xlv. Unexpected visit

Season one, chapter forty-five

"He stares at you
every time you look away"

"Thank goodness his grandparents are okay. I've erased their memories. The truck driver is okay too" Ms. Chu explained, kneeling in front of Mun's unconscious body, on top of Shin Myeong-hwi who had apparently fallen back into a coma

"I'll take Mun's grandparents home" Jangmul announced to everyone

"What about Shin Myeong-hwi? He's fallen back into a coma now that the evil spirit is gone" Ms. Chu exclaimed with a frown

"What if he never wakes up and just dies? That won't happen, right?" Mo-tak asked, surely if he died they wouldn't be able to put him in prison and that shouldn't happen

"We can't let that happen. He must pay for what he did" Ms. Chu assured

"Don't worry. This world isn't such an easy place. Ill take him to the best hospital in the country and make sure he lives" Jangmul assured the group "Hey, Mo-tak"

"Yes?" The aforementioned got up from the ground, waiting for the eldest to continue

"Shouldn't you go see a doctor too?" Jangmul suggested with concern

"Oh, maybe..."

"Why did you do that strongman stunt in the middle of the road? I thought you were a stunt performer" Jangmul suddenly started scolding him sort of making fun of him

"What? 'Strongman stunt'? Do you know why I did all that...? If it weren't for me, we'd be..." Mo-tak began to defend himself

"Just drop it"

"I'll carry Mun on my back" Thea suggested getting up from the ground, completely ignoring that her back was probably covered in bruises

"You're worse than him. You're such a meanie, Hana" Mo-tak pointed to the aforementioned squatting on the ground, placing a hand on her shoulder. Hana looked at him out of the corner of her eye as if she were trying to tell him not to touch her which made him immediately remove his hand from her shoulder

"I wonder if he's met them" Ms. Chu wondered as Mo-tak now placed one of his hands on her shoulder, waiting for a particular answer "Yes, I know. You did a great job. Well done"

"Yes, you did a good job" Jangmul agreed as Mo-tak's eyes fell on him

"Move" Thea exclaimed with amusement, pushing both adults aside so she could reach the body of her unconscious boyfriend

"All right"

"Be careful" Ms. Chu asked as Thea gently but easily placed the boy's body on the soft mattress of his bed

"Jeez, that scared me" Thea commented when Mun suddenly burst into laughter

"Mun looks so happy" Ms. Chu commented with a smile "He looks like a baby now that he's finally met his parents" Ms. Chu couldn't resist squeezing one of his cheeks tenderly, making him smile

"I've never seen him smile like this" Thea pointed out, getting infected with his smile "Weirdo" She exclaimed, moving a few strands of hair from Mun's forehead

"They must have a lot to catch up on. Even catching up all night won't be enough" Ms. Chu exclaimed, starting to cover him with the soft blanket while he laughed from time to time

Thea smiled, he really looked happy, after so long he could finally see his parents. After all he deserved it. She sighed deeply before bending down to place a small kiss on her boyfriend's forehead who put a smile on his lips as he felt the soft and warm texture of Thea's lips on his skin.

After so much suffering, after they had almost given up, everything turned out the way they wanted. And even though Thea hadn't had the opportunity to see her family like Mun had, she couldn't complain about it because Yung's people had brought her back to life and if it weren't for them she probably wouldn't be where she is right now, let alone alive.

Nor would she have met the great family she now has, nor Mun, who gave an unexpected turn not only to her life but also to that of the other members. It's probably silly to say but Mun actually saved Thea from sinking into that dark hole from which she couldn't get out no matter how hard she tried to swim to the surface.

But somehow when he came into her life, everything turned color and she once again believed that happiness would soon come again. And here she is, grateful to the teenager for saving her, protecting her, and loving her despite her past and the horrible way of thinking she had. He loved her just the way she was and she was grateful for that.

"Gosh, I'm nervous" Mo-tak admitted shaking his hands nervously

"Let's go" Hana exclaimed, feeling anxious to see her deceased teammate

"All right, guys. Are you ready?" Ms. Chu asked her team

"Yes, for some time now" Mo-tak answered confidently

"Okay"

Thea placed her hand on her chest which instantly emitted a bright white light,
though she was surprised when she opened her eyes and everyone was still in the restaurant, the only difference was the white light coming from outside the windows.

