Chapter Twelve

"Hinata please wait! I'm sorry for not telling you! Are you angry?" You ask her, wishing well that she wouldn't be mad. She turns around and looks at you sadly.

"I'm not angry. Just... (Y/N), you know Professor. Kakashi will lose his job over this if Principal Tsunade finds out, right?" You bite your bottom lip at Hinata's words, knowing well what she's talking about.

"I know, but she won't. I graduate in a year and I'm sure we can be secretive about this until then. Just please promise me that you won't tell anyone, no one knows but you." You plead Hinata. She grabs your hands and smiles at you.

"Your secret is safe with me. But you have to tell me everything." Hinata says as she tightens her grip a bit, making you smile as well.

"Over ramen? My treat." Hinata nods happily before you both take off towards the car.

~

"It's still a bit weird... I could never imagine myself with a teacher really. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to see the professor as before..." Hinata says before she sips her drink in thought.

"I know, I know. It is something unusual but I'm glad you understand. I still don't remember well what happened that night but the day after the party was just amazing. But enough of me Hinata! I know you entered the closet with Naruto by just the small smiles you guys sent each other today!" You say excitedly as you push away the empty ramen bowl. But Hinata just looks down with an embarrassed smile.

"Well we didn't enter the closet together but we did bump into each other upstairs... and may have talked about some things. First from favorite color until our crushes... It kind of just appeared I guess. He told me that he liked me and asked if I like him... It was hard to say yes but eventually I did. But that was all. We didn't kiss. Just confessed to each other. And I was too shy about it to talk to him today." She says, receiving a huge scream of excitement from your part. Something people would call fangirling. You were almost jumping in your chair with Hinata's hands in yours.

"Oh how happy that makes me Hina! If only you knew how much I worship you two. And I bet many other people do too! I told you he didn't like Sakura anymore..." You cooed at her before taking out some dollars for your and Hinata's food. Giving them to the owner, Teuchi. "Thanks old man, it was delicious as usual!" You say as you stand and walk out of the place after receiving a smile from Teuchi. Opening the door to leave, you end up bumping into two very familiar guys. One with grey hair and the other blonde. Causing your eyes to widen in surprise. "Oh hey guys. What are you doing here together?" You ask in curiosity before receiving a bear hug from Naruto.

"Hey (Y/N)! I didn't know you ate ramen, we should come hang out here together one day!" He says before letting go with his hands on your shoulders in delight, causing a smile to erupt on your face at his kindness that was always welcoming as ever. "Are you alone?"

"Actually no. I am here with my beautiful girlfriend." You say before Hinata appears in front of Naruto and Kakashi as well. Her eyes widen before she quickly bows and stands up. Naruto's smile shakes a bit at the sight of Hinata.

"Ah Hinata. Hi..." He says nervously before his lips quickly suck themselves into his mouth. While you knew well that Hinata's heart had to be crazy as well. Causing you to laugh at both reactions.

"Oh you guys are so cute. She's my girlfriend but I'm willing to share her with you Naruto." You say with your hand covering Hinata's side as if it were a whisper.

"Well answering the question you originally made. Naruto didn't get the best grade in the last english test and he's trying to buy me to forgive it with some ramen." Kakashi says, making your eyebrows higher in surprise. But you weren't really surprised in general.

"Naruto! Shame on you. You know Kakashi is too heartless to help you in such a thing." You say in pity, having Naruto with a frown and arms crossed.

"English class is worse than even history class. How can I not sleep during it?" He cries out, receiving a head shake from you. You look over to Hinata and notice her giving Kakashi a bit of an unusual look. As if he were a stranger.

"What a more..." Kakashi's eyes divert themselves to Naruto but then quickly look back towards Hinata. "gratifying encounter, Hinata." He says, causing you to hold in your laugh. Knowing that his intention was to not let Naruto understand since his vocabulary is fairly small.

"Ah yes. I'm hoping for them to continue on like this. I wouldn't want  to cause a commotion again." She says, causing you to laugh even more seeing Naruto's dumbfounded face.

"I'm lost." Naruto says with his eyes squinted. A smile is evident under Kakashi's mask, having Naruto look over at him.

"Ah don't worry Naruto. Just education talk. Wouldn't interest you anyway." Kakashi tells him causing Naruto to nod at his words. Naruto then claps his hands together, walking towards the table.

"Time to eat! I'll see you girls tomorrow at school." He says causing you to nod and exit the place.

"I'll see you later, Kakashi?" You whisper as you passed by him towards your car.

"Of course." Kakashi says as he went and joined Naruto.

