it!”

Please!”

Sir?”

Mike didn't see what they were talking about at first, but as he tore more of the box apart, he found a compartment. It opened after a struggle, and what was in there was a large light blue plug attacked to the wall. Mike didn't hesitate. He pulled the thing from the wall. Mike then stepped back. The lights stopped flickering. For a moment, it was dark, but then emergency power kicked in. This was the power Mike had to save night after night.

Mike walked out of the back stage room, the lights all on. He walked in front of the stage to find all three animatronics slowly moving. They weren't going anywhere. He heard a current being pulled back and looked over to see Foxy peeking out of his spot.

“What's going on?” Mike asked. “What did I do!?”

The connection has been broken!”

We are saved!”

“Free!”

Alive!”

“YOU'RE TALKING!” Mike shouted, witnessing the animatronic's mouths move to each voice. Each voice sounded a bit different.

You've saved us from the scary man!” Chica spoke.

We can leave now!” Said Bonnie

No more shall we be filled with anger!” Then there was Foxy

That is, unless the scary man comes back and fixes the plug!” And last, Freddy.

“S-Scary man?” Mike stuttered.

He trapped us and killed us and forced us to kill!” Cried out Foxy

“W-What!?” Mike gasped.

We are the voices!” Bonnie said.

We are the children! And we are free!” Freddy added.

“Explain to me!” Mike barked.

There was a pause.

Team Crafted Company kidnapped us.”

Team Crafted Company killed us.”

Team Crafted Company trapped our voices into suits, and then made us mad.”

Team Crafted Company made us kill.”

Team Crafted Company continued the slavery for years with no end!”

But Team Crafted Company failed to check the plug that keeps us trapped inside.”

We were able to each out for help.”

For you!”

And you came!”

You listened to us!”

You trashed the plug!”

You saved us!”

Mike looked around, unsure about this.

“So. So wait. TC Co killed the 5 children?” Mike shook his head. “Wait, where is the 5th child's voice?!”

He's here.”

With us.”

He is golden!”

Please do not worry over him.”

Mike began to laugh.

“S-So that plug kept you all trapped inside those suits. It kept you all, you children, angry!? W-Was it like a force field or something!?” Mike asked.

There is no other way to explain.”

But now we can leave the suits.”

Now we can go to heaven!”

The afterlife!”

With our family!”

Our friends!”

“I still don't understand!” Mike shouted.

Nor do we know all of the truth.”

We are only children!”

And we've been so for years and years!”

Mike was shaking and shaking and tears were in his eyes. He was loosing. He wasn't the type to believe things like this, but it was happening in front of his very eyes. He chocked out sobbs.

You've done good, sir.”

You're a hero!”

Please don't cry!”

Please, sir!”

Mike rubbed away his tears. “I'M NOT CRYING!” He shouted.

We shall not stay for long.”

But please, do find out the truth.”

It is what you seek, isn't it?”

“SHUT UP!” Mike shouted.

Mike ran out of the building. He was a mess. A horrible, insane, mess. He got in his car and drove. He drove off, his mind flooding with none stop thoughts. Memories. Everything was crashing down on him. He was sure he had run a few red lights on his way to his next stop, but the roads were silent, and so nobody was there to stop his madness. He found himself back at Team Crafted Company's building, and he found himself storming inside.

“S-Sir?” The woman at the desk looked concerned when she saw Mike barge in.

“SIR! You can't go back there!”

Mike didn't care about the woman. He ran past her and into the hallway, heading towards the elevator. As he got it, he could hear her going to her phone, probably to shoot Hwnt a warning. Because it was Hwnt who Mike was really going for, right? He was probably the scary man those children were talking about. If not, he was still behind all of this, and he was going to pay.

Mike stepped out of the elevator, and walking down the hallway a bit, he found just who he was looking for. Hwnt was walking down the hallway, and had stopped when he saw Mike. Mike had the upper hand, though, and shoved Hwnt against the wall beside one of the doors to the white rooms.

