Chapter 39

Markoth's wall.

An earth element, volcanic class magic art.

This magic art was well known to all volcanic class mages due to it's powerful defensive capabilities, likewise also because of its powerful offensive capabilities.

When hit, the wall would absorb all types of attacks, be it physical, or mental. The wall would absorb it. After absorbing all the energy that made contact with it, it would then throw it back to the attacker with addition to its caster's own magic capability.

Unless one can overcome the threshold the wall can take, then Markoth's wall would be simply an unbreakable and very trustable wall.

Another short side is that the wall can't retaliate unless the attacker stops attacking it.

A crappy design to its original creator.

(Author note: to summarize, Markoth's wall is somewhat similar to league of legends' thornmail)

Hence why Molu have ordered to increase the magic cannons power and start to bombard the wall was simply to avoid having all the force they sent to simply rebound back to them.

And as they were on a ship, getting hit by such a force would surely cripple and decimate them.

Taking account all the possible outcomes, Molu said,

"Slowly retreat while continuing the bombard. We can't let them have the opportunity to retaliate.

Although there are only a few who are smart within the pirates, most of them knew how to read the situation. And the situation right now was clearly not on their side.

So, when they heard Molu's order, most of them breathed a sigh of relief. The situation and the losses they have receive today was simply pressuring them.

So for short, the order was a breather.

Lucilia obviously noticed the sudden retreat of the pirates. However, she knew herself that she wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Markoth's wall ability to retaliate may be powerfull, but it would still depend on its caster in order to hit it's target.

As a tertiary magician, using arts that is not within it's level would incure a backlash.

And with her current condition now, giving a proper aim would be nearly as tough as trying to learn different elements rather than your main element.

Hence, she can only let this matter go.

"Hmm?"

"What's that?" She thought.

.....

"Big brother, big brother. Tally to 8 bandits, twelve o'clock low. Permission to activate sharks."

"Copy that HB-12. The shark is ready to go."

"Copy that. Dropping sharks."

The HB-12. HB for the word HummingBird and 12 as the latest model.

The HummingBird was designed specifically to infiltrate enemy lines from the front by using high speeds.

It is also equiped with 8 shark torpedoes to inflict heavy damage to the enemy ships.

Once hit by this type of torpedo, one could already say goodbye since the shark torpedo are highly explosive and has the ability to do armor piercing.

The shark torpedo also travels at the speeds around 45-60 kilometers per hour, which makes dodging nearly impossible.

Even when traveling at high speeds, the HB-12 did not go unnoticed.

The loud sounds it left on its trail was already a good reminder that it was headed to them.

Seeing the approaching HB, Molu immediately felt something bad was about to happen, so, he ordered his men to immediately change targets from Lucilia to the HB.

However, before they could even do so, the HB had already passed them, leaving behind a booming trail of sound.

"So fast!!"

"Just what is that thing?!!"

Lucilia straightened up. She didn't know what that 'fast' thing was as well.

She immediately made hand formations and aimed Markoth's wall at the HB.

But before she could even aim properly, a commotion suddenly erupted within the pirates, followed after that we're loud explosions.

"Wha?!"

"The pirates ship's are on fire!!"

"Have those pirates gone insane that they started killing themselves?"

Exclamations we're heard all over the La Camesa. Everything just happened too fast.

In one moment, the pirates have retreated while bombarding them, in the next moment however, the pirates were already on flames.

As shocked as she was, Lucilia didn't lower her vigilance. If that 'thing' could eliminate 8 ships from the Black Eel pirates just like that, then the same thing could be done on them as well.

Activating a simple no attribute spell, Farsight, she then looked up to the direction of the HB who were making rounds around them.

When she did so however, she was shocked.

"Tha-that thing...... Has the flag of the Philippines..."

She then noticed someone at the arrowhead of the HB, that someone, likewise, was also looking at her.

Moments later, that person then gave a thumbs up to Lucilia to which, she herself, as if instinct, nodded subconsciously.

After that, the HB then left, leaving Lucilia and the last three remaining ships of the Black Eel pirates.

.....

"Big brother, priority is secured. RTB to mother now."

"Copy that. Hukdo and Amara would be coming in visual to pick up priority. Job well done HB."

"Copy."

......

After the HB left, Molu finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, fear had already plastered his heart and mind.

He didn't exactly knew what happened, but he is sure of one thing. And that was a creature that they would never be able to contend it.

He also saw the earlier scene where that 'creature' circled the La Camesa but was left unscathed.

There and there he knew, that 'that' creature was Lucilia's ally.

"This... Just how did it end like this....."

Molu deeply regretted accepting the Empire's task to capture Lucilia. If he hadn't accepted it, then everything that happened today would not have happened.

And now, them, the Black Eel pirates, would no longer be the most notorious and cruel but would be now the most weakest and the laughing stock of the whole of the underworld.

What if they have magic cannons. Without numbers, then they're nothing to the other pirate groups.

As of now, they're easy prey.

Molu looked at the deck. There, every single one of his men are now looking at him with dark faces.

And just by seeing this, Molu knew what's about to happen next.

"You!!!"

"You brought us to this wretched place!!"

"My brother's dead because of your decision!! I want you dead!!"

"Forgiveness!!!! Ask for forgiveness. I don't want to die yet!"

Angered exclamations we're heard all over the ship.

Enraged by this sudden outburst, taking his scimitar, he then beheaded the nearest person to him and then shouted,

"My decision. Why won't you point out remembering that you had happy faces when the Empire offered the task huh!!"

After shouting this, Molu was angered to the fullest that magic flunctuations started appearing around him, surrounding his scimitar.