Once you enter the car with Hinata beside you, she gives you a questioning look as you started up the engine. "What are you two planning to do later if I may know?" Hinata asks as you begin to move out of the restaurant's area.

"Ah it's poetry night! That first time you told me about it, he was there too when I went. And I think it was there where everything began. We just clicked I guess. So since then we've made poetry night a meet up for us both. Did you know that he writes poems and reads them out loud to the club? I still can't seem to get over it." You say, remembering how the words of his poem inspired you. Getting you what you wanted two months later. "And I'm actually planning to read a poem of mine out loud today. I'm dedicating it to him but obviously I can't announce it. Sadly..." You gulp, your smile faltering a bit. "But that's okay! Things are more romantic when they're in private anyway, right?"

"Of course. He actually is pursuing his feelings for you, and that's what matters." You nod at Hinata's words, looking at the bright side. Even though you couldn't show the world your love for Kakashi, you had to see the good things in all of this. So instead of thinking about such things like those, you could remember the fact that what you have with him is forbidden love. So let it intrigue you the whole way.

You arrive at Hinata's place and unlock the doors for her to take her leave. "Thanks for understanding Hinata. I'll see you tomorrow!" You exclaim, seeing her exit with a smile on her face. She shuts the door and walks ahead towards her house doors. And as she did, they open. Revealing a familiar dark long haired man. Neji.

"Welcome home, Hinata." Neji says as he gives Hinata a short bow. Later on ending up having eye contact with you. Neji gives a slight smile at the sight of you, causing you to divert your look and move away from the house. As you saw him, memories were coming back to you of the night surprisingly. And now, you had all of the details of everything. The closet, and even your drunken self. You slap your forehead as you felt embarrassed of yourself.

"I can't believe I made Kakashi go through that!" You exclaim as you shook your head along with a sigh.

~

You lightly slip the door open with your gentle hands and smile, as you always do, at the sight of the bookshelves. Here you were, with your poem in hand, to read it out loud for the very first time in front of everyone. You weren't confident in yourself really but you wanted to hear the people's ideas. What sounds weird and what could sound better in the poem. You didn't want to specialize in writing poems but you wanted to at least be decent.

"Hey (Y/N). You're right on time." A member from the poetry club says to you. You pull your scarf a bit from the cold night and make your way to your seat. Which Kakashi was sitting next to already. You look down at him and your eyebrows shot high in surprise.

"Wow you're on time. How unusual." You say as you sit and smile at him. He closes the book he was reading and looks over at you.

"I guess there was just no old lady to help cross the street." He says, causing you to laugh. Kakashi looks down at the book you had in hand and cocks an eyebrow. "A poem?" He asks you but all he receives is a shrug from you. Kakashi sighs and just looks up at the podium one of the club members was at.

"Well as you all know. It's cold outside. And whenever it's cold, you kinda just like want a loved one to be next to you. You want their warmth. So our theme this week is love. The fellow members who will be reading out their poems are the following:" He indicates before looking down at a notepad. "Tetsurou, Woo-Hyun, Hinami, and (L/N). It will be in that exact order also. Please, introduce us if you may Tetsurou." He says as he exits the podium, leaving a dark haired male stand up and walk towards the front. Once he arrives, he clears his throat and reads the words on his paper.

"So a poem it is. Why didn't you tell me?" Kakashi asks you in his dull tone. Keeping his eyes on the person reading as if he had no interest.

"It was supposed to be a surprise. But of course Kageyan had to ruin it. Damn him." You act as if you were angry with your fist balled. Putting away your fist, you look at Kakashi in the corner of your eye. Appreciating how pleasing he looked for you. He was wearing a black snow type of coat with a loose grey shirt under. Exactly as his hair. Along with some dark blue jeans, having the characteristics of some slims and black boots. The mountain type of ones.

"Don't stare too long." Kakashi says, noticing your gaze. Your eyes widen and turn almost instantly. Letting you eye Tetsurou. Who had just finished his poem that you couldn't pay attention to.

"Can you blame me? You're looking fine as hell." You say, having Kakashi close his eyes along with letting out a deep breath. You laugh lowly before paying full attention to the next person.

"Thank you for listening." Tetsurou says before bowing a bit and walking off to his chair. Receiving some snaps from his club members since claps are too loud for a library.

     "That was wonderful."

"Shut up, we didn't even listen." You retort Kakashi's words with silent chuckles. After, an edgy guy stands up to the podium. Ripped black jeans,  black hair with blonde tips, heavy boots, and wine red t-shirt. "I've never seen him." You say as you studied his deadpan look. As if he couldn't care less about what he was about to do.

