Meretseger unfolded the note and read it.

"So you and Nefertari huh?"

Djehuty Liam said as he stood with his back facing Rameses Zayn, looking out of the window. Rameses Zayn stared at him, his face expressionless as he regard him thoughtfully for a full minute before responding.

"Yes"

A sudden silence enveloped them as Djehuty Liam took a deep breath and exhale loudly without saying anything, his eyes still glued to whatever he was watching outside the window. The silence in the room became unbearable before Rameses Zayn finally spoke. "I'm sorry.....

"Thank you" He whispered then Djehuty Liam hugged him him back with a smile. They parted then Djehuty Liam knitted his brows into a serious expression.

"You're welcome but if you ever make her cry ....

"You know I won't" Rameses Zayn cuts him off with slight frown.

"I know" Djehuty Liam shrugged with a smile. "I'm just playing the part of the big brother since Nefertari considers me as such and warning you not to hurt her or else I will cut off your balls"

The whole room was quiet for a second before everyone burst out laughing, including the Pharaoh himself. The only people who weren't laughing were Nefertari's father Merener Louis and Rameses Zayn.

"You mean to tell us that, the reason why we are all here this early hours of the morning is because Nefertari couldn't handle the pain of her soreness and she's blaming Rameses Zayn's manhood?" The Pharaoh said with laughter in his voice.

"Yes" The elder answered and the entire room burst into laughter again. Nefertari's father palmed his face and Rameses Zayn flashed a sheepishly smile as his father gave him thumps up.

Merener Louis got angry and stomped out of the throne room.

The Pharaoh raised his hand and the room became quite and cleared his throat from the laughter. "Before I say anything, does anyone has something to say?"

Nefertari's father hurriedly moved from his seat and kneeled in front of the Pharaoh, bowing slightly "This lowly servant will like to speak, my Pharaoh"

"Go on" The Pharaoh said.

"I sincerely want to apologise for the troubles my daughter have caused to you, the Crown Prince, to the royal family and also the elders. I ask each one of you to find it in their heart to forgive her"

Nefertari's father hesitated before continuing. "And we all know it will be difficult to find someone to marry my daughter after this, and since the Crown Prince has taken my daughter's virtue, I think it's only proper for him to marry her"

The Pharaoh smiled and relaxed in his throne. "On behalf of my family and the elders, we accept your apology and regarding your daughter, Rameses Zayn and I, planned yesterday to see you this afternoon and seek her hand in marriage till this unfortunate events happened. So expect us this afternoon and we'll do things the proper way according to customs"

"Okay, then I will be expecting you and the Crown Prince" Nefertari's father said with a satisfied tone, beaming with smiles and stood up then went to his seat. Some of the elders congratulated him as it's a prestigious honor to be affiliated to the royal family.

"Okay, since no one is talking then I will like to bring this meeting to a close, as you can all see there is no case. It was just a little miscommunication"

The elders agreed to the Pharaoh's decision and the meeting was dismissed. Afterwards, Rameses Zayn spoke with the head healer who assured him Nefertari was well and needed few days to rest. She also told him that Nefertari has been moved to her chamber and Rameses Zayn thanked her.

Rameses Zayn visited Nefertari in her chamber and when he entered the room, he was met by his mother and Meretseger who was smiling at him. He knitted his brows slightly confused, because he thought Meretseger would be angry with him after what happened. He greeted them and they responded then he walked past them and sat beside Nefertari who was sitting up on the bed with her back leaning against the headboard and her face cast down to her fidgeting fingers. Rameses Zayn sighed softly and tucked her hair behind her ear, his total attention on her.

The moment the Queen realized this she stomped on Meretseger's foot then Meretseger hissed quietly in pain not to draw Rameses Zayn's attention on them. "What was that for?" She whispered lowly.

"Your acting is terrible, you should have given him an angry glare not smiling. You're going to make it obvious that we planned this whole thing" The Queen whispered in a hissing tone, close to her ear.

"Oh" Meretseger said as realization hits her and exactly that moment, Rameses Zayn turned his attention to them and immeditaly Meretseger grimace her face at him then Rameses Zayn gave her confused look again.

Wasn't she smiling at him a while ago? He thought.

"Can I speak to Nefertari alone?" He asked.

"I'm giving you five minutes. Hmph!" Meretseger glared at him and stormed out of the room.

The Queen gave Rameses Zayn a reassuring smile. "I will talk to her"

Rameses Zayn sighed loudly and nodded. "Please do, I don't want her to hate me"

"Okay but remember five minutes, we don't want her to get more angry" The Queen said and exited the room.

Rameses Zayn sighed again and turned his attention to Nefertari who was looking down her fingers, feeling so embarrassed that she wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it. Rameses Zayn scooted closer to her and pulled her for a hug, kissing the side of her face.

"I'm sorry, I hope I didn't get you into trouble" Nefertari whispered softly against his chest.

Rameses Zayn chuckled softly. "No, I didn't, in fact the elders were congratulating me for a work done well"

Nefertari blushed then Rameses Zayn pulled back gazing at her with a serious expression."Was I too rough?"

Nefertari cast her eyes down, biting her lower lip and shook her head. "No you were amazing, I'm sorry I cried like a baby" She whispered lowly then Rameses Zayn smiled.

"Your cuteness knows no bounds, I wish I found you sooner so I could love you longer" He whispered with a warm smile and embraced her, both of them enjoying the warmth of each other's arms.

The following month Rameses Zayn and Nefertari got married in a lavish ceremony. All of Nefertari's friends from her city came to witness the marriage ceremony including her best friend Istnofret Gigi. It was the one the best days of their lives as they finally became one husband and wife.

During the celebrations Merener Louis was no where to found and it saddens Nefertari's heart. But she didn't let that get in the way of the happiness and joy she was feeling to be finally be unite with Rameses Zayn as one body, one soul and one heart.

I'm not going to write how Louis and Gigi planned and plotted the killings of Rameses Zayn and Nefertari unborn babies. It will be very depressing writing it.😣

But I'm nervous to write it.😂 I'm scared it won't turn out okay.
