Season one, chapter seventeen

"Yeah okay we're just friends
But I'd kiss him if he asked"

THEA WAS now sitting in one of the many chairs in the restaurant, Mo-tak had told her and Ms. Chu about what had happened the previous night when Thea had been at her old house. And she couldn't lie that she wished she had been there to kick some of those thugs' asses.

"How come I can't find a single interview or article about this Taesin executive?" Mo-tak asked impatiently with his phone in his hands sitting on a chair

"Are you talking about Noh Hang-gyu?" Mun questioned, looking up from his notebook as he apparently seemed to be drawing something

"Mun" Ms. Chu warned him

"Oh, I'm working on my web comic" He responded, biting his pencil nervously

"You guys just never listen to me" Ms. Chu began to say, aggressively cutting some vegetables "I clearly told you not to meddle in human affairs"

"Even though we're in between the two realms, we're also human. Why must we draw the line?" Mo-tak asked frowning

"We have to. We can tell who's possessed by an evil spirit. You even talked Hana into it. This girl may be rude at times, but she always drew a clear line. What's with her now?" She pointed at Hana who was stealing some of the vegetables she had cut. Ms. Chu took her arm stopping her from stealing more "And you two, when that crazy woman scratched you, I wanted to treat your wounds, but you two pushed me away. What's wrong with you guys? What's the problem?"

"I'm sorry"

"I'm sorry too"

"Too late! If this is how it's going to be, I'll quit being your leader. So good luck without me. Maybe relapsing into a coma will teach you a lesson" Ms. Chu exclaimed as she continued cutting the vegetables

"Only Hana and Thea can read all the memories, so we had no choice. Yesterday, we caught the man who had stabbed Mo-tak" And just as he said that Ms. Chu and Thea looked at him in surprise

"You caught him?" Mun nodded his head in response "And what happened? Did you hand him over to the police?"

"No"

"Why not?"

"The instigator is someone else. And there is no evidence" Mo-tak replied looking at her

"What are you talking about? Just break a few joints, and he'll tell us everything" She made movements with the knife in her hand as if she was stabbing someone "Just record that and hand him over to the police"

"Don't we need to use our powers to break his joints?" Mo-tak reminded her making her shook her head in realization

"Right. You're right. Jeez!"

"It's a catch-22"

"Why did you even tell me? I don't care whether you catch that punk or not. Don't tell me about human affairs! Leave me out" Ms. Chu exclaimed with frustration

"All right"

But before Ms. Chu continued with her thing, her curiosity got the better of her and she approached Mo-tak again.

"Who is this scumbag? What does he look like? Who is this bastard?" She raised her voice

"Will you make up your mind?" Mo-tak asked her with raised brows

"Don't tell me anything. Leave me out!" She went back to her place and tried to light the stove "I'm the only one who's lonely. No one else!" She complained blowing the fire in the lighter

"Who's lonely?" Jangmul asked entering the restaurant "It breaks my heart" Everyone immediately stood up from their places

"Are you a ghost or what?" Ms. Chu asked him with a frown on her face

"What is that? Instant noodles? Oh, dear. How about some pasta?" Jangmul proposed

"Jjajangmyeon. Let's have that" Ms. Chu proposed taking off her apron

"Jjajangmyeon, it is. See you in a bit" Jangmul said with a triumphant smile

"See you" Ms. Chu aggressively threw her apron on the table before following Jangmul out of the restaurant

Thea smiled with amusement as she watched both adults leave the restaurant, she assured that those two would end up together one day because even though Ms. Chu denied it, everyone in the place knew that she loved him too, was it so difficult for them to be together?

"Mo-tak, I found him" Mun said after a few seconds of silence "But not as a Taesin executive. Noh Hang-gyu. He's a wanted criminal"

The trio approached the teenager to take a better look at his phone. And there was indeed a 'Wanted' picture of him on the internet.

"What? So this bastard is a thug too? Taesin Construction's executive director committed special assault? Who are these pricks?" Mo-tak questioned putting the phone down beside Mun's drawing of Noh Hang-Gyu

Thea looked at each of her teammates before clearing her throat loudly to get their attention, and once she got it she plastered a smile on her face.

"I'll be back later, I have a friendly date with someone," Thea let them know, instantly noticing how the trio frowned

"Friendly date?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to let you know so don't bother waiting for me for dinner." She responded, turning around to grab her purse on the table

"What time will you be back?" Mo-tak asked her, raising his voice when the girl began to run towards the exit

"Really late!" Thea responded, giving them a smile before disappearing from their point of view

Once again the night accompanied her, the light of the moon and the stars illuminated the dark sky, Thea always admired the stars, the way in which their radiance never went out and they continued to shine no matter what, it was something that inspired her in doing the same.

