It took me forever to come up with a name for our lovely pirate 😂
I even asked my parents and siblings for help, so I hope you guys enjoy whatever I call this?

I blink slowly, hands pressed against my cheeks and eyes starting to close.
I've been sitting in this basement dungeon thing for at least a whole day. My butt is numb from sitting on this uncomfortable chair all day, and I'm pretty darn sure we're still bringing in more of his crew. Unidentified men were caught in the castle and I obviously knew what was going on.
Coming to save your captain, are you? Well not today suckers. Not yet, at least. As much as I don't want them all to sit in cages like animals, being poked and prodded at, I can't let them leave until I get the answers I need. To be honest, I probably would have helped them escape by now, but Mr. Sleepyhead won't wake up. So here they stay, their captain chained up to the wall and everyone else in cells, cold and probably aggravated at the woman that keeps promising to let them out.
I lean back in my uncomfortable chair, flipping my head back to touch the wall. If he was going to sleep so long, I might as well. He can sleep as long as he wants. Crossing my arms over my chest, I close my eyes, listening to the sounds of dripping water and men begging for me to let them all out. Yep. Not today boys.
Somehow, despite wanting to sleep, I can't seem to shut down my brain. Sleepily opening my eyes, a heavy groan escapes my lips and I flip myself out of the chair. If I had a patient bone in my body, this wouldn't be so bad. But since I don't, all I'm letting myself do is get worked up and angry that he won't just open his dang beautiful eyes.
Did I just think that? Yeah, I did. And I'm not going to deny that this mysterious guy has seriously gorgeous eyes. In fact, all of him in gorgeous. His blonde hair, that heart melting smirk. And hey, most pirates have nasty yellow teeth with that one silver or gold tooth. This guy had enough common sense to keep himself in tip top shape. One flaw about everything, I can't really see him as good boyfriend material. You sneak in, off my fiancé, and then tell me that you only spared my life because I'm pretty?
With a heavy sigh, I dig around in my pocket, grabbing the pen he had on him and pulling it out. I don't know how many times I've looked at this thing today, but it just fascinates me. There isn't much detail on it but I can tell that this was specially made. It wasn't cheap looking at all, just a little sea rusted. It seemed that there was supposed to be a chain connected to it, but someone had ripped it off, bending the top part of the pen. I won't ask him about it yet, but I do want answers sooner or later.
"So, you knock me out, then take my things away and lock me up, ey Lass?"
I turn to the now fully awake captain, giving a sly smile. His green eyes narrow on me, fire slightly flaming in his orbs. Looking over to the side, I see the belt he wore around his waist hung on a hook, pistols setting on the ground beside it.
"You expect me to not be curious?" I question, grabbing the back of my metal chair and pulling it to his cell.
He doesn't answer me back, not saying a thing. Understandable. I sit down and lean forward, holding up his rusted pin with a mischievous grin. He purses his lips, leaning back against the rock wall near his chains.
"You're a pirate. I probably should have known." I look at the pen and back up at him, throwing at to him through the bar handles.
He catches it with ease, clamping his fingers over it so I wouldn't be able to see. Not like I hadn't seen it over a thousand times now. I twist the top part of my body around, looking to see if their were any guards around. When I know the coast is clear, I lean in really close to the bars, motioning him closer. He squints his eyes at me, looking quite unsure because of what had already happened. We kind of did chain him up.
"Come here," I give an angry whisper.
He rolls his eyes, putting his pen back where I had found it, back in his front shirt pocket. But dang, this guy had many pockets just let me say. Maybe it was the new style to go by? He pushes himself closer to me with his arms, getting as far to the bars as he could before the chains stopped him from getting any farther.
"I can help you get out of here, but I need to know some things first." My voice whispers, head peering back to check for guards.
He lifts a brow at my statement, looking confused that I would help him at all. With a shrug of his shoulders, he tells me to go ahead and ask the questions I wanted answers to.
"Who are you?"
"Vince." He tips his head to the side, giving a cheeky smile that made my chest tighten.
"Your full name, Vince." I glare at him, grabbing onto one of the metal bars that kept me from getting inside his cell.
"Vincent Cannon Williams. Happy now, Lass?" He sneers, his eyes staring right into mine like I was challenging him.
I give a bright smile, happy now that knew his name. It fits him. I reach back and shove my hand into my back right pocket, pulling out a new, freshly made silver key. The key that would give him freedom from his chains and his cell. He tries to lunge for the key, his chains preventing him from getting to close to me. With a smirk, he backs down, eyes narrowed on my red cheeks.
"Why are you here? Why did you kill my friend?" I hiss at him, getting no answer straight away.