"He's new in town. Had a book club of his own in Korea. Speaks Japanese fluently surprisingly. But I wonder if his poem will be smooth." Kakashi says, causing you to nod.

"You mentioned a dear loved one in the cold but before you could ever get that, love begins with yourself. And so, this poem is called Self Love." He says before gulping evidently and looking down at his paper.

"Once when I was running
from all that haunted me;
to the dark I was succumbing-
to what hurt unbearably.

Searching for the one thing,
that would set my soul free.

In time I stumbled upon it,
an inner calm and peace;
and now I am beginning
to see and to believe,
in who I am becoming-
and all I've yet to be."

Woo-Hyun finishes his poem. Keeping his gaze onto the podium. Your mouth was gaping open at the words he said, you couldn't believe he wrote such a thing. It was beautiful. You stand up and snap your fingers as hard you could, having others follow up with you. Shock was evident on the poet's eyes, wondering how you could like the poem so much. And the way he said everything, you could feel how he poured his being in that poem. Thanks to him, you could understand how important self loving was.

After shaking off the surprise he had, he bowed and went back to his chair. When he was walking towards it, his eyes couldn't stop staring at you. You sit down and look over at the bored Kakashi. "That was a great poem." You tell him but all he did was shrug.

"Don't make it overrated." Kakashi says, leaving your eyes to sadden.

"I liked it very much. I don't even want to read mine out loud..." You say lowly, receiving a glare from Kakashi almost instantly.

"Now that one won't be overrated." He says with a smile evident under his mask, causing you to smile as well at his aweing over you. A girl called Hinami now stands on the podium, reading her poem out loud. You grin at her and send her a thumbs up. Receiving a shy smile from her as well. As she read her poem, you look over at Kakashi. Wishing you could just land a kiss on his cheek. You sigh and look away, knowing you shouldn't since people there know that you're teacher and student. Apparently, she had already finished the poem. Your stomach was beginning to feel weird as you realize that it was your turn to read your poem. You gulp as you turn to Kakashi nervously.

"You'll be fine. Go ahead." Kakashi assures you, making your head nod automatically. You stand up, knocking over your chair by accident. "I've got it." Kakashi says, signaling you to move along. You tighten your grip on the small book in hand and just walk towards the front as calm as possible. Once you arrive, you set down the book on the podium and open it slowly. You set upon the page of the poem and look ahead. Spotting the twenty or so people in their seats. You smile at them as you felt your hands shake.

"Hi everyone. As most of you know, my name's (Y/N) (L/N) and I'll be sharing my poem for the very first time with you guys or anyone. Feel free to give me your ideas. Tell me what's wrong and right. I'm not a very good poet." You laugh nervously. "So this piece is called Illicit. I dedicate it to a certain person and he knows who he is." You clear your throat and look away from some of the smiling people onto the paper. And begin.

"Running and jumping,
am I here to follow the rainbow

Cunning am I, spot the color pink on the rainbow

Mumbling, should I think I should blink this rainbow

Will I be able to smother this color?

Forbidden you are to my dismay

Yet, do I want to stay away from this rainbow today?

Forbidden as you are,
my prey you are to this day."

You finish your poem. But was more than scared to look up and face your fellow members. But you feel obligated once you hear certain snaps. Moving your face up slowly, you see Kakashi standing up snapping for your poem. And after, some people followed up on him, snapping for you. A smile appears on your now calming face, seeing everyone supporting you. You close the book and bow to them gratefully. "Thank you very much!" As you made your way towards your seat, people were patting your back in praise. "Thanks." You tell all of them until you reached your chair. Once you sat down, you didn't dare look over at Kakashi. Knowing that his eyes were stuck on you.

"How could I ever guess who you must be talking about? You make this too difficult, (Y/N). But hey prey, he must be thrilled. I know I would be." He says with his entertained eyes. You bite your lip and look at him with squinted eyes.

"Maybe I can show you later why he's my prey." You say before your club president, Kageyan, says goodbye to everyone. Along with some praises for all poems said. You stand up with Kakashi and walk out of the library together. You tighten your scarf around your neck due to the cold weather as your teeth began to shake.

"(Y/N), that was a great poem. Thank you for pursuing this...taboo." Kakashi tells you, causing you to look over quickly. You give him a genuine smile as your heart skipped a beat for him. Noticing that you were in front of your apartment and the streets were empty, you stop Kakashi in his tracks. Standing in front of him, you pull down his mask slowly and grab his coat, bringing it closer to you. You lean in to his face and land a sweet kiss on his lips. Not full of lust, just a soft loving peck.

"Your welcome." You say as you pulled away from him, walking towards your apartment. "Good night, my illicit."

     "Good night, (Y/N)."