The pair of friends walked side by side with smiles of pure happiness on their faces. After their meeting, both had exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet one more time to talk about the things that had not been told that day.

There were too many things that Thea needed to tell her and she wouldn't miss the opportunity to do so, after all she also deserved to spend time with her friends, didn't she?

"Drunk up! Drink up!" Cheered on a group of college teenagers from afar

"Wow, that must be nice" Thea exclaimed watching the group outside the small store "Is alcohol really that great?"

"Well drinking does makes you feel good" SooJin exclaimed with both of her hands crossed over her chest

"You drank before?" Thea asked with surprise

"A little of the bottle that my father left out at night" She explained as Thea gasped in surprise "Why? Have you never had the taste of alcohol?"

"I'm a scaredy cat, I haven't even tried it yet" Thea admitted, to which SooJin sighed, biting her lower lip with an idea in mind

That's how they both ended up outside the store hiding in a corner as SooJin held Thea's makeup bag who finished putting some lip gloss on SooJin's lips.

"How is it? Do I look older?" SooJin asked as Thea put a small mirror in front of her

"You're totally a college student. The popular girl at a women's university type of feeling?" Thea joked, SooJin gave her a playful hit on the shoulder, both of them laughing in the process

"Let's do this" Thea nodded determinedly before following the black-haired girl to the entrance of the store, where she let out a long sigh before changing her expression to a serious one to give a better impression and look more professional.

"I'm so thirsty" SooJin commented opening the glass door, thus entering the store, the duo looked at the man behind the counter before starting to walk through the shelves full of different food products. Thea had never done anything like this crazy idea that SooJin had at last minute in her life, but she didn't expect it to not be fun.

"Hey, aren't that professor's lectures boring these days?" Thea exclaimed grabbing a can of beer in the refrigerator when SooJin opened it for her

"Yes, that's right. What do you want to do on our free period on Monday?" SooJin played along grabbing a can of beer and then closing the refrigerator

"I'm not sure. Should we ask the class president to buy us lunch?" Thea asked walking behind her

"Sounds good" SooJin laughed, both of them put the cans of beer on the counter as they flipped their hair back looking at the man behind the counter expressionless

"Your ID card?" He asked, Thea immediately took out her purse before gasping in surprise

"Ommo! I forgot my ID card. Do you have yours?" Thea asked SooJin with concern on her features

"I also forgot. Can't you just ring us up? We're college students" SooJin asked pointing at both of them

"Which college?"

"Hankuk University, second year" Thea responded with a smile

"What major?"

"English" SooJin resplied "I'd like to pay, please" She said in English as both girls pushed the cans of alcohol towards the man

"What is the name of the English department's homeroom teacher?" The man asked with brows raised

Thea narrowed her eyes, this man seemed to be more intelligent than she thought, she had misjudged him, but she would not let him win this argument, if something Thea did not like was losing.

She smirked with satisfaction when she found what she was looking for on the man's mind without he realizing it, sometimes she loved having that ability.

"Ahn Cheol-soo" Thea said with proudness in her voice. The man narrowed his eyes at her in suspicion as SooJin looked at her in pure surprise

"Alright" The man said before scanning both drinks

Thea may have cheated but she wouldn't let anyone take away her dream of drinking beer for the first time, her teammates, especially Ms. Chu who literally gave her a whole speech on why she shouldn't drink alcohol when she grows up. Don't get it wrong, Thea loves her like you have no idea, but sometimes she could be very overprotective of her. So what they don't know won't hurt them at all.

"Cheers!"

"Cheers!" They both raised their drinks in the air, now sitting at one of the tables outside the store

"I'm already getting drunk!" Thea exclaimed gulping the liquid down her throat

Although Thea frowned, neither in disgust nor in pleasure, apparently the beer didn't taste like she expected, it was very different from everything she imagined.

"It's sweet" SooJin responded "How did you know what the name of the homeroom teacher in the English department was?" SooJin asked with curiosity

"I visited once, thanks to Jun-Seo years ago, so it wasn't a big deal" Well it wasn't entirely a lie because she did visit once though she never met the teacher. SooJin hummed in acknowledgment as Thea took the lid off the container of ramen they had bought for dinner "That looks really good" She exclaimed taking her chopsticks feeling her mouth watering

"Oh, the smell!" SooJin exclaimed watching as Thea dipped her chopsticks into the ramen "How is it?"