He stays quiet, looking down at his wrists that were now raw and bleeding from the chain. He looked like he felt guilt, pulling at the metal at his wrists. I watch him, sighing softly.
"Vincent, I can't help you if you don't tell me." I try to coax him out of his sudden quietness.
"I'm a bloody pirate!" He shouts, his anger that had built up now starting to fully release. "You see, I wasn't going for your boyfriend, Lass. I was going for your mother. She's one of the richest people in the world! Kill her? Get coin. But he got in the way, protecting her. I knew at that moment I couldn't just demand the coins I desired. No, I had to make her willingly give up the fortune that you two Campbells sit on. That's why I chased after you." He scowls at me, his lips curled into a terrifying smile.
"I learn about my targets before I try to kill them. Your mother? The information I got was that she was filthy rich and selfish. I have no problem taking care of snobs like her. Then I come across some awfully pretty woman named Ella Jane Campbell, an only daughter with a dead father. I thought you two would be great targets." His once terrifying smile flips into a soft one, his eyes blinking slowly.
"That is, until I felt something pinch at my neck and the next thing I know, I'm stuck in a jail cell, chained up and giving out information to the pretty little priss that acts just like her mother."
I look down at the key in my hands, body trembling and ready to throw the key somewhere where I'd never find it again. He didn't deserve to be let go... but I can't let someone rot in a jell cell their whole life. I'm cruel in ways, but not these ways. Holding back the anger induced tears, I stand from my metal chair, kicking it back to where it across the rock floor and lands on its side.
"One more question?" I mumble, biting the inside of my cheek. Holding back my anger is one of the hardest things I deal with.
"If I let you go, will you take me with you?"
The sound of his chains rattling stop and he freezes, eyeing me up and down for any signs of lying. I look up, eyes filled with angry tears and cheeks blazing red.
"And why should I?" He snaps, grabbing at his chains and tugging.
"Because I'm the only one that can get you out of here. If you had said all those things to someone else, they probably would have killed you by now. I haven't killed you, and I don't plan to. Either you help me and I help you, or my mother decides your fate." I snap back, tone harsher than I meant it.
His head tips back and he lets out a hearty laugh, one I raise a brow to. His laugh actually made me feel calmer in one area and angrier in the other. Why are you laughing? Do you want to die?
"Alright, M'lady. I'll take you with us pirates, but even if you let me out, where would me and my crew go? My ship won't be back for a couple of days."
I blink, eyes squinting at his figure. He wasn't serious, right? No pirate leaves their ship and their ship doesn't leave them. Can someone seriously be that stupid? Apparently so.
"Why is your ship gone? Are you stupid or something?" I give him one of my famous: 'are you kidding me?' faces.
"My ship was damaged in a battle on the way over here. I told some of my crew to stay behind and take the ship somewhere they could fix it up. But it seems they haven't come back now or I wouldn't be in here."
I shake my head at this his stupidity, not able to process everything so fast. Let me get this straight. You sail to an unfamiliar place you've never been, tell your crew to take the ship elsewhere to repair it, and go after a bunch of coin? How did he expect to get away with all the plunder without a ship? I laugh, putting a hand over my mouth to keep quiet. Holding up the key, I jab it into the cell door and unlock his cell. I bend down in front of him, giving a smile as I grab his chained up wrists and unlock the first chain.
"Since your ship won't arrive for another day or two, I have the perfect place to keep you and your crew hidden. But for me to get you there, you'll have to put your trust in me." I mumble, unlocking his other wrist so he can finally be free.
"Trust you?" He parrots, rubbing his hurting wrists with a cringe.
"Yeah, you'll have to trust me. Don't worry, I have you covered, Vincent." I stand back up, heading to over to get his belt and pistols.
I bend down, grabbing his three pistols and belt, shoving the pistols back into their proper belt loops. He watches me with curious eyes, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Just call me Vince," he says, stepping out of his cell.
I turn back to him, holding out his things with a bright smile. He gives a genuinely nice grin, grabbing his belt and hooking around his waist again. Grin some more. I like it.
"Now that we have all that settled, where are the keys for the other cells?" He juts his thumb backwards, towards all the other cells full of his crew.
I flinch at his question, pulling a hand to my neck, rubbing roughly on the tense muscles.
"About that... I haven't stolen them from the guards yet." I give a sheepish smile, a shrug following after.
He puts a palm to his forehead, probably thinking about how I'm an idiot for not getting all of the keys first.
I think he's stupid for letting his ship go, he probably thinks I'm stupid for not getting all of the much needed keys.
What a wonderful way to meet each other, yeah?