“WHY!?” Mike cried out. “WHY!?”

Hwnt stared into Mike's mad eyes. Hwnt was a bit mad himself at the moment, so he grinned.

“Why what?” Hwnt asked.

“WHY DID YOU KILL THOSE CHILDREN!?” Mike shouted. “WHY DID YOU TRAP THEM IN THOSE SUITS!? WHY!?”

Hwnt frowned and stepped on Mike's foot, the kicking the man in his leg. Mike gasped in pain and then was thrown into the white room after Hwnt opened the door. Mike fell to the floor and Hwnt blocked the narrow doorway. Mike glared at Hwnt and struggled to stand back up.

“What are you talking about, you idiot?” Hwnt hissed.

“You know what I'm taking about!” Mike barked. “You and your stupid company created Freddy's! You and your stupid company created that death hole!”

Hwnt paused. “Oh. Our first project? Oh course I did. I don't see why you're so upset?”

“You trapped those souls inside those suits and kept them mad for years!” Mike shouted.

Hwnt laughed. “Did I? You see, that's what I did with Freddy's, and that's what I did with Team Crafted's. But a silly little TYLER had to come around and fuck it all up and it seems you've fucked up Freddy's huh? You don't think I wouldn't have known if the plug was pulled! It's connected to mainframes here in the building!”

Then Hwnt sighed.

“Not that I expected much. I didn't care much for that pizza place anyway. The manager who runs the place basically owns it now!”

“But people are still dying there!” Mike fought back, standing up.

“NEWS ALERT!” Hwnt raised his voice at Mike, making him flinch. “PEOPLE DIE! PEOPLE DIE HERE, PEOPLE DIE THERE! PEOPLE DIE EVERY DAY! PEOPLE DIE DIE DIE!”

“You think it's funny!?” Mike felt anger in his system.

“Oh butthurt Mike. I didn't start it. It's only a tradition I kept going.” Hwnt smiled. “And so you came here to do what? Kill me? Get answers? How do you think you're going to do that?”

“Why!?” was all Mike had to say.

“Why this, Why that!?” Hwnt mocked. “You see, it's little shits like you that i'm just so tired of. When's the retirement age, I think i've just about had it.”

“Stop laughing at this! It's inhuman!”

Hwnt just stared at Mike.

“You know. I will let you know something.” Hwnt then yawned. “You see, I don't know what I'm doing anymore. Employees are quitting everyday. Each day that passes is another day closer to when the law force snaps on us and has us going down in flames. So as the final moments of this game play out, I'm going all out.”

“You're sick!” Mike shouted.

“AHAH!” Hwnt burst out with the face of a madman. “AHAHAHHAHAAH!”

Mike felt a shiver attack his body. It was that moment that he realized he had made the stupidest mistaken ever. He had let curiosity run him over. He should have never returned to this fucking building! He was returning to a trap he was lucky to have escaped in the first place! Mike realized how stupid he was. How his stupidity was going to be the last of him. He had evidence against the company, he should've gone to the police and then home to rest and regain sanity.

But he didn't.

“You know, Mike Schmidt.” Hwnt giggled. “You've got nowhere to go. In fact, I think your voice would be a lovely addition to the collection. I mean, your boy Tyler's here. I know you miss him. I can find those children again. Anything's possible at this point, don't you think?”

“N-no.” Mike stepped back.

“And, you know, Mr. Schmidt.”

Hwnt had something in his hands. Hwnt held it up and pointed it at Mike.

“Curiosity killed the cat.” Hwnt grinned.

The madman had a gun, and the madman aimed it at Mike's head.

“Quite literally, don't you think?”

That was it. Mike knew it. The trap was triggered, and the gun went off. A loud bang echoed throughout the hallways, and Mike Schmidt fell to the blood stained floor. There were no last words or moments of life for him. He was dead the moment the bullet hit.