"It's tasty!" Thea responded, tasting the ramen in her mouth

"Thanks to you we got the beers. Ouch!" She complained in pain

"Oh no!" Thea exclaimed with concern, she put her chopsticks aside and hastily took Soojin's hand in hers "Do you put on hand cream?" She asked, noticing how SooJin's fingers were very dry and damaged

"It's okay" Soojin assured, removing her hand from Thea's

"That looks painful. How'd it turn out like that?" Thea questioned, wanting so badly to heal her wounds

"We'll, it's because of my habit. I keep washing my hands. I do it unconsciously when I'm stressed. I need to fix it, but it's not going well" Soojin revealed mixing the ramen with a spoon

"Stress from what?" Thea asked, putting all her attention on her best friend

"What do you think? It's because of my grades" Soojin admitted her expression showing that the topic was very delicate for her

"Does your dad still bother you about that?" SooJin nodded in response "Wow, that man doesn't get tired of annoying you"

"My pride will get hurt, so don't tell anybody. You're the first friend I've told" SooJin admitted to which Thea smiled

"Thank. For telling me" Soojin looked at her before smiling

"What are you thanking me for?"

"To be honest, when my accident happened I ended up in a coma" Thea revealed taking the beer can in her hands

"What?" SooJin glanced up at her with surprise "Did that really happen?" Thea nodded repeatedly as she swallowed the cold liquid down her throat

"But I'm so happy that I have a friend like you now. You're the only one who knows, okay? Cheers!" Thea exclaimed, raising her drink "We're even now" She smiled

They both laughed before silence fell over them. Thea took her chopsticks once again to start eating the delicious ramen in front of her, she would definitely get home just to sleep on her soft bed which she has missed since the morning.

"Thea, I actually have something to tell you." SooJin began to say, feeling a little uneasy about the matter

"Go on"

"I know you still have feelings for SuHo, but I have to tell you..." Thea looked at her waiting for her to continue "I like SuHo" Thea stopped chewing the food in her mouth

"Wow, that was unexpected, it took you long enough to realize that" Thea exclaimed, swallowing the food in her mouth

"What? You already knew?" SooJin asked with her eyebrows raised

"Since we were eight years old, you've always had a crush on him since then, but you didn't realize it," Thea explained with a smile on her face remembering the good times

"Ah. It was very obvious then" SooJin smiled shyly before hastily looking up at Thea "Anyway, I'm sorry, I know none of this should happen because you two still have feelings for each other and I don't want to be the one to ruin your relationship so forget that..."

"As a matter of fact, I like someone else and SuHo knows it" Thea interrupted her appreciating the expression SooJin made when she heard her words

"You like someone else?"

"That's right, I told SuHo when I realized that he was misinterpreting my actions and words but apparently not even that discouraged him" Thea further explained putting her chopsticks on the table

"Why? What did he tell you?" SooJin curiously asked, copying Thea's action

"He said he wouldn't give up and that he would keep trying to make me fall in love with him one more time but I don't think that's possible." Thea sighed thinking about how much it must have hurt SuHo to hear those words, because if she were in his shoes she would have cried day and night for weeks

"Oh I see, so SuHo's still in love with you but you're in love with someone else" SooJin summarized "And who's the person you're in love with?" The corners of Thea's lips curved upward in a smile.

"His name is So Mun" Thea responded with a goofy smile on her face as SooJin almost spat the food out of her mouth

"So Mun as So Mun? Boy with curly hair who used to limp?" SooJin asked with her eyes wide open

"Yes, that's him, do you know him?" Thea nodded looking at her friend curiously, was he really that popular at school?

"Daebak! How could I not know him when he became the school's hero, thanks to him the bullying stopped" SooJin said with admiration "He earned the respect and hearts of everyone at school, I understand why you fell in love with him, but How do you know him?"

"Oh, he works at the restaurant where I live so I see him quite often," Thea revealed taking the can of beer on the table once again

"Ah I see, did SuHo ever tell you that So Mun is one of his best friends?" Thea almost choked on her beer

"What?"

"Apparently they knew each other much longer because when SuHo arrived from the states and enrolled in school, the two of them seemed to be very close" SooJin explained "I doubt that SuHo doesn't know who you're really in love with."

"That explains a lot of things, he acted really strange when I mentioned Mun in the conversation, he turned very pale, but when I asked him he told me that he had heard that name somewhere before" Thea explained finally connecting the dots

"I just hope things between SuHo and Mun don't get awkward when the whole truth comes out" Thea nodded in agreement looking into the distance trying to assimilate the new information she just received

Okay, I have no idea what I just wrote haha ​​also, from what I've seen you guys don't seem to like the chapters none related to Mun and Thea very much, so I'm really sorry if you have to read chapters like these that don't have nothing to do with the series, but these chapters are like fillers to talk more about Thea's life out of her job as counter.

The truth is I was a little disappointed when I noticed how little attention these received when I published them and it has demotivated me a little, I suppose that is the reason for my delay in updating the story. I've been thinking for a few days about sending the story to drafts and republishing when I feel ready, but I haven't done it because there's many of you who really want to read this story to the end.