"What? Why are we still here?" Ms. Chu asked in confusion

"Is this some kind of system error?" Mo-tak asked looking around with a frown on his face

"Did they lie to us again?" Ms. Chu exclaimed angrily "Let's try one more time"

But when they put their hands on their chests, someone entered the restaurant, being none other than the person they had been waiting to see for months. Thea's eyes instantly and automatically watered and tears soon appeared.

Her lower lip began to tremble, feeling a wave of emotions wash over her, he was really here, she was really seeing him in front of her and it wasn't just a trick that her mind was playing on her because everyone else was just as surprised as she was.

"What?" Mo-tak said standing up from his seat, his breath getting caught in his throat "How..."

"Cheol-jung" Ms. Chu exclaimed happily, her eyes shining with tears

"Then this must be..." Hana said with her teary eyes, lacking the words to describe how she felt at that moment

"I figured it'd be better for us to meet here" Cheol-jung said laughing, but happy to see his faithful teammates again "I put in a special request with the folks in Yung"

"Cheol-jung!" Mo-tak shouted happily, running to hug him

"How long has it been?" Ms. Chu asked hugging him

"Yes, come here" He motioned to Hana who did not hesitate to hug him tightly. "Come here Attie" Thea didn't wait any longer to hug the man she once saw as her father figure, it really felt so good to be able to see him again

"My gosh. Cheol-jung"

"Hey"

"Let's go!" The five of them began to jump up and down happily

"Hey, man. Calm down" Cheol-jun playfully pushed Mo-tak aside

"Guys, let's sit down"

"Okay"

"Thank you guys, we get to meet again like this. Thank you a lot, all of you" Cheol-jung began to say, holding Ms. Chu's hand tightly"And you've been taking good care of my family. Because of her son who died a bachelor, my mother must've been devastated. Thank you so much"

"Come on. Of course we should take care of her. Hey, let me make you a nice bowl of noodles" Ms. Chu explained getting up from her seat

"I'll put some water on the stove" Hana added copying Ms. Chu's action

"Oh wait. No mushrooms, please" Cheol-jung asked, stopping both women halfway who turned around to look at him with amusement

"Jeez, don't you worry. I haven forgotten that" Ms. Chu assured with a smile, turning around to continue on her way

"Wow, my gosh. By the way, I heard that my successor is amazing, just like me. I heard you're not match for him" Cheol-jung began explaining once Hana and Ms. Chu entered the kitchen

"That's not really true. He's just... a little better than me, I'd say. But i wouldn't say he's like you. From his looks to his skills and abilities, he's just like me, his mentor. He's like a mini-me" Mo-tak explained with amusement

"Is he that ugly?" Cheol-jung joked with a frown to which Thea couldn't help but let out a big laugh

"Hey, you're handsome. So is Mun. As for Mo-tak..." Thea exclaimed with amusement pointing to the last mentioned who drew a smile on his face

"Everyone already knows" Mo-tak explained putting a hand under his chin confidently

"He's at it again. Goodness" Thea commented with a frown, shaking her head in disapproval which caused everyone to laugh in amusement

"Stop talking nonsense!" Ms. Chu exclaimed leaving the kitchen with Hana following behind her who seemed to not want to wipe the smile off her face

"Cheol-jung, what was it like to be trapped inside the evil spirit?" Mo-tak asked curiously, leaning over the table. True, although they won't show it, everyone here was curious to know the answer to that question

"Don't even bring it up if you've never experienced it" Cheol-jung responded, Thea pouted like a little girl who hadn't received what she wanted, something that didn't go unnoticed by the group

"Here we go again"

"Tell us! I want to hear it!"

"Fine, tell us"

"As you know, the evil spirit was..." Cheol-jung began to narrate with inspiration, giving in to the group's insistence

"My goodness"

"Come on. Keep listening. Hear me out" Cheol-jung exclaimed after having interrupted him, cutting off his inspiration

"You haven't changed one bit"

"I'm telling you"

"Goodness"
