Submission Support:

- Prevent disqualification by choosing a chapter where the majority of its content fits the theme

- Unlike the regular NBR spotlight rounds, you are not allowed to include a summary of your book. Your readers (voters) will assess the quality of your story telling based on its relation with the theme

- Review and make final edits to your chapter before submission. Remember that a winning chapter should be able to entice readers through the first few paragraphs

How to vote: Beginning 2/21/2017, cast a vote with up to three chapters (optional) by posting it in the comment section below using this format:

Voting Support:

- You don't have to list your votes in a scale (e.g. favorite, 2nd favorite, 3rd favorite) but you can if you want to

- Remember that a valid chapter is deserving of a vote only if the majority of the chapter matches the theme of the Battle

- Moderators will formally count the votes to identify the winner of the challenge

- Tie breakers will be determined by the Board and a reason will be provided

More Information

- One entry per Author

- No word limit because a short chapter is not indicative of a better read than a long chapter

- The majority of the submitted chapter must have aspects of the theme and if not, it obviously doesn't qualify

- Only active #NBR members can take part in the challenge

- Participants are not allowed to vote for their own entry
